Sapphire Taylor vs. Glory Braddock - Konrad Raab - 10-07-2024 2 RP Limit for singles 3500 Word Limit Per RP Deadline: 11:59:59 pm ET Friday, October 11, 2024 SHOW TAKES PLACE SATURDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2024 at Buffalo, New York – KeyBank Center RE: Sapphire Taylor vs. Glory Braddock - Braddock - 10-07-2024 1 of 2 ===== ========== October 2nd, 2024 London, England Off Camera ========== Apocalypse has come and gone without much in terms of celebration, highs, or lows for The British Bombshell. The only real disappointment for Braddock was the fact that she did not have a match at Apocalypse. She could have had a match, she could have been in the Trios Tournament Finals competing for her third Trios Contract. Unfortunately her team that included YUYO and Gavin got ousted in the semi-finals. This left The British Bombshell with little to do and SCW with little reason to schedule her to make an appearance. Braddock hates being on the sidelines, especially now that she is attempting to resurrect her singles career after a mostly successful run with Brittany Lohan as Twisted & Sadistic. The only thing Glory Braddock knows to do to remedy this situation is to put herself on the map. Braddock knows that she has to pick up several decisive wins and force CHBK to sit up and take notice. She has her first opportunity in Buffalo, New York for Breakdown as she is set to face Sapphire Taylor, another SCW talent looking to make a name for herself. Sapphire, like Braddock has had her fair share of ups and downs recently. Glory just has to make certain that Sapphire’s downward spiral continues. The British Bombshell has other issues to deal with too, deeply personal ones involving her own sister. Glory Braddock has been well aware of her sister Julia’s adopted daughter, a young girl named Serena Grace, for quite some time now. Glory has accepted the girl into the Braddock family and has been quite happy for Julia. She was pleased with how Julia helped the young girl, who had previously been homeless and addicted to drugs. Julia helped her kick the drug habbit, gave her a home, and gave her a new lease on life. It was very noble and Glory was proud of her sister. But it has been brought to her attention that Serena Grace may have a biological family that is looking for her. Franklin Jefferson, a wealthy entrepreneur in England, visited Glory recently. He is positive that Serena Grace is his long lost niece who went missing after her, her twin sister, and their parents had a skiing accident. Franklin already tried talking to Julia but, according to him, she refused to let him conduct DNA tests to prove that she is his niece, his family. Now he has come to Glory begging, pleading for help. Truthfully there isn’t much Glory can do. Julia has long since cut through the legal red tape to make herself the legal guardian and legal mother of Serena. She doesn’t have to agree to a DNA test if she doesn’t want to. But Glory knows that it is only fair, it is simply the right thing to do, to put Franklin’s mind at ease, especially if he really is Serena’s uncle. Convincing Julia to have the DNA tests done will be a difficult challenge that could potentially lead to a feud between the Braddock siblings. Glory has feuded with Julia in the past but they have buried the hatchet a long time ago. They made peace a long time ago. Glory does not look forward to potentially endangering that peace. Still, she knows what she must do. In the opulent living room area of the Braddock family home just outside London, England Glory Braddock finds herself with her younger sister Julia and the center of the controversy herself, Julia’s adopted daughter Serena Grace. The living room is adorned with intricate chandeliers, lavish furniture, and marble accents. Glory wears an expensive yet understated cream-colored dress, casual in design but clearly tailored to perfection. Beside her is her younger sister, Julia Braddock. She wears a pale blue dress that mirrors Glory’s in both expense and subtle elegance, though her outfit is slightly more relaxed. Serena wears a bright pink dress that stands out in contrast to the more muted tones of the older women’s attire, giving her an air of youthful innocence. Her dark hair is tied up in a loose, casual ponytail, and though her dress is simple, it’s still clearly expensive, aligning with the luxurious environment they’re in. She watches the two women with a mixture of awe and trepidation, as if aware of the gravity of the moment but not fully understanding its weight. “So, let me get this straight,” Julia begins with a wry grin “you haven’t had any action since you were eliminated from the Trios Tournament?” “Don’t remind me.” Glory sighs out of frustration. “I need to stay active. I hated having to sit out Apocalypse. Hell, I would have been happy to fight Religious Wright if I had the chance.” “You don’t mean that.” Julia snickers. “I do.” Glory nods her head. “You know what our dad used to say, it is important for a wrestler to stay active.” “No, it is important to stay competitive.” Julia says, correcting her. “There is a difference between staying active and staying competitive. You could have faced some idiot like Wright, Chase Upshaw, or some other loser, but how would that have helped you in the eyes of SCW management? They know you can beat them. If you want to advance your career, if you want championship gold, you need to fight someone who can give you an actual challenge. You know what I mean?” “I get what you’re saying, Julia,” Glory sighs and shakes her head “but the more I sit around idle, doing nothing, the weaker my game becomes. You’re right, I do want to hold championship gold again. But I can’t do that by sitting on the sidelines.” “Just be patient. Your time will come.” “I hated that you didn’t get to wrestle, Aunt Glory.” Serena’s syrupy sweet voice chimes in. Glory turns and looks at Serena. She can’t help but smile warmly at this girl. She has grown to love her as if she truly were her own blood. But seeing her now reminds her of the difficult task ahead. It also gives her an idea of the difficult position Julia herself is in. If Glory feels this way about Serena, how must Julia feel towards this girl being her now adopted mother? Glory is now going to ask Julia to do something that could, potentially, risk severing the ties that they have created? Even now Glory is questioning whether or not she is doing the right thing. “Thanks, sweetie.” Glory gives Serena big hug. “Hey, uh, why don’t you go upstairs? Your mom and I need to talk for a moment.” “Yes, go upstairs. You do have homework, don’t you Serena?” “Ok, mom.” Serena gives Glory one more hug. Then Julia kisses her on her cheek. Serena then trots off, out of the living room. Glory and Julia listen for the footsteps that are heard going upstairs and then the sound of a bedroom door being shut. Knowing that Serena is out of earshot and eyesight, and they are fully alone, they know they can speak freely. “That’s quite a child you have there.” Glory says. “Thank you.” “I remember when you first took her in.” Glory points out. “She was quite a handful. She was very rebellious, didn’t want to obey you.” “And if you recall she was addicted to drugs.” Julia sighs. “Drugs are a terrible thing and will turn you into a monster. Trust me, I know. But I paid for her treatment, her rehabilitation, and now look at her; she is obedient, she is a classy lady, she is downright perfect.” “It’s almost like she’s become a completely different person.” “Yes, you could say that.” Julia smiles, as if she is proud. “Sometimes change is necessary. Look at me, I was a rebellious person, much like Serena, I let drugs nearly destroy my life. But look at me now. I pulled myself up from that trash and I am a success.” She points at Glory. “And you, you’ve always been a tremendous wrestler but you are now a successful businesswoman as well. That’s quite the change, don’t you think?” “Not all change is for the better.” Glory says. “Besides, sometimes its good to hang onto aspects of the past. Remember what dad said, those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.” “Yes, but he also stressed the importance of growth. You and I have both grown, so has Serena. And I think it has all been for the better.” “Maybe…” Glory’s voice trails off. There is a hint of doubt in her voice, some skepticism and Julia detects it almost immediately. The younger sister arches her brow, her own curiosity is being peaked. “What are you getting at, dear sister?” “It’s nothing…” “There is something you’re not telling me.” Julia insists. “I was hoping it wouldn’t have to come up.” Glory sighs. “Franklin Jefferson came by to see me.” “Franklin?!” Julia seems shocked. That shock quickly turns into anger. “Where? When?!” “A few weeks ago in Miami.” “Bloody hell…” the prim and proper facade of Julia Braddock melts away due to her uncontrollable rage “...that maniac is stalking me now…” “He isn’t stalking you.” Glory says. “First the maniac tracked me down at my daughter’s party, then he tracks down MY SISTER in Miami? He travels across the pond to the United States to get more information about me? You tell me that isn’t stalking!” “He isn’t stalking you.” Glory insists. “He just lost his family. That’s all. He is a man who lost his family and he thinks you might know where one of them is.” “I don’t want to talk about it.” Julia shakes her head. “Why not?” “I already dealt with him, that’s why.” “Look, Franklin already told me everything.” Glory says. “He told me about his family went on a vacation, they all went missing in a skiing accident.” “Yes, I heard this same sob story before.” Julia says dismissively. “Did he show you the picture of his niece? The one that is confirmed dead? That she has an identical twin that is still missing?” “Yes, I heard that nonsense too.” “I’m not too sure it’s nonsense.” Glory states. “I saw that picture and I must admit, Serena looks exactly like her.” “That doesn’t prove anything.” Julia says. “Don’t they say everyone has a twin? Physical appearance means nothing.” “Oh for God’s sake, Julia, listen to yourself!” Glory exclaims, her own frustration at her sister’s behavior growing by the second. “That girl up there could be his missing family, his missing niece. It isn’t right to keep them apart.” “Jefferson doesn’t even know that is his niece.” Julia states coldly. “He has no proof and neither do you.” “You’re right, but a DNA test would be proof. A DNA test would be definitive proof if she is or isn’t Franklin’s missing niece and if she isn’t he would go away and leave you alone. But you won’t give it a chance.” Glory shakes her head. “You are standing in the way of the definitive test to prove whether or not that girl is related to Franklin Jefferson.” “You’re right, I am standing in the way.” Julia stands up. Glory immediately shoots up as well. The two sisters stand nose to nose with one another. This is the confrontation Glory feared. But she cannot back down now. “And it is MY choice to make because I am legally her mother now. No one can force me to have that DNA test done, not you and not Franklin.” “What are you so scared of?” Glory demands angrily. “Serena is legally your daughter, yes, but she is a human being who has rights and she has the right to know her true, biological family if they are indeed still alive somewhere. If Franklin is her uncle, she deserves to have the chance to get to know him if she chooses to…” she shrugs her shoulders “...or she may have no interest in getting to know him. She may learn that she is his niece but she is so entrenched into you and your lifestyle that she may not care to get to know him. Have you considered that?” “Yes, but…” Julia’s voice trails off. “What? What are you afraid of?” There is a long, tense pause as the sisters stare each other down. The tension in the air is thick. But Glory Braddock, to her credit, is not backing down, despite not feeling comfortable being in this situation. Finally Julia cracks under the pressure. “Yes, you’re right, she might learn that Franklin is her uncle and stay with me anyway.” Julia shakes her head. “But what if she doesn’t? What if the DNA test, being introduced to Franklin, restores her memory, breaks through the fog of her amnesia, and she decides that she wants to be with him, with her real family?” “That’s her choice, Julia.” Glory says quietly. “It’s a risk you have to take if you really want to do the right thing.” “What about you?” Julia says demandingly, pointing a finger at her older sister. “Would you risk losing your own daughter, your beloved Melinda if you were in the same situation?” “I get what you mean, Julia, and I really do understand the fear.” “No, you don’t.” Julia insists, shaking her head vehemently. “Oh but I do. I understand because I was faced with that same fear, I was once in your situation. Thomas Gage, Melinda’s father, approached me years ago about wanting to see his daughter.” “And you just let him see her?” “No, not right away.” Glory shakes her head. “I would be lying if I said I wasn’t reluctant. I was afraid that Melinda might want to stay with him. But my daughter deserved to know her real father. So I let them see each other. Melinda never left me because she knew how much I loved and cared for her.” She points a finger at Julia. “Do you truly love and care for Serena?” “I do.” Julia says as tears roll down her cheek. “Then I’m sure Serena will know it too. Take the risk, have the DNA tests run. If she is Franklin’s niece, and you love her as much as you claim, she’ll stay with you.” “No, I won’t.” Julia shakes her head. “You took that risk with Melinda, good for you, but I refuse to take that risk with Serena. She is my daughter now, I have a family now, and Franklin can’t just pop up out of nowhere and suddenly decide that he wants to take her from me!” “He doesn’t want to take her from you or ruin your family. He just…” “You don’t know that!” Julia exclaims. Again there is a long pause. Glory finally decides drastic measures are needed. “I can’t make you do the right thing but I can sure as hell put pressure on you.” Glory says. “You wrestle for GCW, a promotion that my company owns.” “You’re threatening me?” Julia chuckles. “It’s really come to this?” “You need to do the right thing, Julia.” “I don’t have to do anything and quite honestly I don’t think you will use your company as a weapon against me. That’s just not your style, Glory. You are too much of a goody-two-shoes.” Julia smirks. “You don’t have the guts to do something like that.” “Don’t test me, Julia.” Glory says. “You have no idea what I might do.” “Just get out!” Julia shouts angrily. “Oh I’ll leave. But think about what I said. You cannot keep that girl from the truth.” Glory Braddock turns and walks away. She hated that things turned out like this, she hated that this confrontation took place, but she knows Julia. Julia is far more stubborn than her. She had a feeling Julia would not back down so easily. Glory also knows that Julia is right; Glory will not weaponize her company against Julia. But she hopes Julia secretly believes the threat. Glory wants Julia to do the right thing. RE: Sapphire Taylor vs. Glory Braddock - Braddock - 10-10-2024 2 of 2 ====== ========== October 8th, 2024 Charlotte, NC Off Camera ========== Glory Braddock has been living in the United States for nearly six years now after moving to Miami, Florida from her familial home of London, England. She has grown to love life in Miami. Not everything about living in a Florida fantasy is terrific. Weather is always a concern for Floridians and with the devastating Hurricane Milton fast approaching, The British Bombshell has already pulled up roots and evacuated. Not everyone has somewhere to go and Braddock counts herself as lucky that she and her family have somewhere to go until the hurricane and its aftermath are finished; namely, their home in Charlotte, North Carolina. It isn’t exactly the ideal solution for Glory Braddock. She never really enjoyed the city of Charlotte but she does own a company that is headquartered in the Queen City, thus having some place to stay overnight during business trips is important. Now she finds this home even more important as it provides her a safe place to stay during dangerous weather. The coming hurricane isn’t the only thing occupying the mind of The British Bombshell. She recently had a knock down drag out verbal altercation with her young sister, Julia Braddock. Glory had recently come to learn that Julia’s adopted daughter, Serena Grace, actually has biological family still alive. The family, represented by her supposed uncle Franklin Jefferson, wants to make contact but Julia has, thus far, refused to let him. And since she is now Serena’s legal mother and legal guardian, she has complete control over the teenager’s life and does not have to allow her to contact her biological family. Julia has made it clear she does not plan to help Serena learn the truth of where she came from out of fear that she might leave Julia forever. Despite knowing that it would reignite a sibling rivalry that had long since been put to rest, Glory Braddock still confronted her sister and put pressure on her to do the right thing, to tell Serena the truth. Thus far her efforts have been for nothing. Serena is still in the dark and now Glory finds herself once again in a rivalry with her younger sister. Braddock and her husband, Kurt Logan, find themselves in their Charlotte residence. This home is upscale but nowhere near as upscale as their home in Miami. This is much more down to earth and more befitting of how Glory was raised by the more down to earth Glenn Braddock. The walls are painted a soft beige, the hardwood floors partially covered by a neutral-toned rug. There’s a large, comfortable sofa in the center, complemented by a couple of mismatched armchairs that give the room a cozy, lived-in feel. Natural light streams through the wide windows, casting a warm glow on the scattered moving boxes and suitcases that still line the perimeter of the room, indicating that Glory and Kurt only just recently arrived and have not quite yet bothered to unpack fully. After all, Glory hopes to be back in Miami soon. She hopes that this time spent in Charlotte is not long term. Glory Braddock stands near one of the open boxes, her blonde hair loosely falling over her shoulders. Dressed casually in a simple royal purple t-shirt and jeans, she exudes an air of practicality. Kurt Logan, her husband, sits on the armrest of the sofa, one leg crossed over the other. His short, black hair is slightly disheveled, likely from the effort of unpacking. He wears a plain gray t-shirt and dark jeans, his simple attire matching Glory’s in its understated practicality. His dark eyes scan the room thoughtfully, taking in the still-cluttered space. There’s an open suitcase near his feet, spilling over with folded clothes, while another duffel bag lies haphazardly by the coffee table. He runs a hand through his hair, sighing softly as he watches Glory, their shared silence a comfortable one. “Look, I know you are not a big fan of Charlotte.” Kurt says quietly. “But remember that this is just temporary, ok? It isn’t like we’re going to be here long term.” “I like the confidence.” Glory answers back with a hint of skepticism. She shakes her head. “But, uh, I’m not so sure. I mean, Florida has already been devastated once with Helene. Now it’s taking a direct hit from Milton? Is there going to be anything left for us to go home to?” “Don’t be so pessimistic, babe.” Kurt gets off the armrest and approaches Glory. He embraces her tightly. “Everything will be fine. Miami will be fine. We’re just being cautious. That’s all.” “I hope so.” Glory walks over towards the sofa. She sits down, making herself comfortable. Kurt walks down and sits down next to her. Kurt wraps a comforting arm around Braddock’s shoulders. “Is something else bothering you?” “I think a hurricane is enough.” Glory chuckles softly. “And besides, like you said, I hate Charlotte.” “We always could have moved in with your sister at your family home.” Kurt points out with a smirk. “I think your dad would have been loved to see his daughters back together under the same roof.” “You’d think…” Glory’s voice trails off. There is a hint of sadness in her voice which Kurt immediately picks up on. He arches his brow out of curiosity. “I thought you loved the old Braddock family home.” “I do.” Glory nods her head instantly. “I love the old home and the wonderful memories it evokes. I love my sister. She and I need to remain close, we are all we have now. You know? But…” “But what?” “Nothing.” Glory shakes her head. “This isn’t nothing.” Kurt remarks. “Something is definitely off about you, babe. In fact, you really haven’t been the same since returning from London. Did something happen between you and your sister that I should know about?” “It really isn’t anything you need to know about, Kurt. Trust me.” “Well you’re my wife and it seems to bother you, so yeah, maybe I DO need to know.” Kurt winks. Glory sighs. “If you must know…Julia and I got into a big fight.” “What happened?” Kurt asks. “I knew you two used to have problems, but I thought you had patched things up.” “We did.” She sighs and shakes her head. “But I stirred things up again when I called Julia out about her adopted daughter Serena.” “What’s the big deal with Serena?” “That’s another detail I left out. Serena’s biological family…well, they think they’re her family, they’re not entirely sure…but they have been snooping around. They approached Julia first wanting to see Serena, wanting to see if this girl who Julia adopted is really their missing family member. Julia didn’t want to hear anything about it and told them to get lost.” “I see.” Kurt nods his head. “Let me guess, they approached you?” “Of course. The bloke who spoke to me is Franklin Jefferson, he is convinced that Serena is his niece, Grace Jefferson, a girl who went missing after she, her twin sister, and their parents went missing in a skiing accident. He wants DNA testing done to confirm if Serena really is his missing niece. But Julia refuses to agree to the tests in fear that if Serena learns the truth of where she came from that she might leave.” Braddock sighs. “I told Julia that it was unfair to keep the truth from Serena. I told her that it was unfair to Serena’s true family to keep her from them if this was true.” “And knowing your sister she hated being told that she was wrong.” Kurt says. Glory chuckles and nods her head. “That’s Julia for you.” She looks up at her husband. “But was I right to say what I said? Was I right to get involved?” “I’m not exactly happy that this Franklin guy decided to involve you, that he decided to put you in a position to have to go against your sister.” Kurt pauses and then nods his head. “But knowing what you know now, yes, you did the right thing. Serena absolutely has the right to know the truth.” “That’s a little weight off my shoulders, I suppose.” She shrugs. “But what can I do? What I can to force her hand, to make her get the DNA testing done, to tell Serena the truth?” “I’m not entirely sure what you can do.” Kurt kisses her on her forehead. “But definitely keep trying, do not give up. Still, this has to be Julia’s decision. You cannot make it for her and you cannot force her to do the right thing.” “Yeah…” Glory’s voice trails off “...that’s what I was afraid of…” ========== October 11th, 2024 Buffalo, NY On Camera ========== Glory Braddock stands confidently, her shoulder-length blonde hair catching the light as it falls in soft waves around her face. Her features are delicate, with bright eyes and a calm, very confident expression that hints at her strength. She wears a simple yet stylish outfit: a plain white t-shirt tucked into high-waisted jeans that fit her form comfortably. Completing the look is a deep purple jacket, slightly oversized, draped casually over her shoulders. The jacket adds a pop of color to her otherwise neutral attire, making her stand out without being overly flashy. She pairs the outfit with clean, white sneakers, practical but neat. There’s an air of understated elegance to her look, a balance between casual comfort and a touch of personality through the bold jacket. “My father taught me a great many things. His lessons can be applied not only to the sport of professional wrestling but to life itself. Lesson number one is that while patience is indeed a virtue you never ever hesitate to seize the opportunity when it is right there before you.” The British Bombshell smirks knowingly. “I had the opportunity to win my third Trios Tournament alongside Gavin Taylor and a certain Magical Cosmic Princess, unfortunately it was not to be. Then on top of that I had to sit on the sidelines and just watch as Apocalypse went on without me. I had to watch as the superstars of SCW competed at this big event while I had nothing to do. But I knew that if I was patient that an opportunity would present itself. So I was patient and I watched; specifically I watched as Bree Lancaster challenged YUYO for the SCW Adrenaline Championship. It was quite the match. It was a match that could have gone either way. But The Princess reigned supreme…” Glory nods her head. “...so I seized upon the opportunity. The time for waiting and for patience had ended. YUYO, your next challenger is right here in front of you. You don’t have to worry about any threat from a foundation, no conspiracies, you don’t have to worry about Brittany Lohan because my pal is busy with issues of her own. It’s just me, it’s just you, and it isn’t about justice. It’s just about the SCW Adrenaline Championship. I played my part in Trios, I waited patiently at Apocalypse, and now I am ready to seize upon the opportunity.” Braddock holds up two fingers. “Lesson number two…never EVER stay idle, always stay prepared, remain prepared for anything. That’s really the only reason I was slightly miffed at not being booked for Apocalypse. I am not the kind of competitor who enjoys breaks and vacations. I always want to stay ready, to stay at the top of my game by constantly remaining active. That means taking on any challenge that SCW can put in front of me. I know that if I want to become Adrenaline Champion that I will have to be at the top of my game. Few have beaten Bree Lancaster even once, let alone twice back to back. YUYO did that and that in and of itself speaks to how good she is. If I want to dethrone the princess, I need to remain prepared. I need to be ready. I need to take on all comers so that I am up to the task.” She points a finger at the camera. “That’s where you come in, Sapphire. Some might look at you as very little threat to someone like me. I am a Supreme Champion in SCW. That means I’ve done it all and won it all. You? You debuted with a loss to Religious Wright of all people. Yet you showed your own grit and determination with a bounce back victory over Derek Adonis, a former multi-time Television Champion. You are deceptively good. You are the kind of competitor some might overlook, they might look past you towards bigger and better things, only to get bitten in the ass not realizing how capable you really are.” Braddock shakes her head. “Unfortunately for you, I am not that kind of person. This time you will not get a win because someone overlooked you or looked past you. You will not win because I underestimated you. I used to be that kind of person. I used to be that arrogant, egomaniac who would overlook the competition because I didn’t just think, I KNEW that I was the best in the world. But now? Things have changed. I have changed, Sapphire. I take every match and every competitor seriously. I look at every competitor as a serious threat to what I have built up in SCW, a threat to everything that I want to achieve in SCW.” Glory points a finger at the camera. “You are a threat to my opportunity at the SCW Adrenaline Championship, Sapphire. And I just can’t let that happen. I can’t let you threaten my opportunity. So on Breakdown you will get your chance to step into the ring with The British Bombshell, you will get the chance to prove to the world that your match against the idiot Religious Wright was just a fluke and what you did to Derek Adonis is what you are truly capable of. You are going to get an opportunity of your own, the opportunity to shock the world with an upset against the best wrestler in the world today. And I can see it in your eyes, I can sense it in the atmosphere, that is what you want. That’s what you need. Unfortunately for you, you won’t get that. You will be robbed of your opportunity because I WILL be wrestling at the top of my game. I will be wrestling at my very best and I will show you, everyone else in SCW, and especially a certain Magical Cosmic Princess why it isn’t just arrogance when I call myself the best.” “It’s damn near fact.” “Sapphire, I will give credit where it is due. You are good…just not as good as me.” |
