Rayne Young vs. Sean Michael Prime - Konrad Raab - 10-20-2024 2 RP Limit for singles 3500 Word Limit Per RP Deadline: 11:59:59 pm ET Wednesday, October 23, 2024 RE: Rayne Young vs. Sean Michael Prime - Cobra - 10-23-2024 ================================= OFF CAMERA ================================= The scene opens up in a nice suburban area at night. There's a park a little down the road, a lot of single storey brick houses, and well-maintained lawns and polished looking driveways. In short, this would be suburban bliss. The camera lingers on a single house though, a simple red-bricked home with a tiled roof. There's a nice big tree in the front yard with a tyre swing dangling from it, and as we pull back we can see inside the house via a nice big window on the front of the house. Inside a slightly chubby man with short cropped black hair and glasses is standing behind two little boys sitting at a table. His hands are on the back of their chairs, and helpfully points out some things they are doing on their homework. As the camera pulls back, we see a dark black but beaten Ford Mustang parked across the road in the darkness. And just visible in the front seat is Rayne Young. His eyes are on the window, watching with a long look on his face, and sitting back deep in his seat. There's a sad look in his eyes as he looks in at the man and the two boys, and then glances down at his feet and sighs. He's so lost in his thoughts, that he doesn't even notice the raven haired woman slipping up beside his car until she's knocking on his window, as Rayne jumps and looks across at her, his eyes widening in shock. This woman is Sara George and she casually opens the door and slips into the vacant passenger seat. "So, how is tonight's episode of The George Show? Anything exciting?" "Well, there's been a bit of a plot twist. Their hidden stalker was just confronted in his car." "Oh, I do so love a good plot twist. Though is it hidden when he's been watching them almost every other day for a month now?" Rayne chuckles softly, ignoring the look Sara is giving him for as long as he can, but then finally glancing up to see her eyes watching him, and he shakes his head. "How long have you known?" "Well, I know you might think you're being subtle and everything, arriving only after dark, and leaving in the middle of the night. But this is the suburbs. People pay attention to every car that rolls in." Sara turns and points at the house on the other side, where the curtains are drawn but there's just slightly visible a crack of light in them. "Bob watched you the first time or two, realised you were watching us, and gave us the heads up. He was going to call the police too, but when he described the car, Kyle stopped him. Told him you weren't a threat. Just an idiot." Rayne can't help but snort at that, and then sigh softly. "Sounds like Kyle. Protecting me even when I don't deserve it." "You really think that will ever change? You're his best friend. He's always going to have your back. That's just what he does. He doesn't even need to think about it most of the time." "I don't deserve that." "Oh, would you stop that?" Rayne looks over at Sara who is giving him a pointed look. He waits for a moment before Sara glances back at the window, nodding her head towards it and Rayne glances over at it, to see Kyle has left the boy's shoulders and moved towards the window, looking out at them. "He misses you, you know. Watches your matches and cheers for you. Checks the news sites to see how you're doing and what you're doing. I'm not saying you didn't hurt him, but he's long since forgiven you. That's what friends do. Now he just wants you to come and visit him." Rayne looks at his friend for a moment but then bows his head and turns towards Sara. "And what about, Alfie & Lucas?" "They ask about you all the time. At first, both were quiet and withdrawn, new surroundings and all that. Took us a while for them to get into a routine. But now they're in a specialized setting, they're communicating more with their peers and slowly making friends. They're both starting to blossom. But then they have these moments...." Sara's smile falters slightly and she looks past Rayne and towards the house window. Silence reigns in the car for a moment before she shakes her head. "I don't deserve that." "They both want their father back in their lives. Like every child does, and it's getting harder to explain to them why you aren't here when they can see you every other week on TV and wrestling. Lucas is your biggest fan, you know. Thinks you're a superhero fighting the bad guys. Alfie is Alfie, he doesn't register these things, he just asks for his mommy, which breaks my heart" "Yeah, I know. Breaks my heart as well." Rayne looks back towards the house, his eyebrows creasing as he just stares for a moment and then softly starts to speak. "I love those boys so much, they're my world. But I can't give them the life they had when it was me and Mari. For the past eight years, I've been present, thinking that's what they needed. But I destroy everything I touch. And I've already taken so much from them. They deserve a proper family unit, even though I long to be with them every minute of the day. Remembering the day they came into our lives. But good things aren't meant to happen to bad people." Rayne has a giant smile stretching his lips, but then it slowly falters a little. Sara spots it, reaching over to place her hand on his shoulder, and just that simple contact is enough to make him lose control, his head falling and the sound of some heavy sobs echoes around the Mustang. Rayne lifts his hands to cover his face, doing his best to hold back the tears, while Sara rubs his back comfortingly. It takes him a few moments to stop crying, but he finally does, looking up for a moment and sniffling away the tears before he looks out the car towards the window, where he sees Kyle has gone back to standing over Alfie and Lucas's shoulder. He glances out the window at some moments, but his focus is on the boys and their homework, and after a moment Rayne looks away and back at Sara, who merely smiles softly at him. "Come inside. See them. You know they'll forgive you. They don't really understand" "I know. But.....I'm not ready to forgive myself. Not yet." Sara's eyes run over his face, and she seems to understand. For all Rayne had done to build himself back up, for everything he's done to make himself a better man, there are still some things he can never forgive himself for. She pulls out a handkerchief and hands it to him, and he uses it to wipe away the last remains of the tears, before letting out a long breath and nodding. Sara merely smiles and reaches up to pat his shoulder. "I know you're not going to believe me, but they're both proud of you. Lucas and Kyle watch your matches together when you're on. He really enjoys what you're doing out there. They love their Daddy, and always will. So, whenever you're ready, you can come on by. Isn't that one of your 12 steps? Forgiveness?" "Step 8. I'll get there. But jus....I'm not there yet. Not yet." "Okay. You let us know when you are. We'll be here." "Thanks, Sara. I appreciate it. I really do. You and Kyle are the best things for the boys right now. I'll be back in their lives, one day." Rayne offers her a weak smile, and she turns to open the door and step out. He waits for the door to close, and then turns to see Kyle has left the boys again and moved to the window. The two men lock eyes for a moment, and Rayne gives him a small shake of his head, which Kyle seems to understand. Leaning back on his feet a little, he gives a small nod and then turns to head back to Alfie and Lucas, while Rayne fires up his Mustang and moves off quietly. There'll come a time when he needs to seek forgiveness with his sons and his best friend. But that day isn't today. ================================= ON CAMERA - Shoot ================================= `The scene opens up in a single room. All four rooms are painted black, and the only light in the room is a single light bulb dangling on a chain from the roof. Sitting underneath the light, wearing a simple sleeveless hoodie and jeans, is Rayne Young. He has his legs crossed, and his forearms are resting on his knees, his eyes closed for the moment but after a few seconds, his eyes widen and he looks up at the camera. Glancing at it for a moment and then speaking, his tone quiet but firm. Absolute belief behind every word as he speaks.' "Almost time." He spoke, the camera circling him. "On the outside, I questioned whether I was good enough to return, and although I beat Chase Upshaw, it was hardly the challenge I anticipated or wanted. I know my name means nothing to the higher uppers here at SCW. Everyone comes in with a clean slate, starting from the bottom no matter how much they've won in the past. I understand that, but CHBK, Mr. D, please at least start giving me challenges. Talent that will push me, talent that will make me go to the depths of hell to get the win. Chase wasn't it. And I don't believe Sean Michael Prime will be it either. May 2nd edition of Breakdown was the last time he appeared on SCW television. Unless I'm missing something? I tried to find out about him but got very little in return. All I know about him is, that he's a few years younger than me, but has only been doing this for four years. I wondered why, and digging deeper it seems Sean Michael Prime fell foul of the law and spent 12 years behind bars. So that's got me wondering just what the hell he's doing here. I might be past it, I might've been out of the business for the past eight years, but I've done so of my own volition. Sean, I was desperately hoping that you'd be a different challenge. A challenge that would keep me on my toes, but I'm starting to seriously doubt that. And with that in mind, I'm not going to waste my time and effort with you, until we come face to face at Breakdown. All this anger and frustration, Sean, you're going to feel the brunt of it. It's nothing personal, just business." |
