Frost No More

”Not Yet...”

Eyrie Tower
Manhattan, New York
August 3, 2026
4:37 p.m.

“This time...” Selena whispered. “You decide...”

For several seconds, Deanna Frost did not move, nor did she breathe properly. All she could do was simply stand there, her mind trying desperately to serve two desperate functions:

1 – Calm down her racing heart, fuelled by the fear that Selena was going to throw herself off the roof like she had promised a year ago.

2 – Make sense of what Selena was actually doing in front of her!

The wind moved around them, catching loose strands of Selena’s platinum-blonde hair and a bit of her braid. Manhattan continued exactly as it always had. They were too high up to hear every sound fully, but the occasional horn, bus, yelling managed to make its way up to them – though no one on the balcony really heard it.

Loud, full, oblivious - The city did not care that Deanna’s entire world had just compressed itself into the space between Selena’s fingers.

Her wedding ring.

The one Deanna had worn for more than a decade. The one she had continued wearing through separation, divorce, anger, humiliation and every miserable month/year in which calling Selena her wife had no longer been legally accurate...

It had disappeared from her belongings only days ago. And Selena held it between her thumb and forefinger... Knelt down before her.

Deanna just continued to stare. Behind her, she could hear the children breathing, which seemed ridiculous as she slowly thought of it. Of all the things her mind could choose to notice, it was Amiliah breathing too quickly through her nose. David’s sneaker scraping against the balcony floor, and Elsianna shifting her weight somewhere behind Deanna’s right shoulder...

And yet, nobody spoke. There was no speech. No justification. No carefully constructed explanation about why this was happening. No revelation of some ‘master plan’ but the Snow Queen.

She was simply waiting, sapphire eyes never leaving Deanna.

Another few breaths and, slowly, the redhead’s voice returned. “You took it.”
Selena’s eyes lowered. “Yes.”

It was such a simple answer that Deanna almost laughed. And maybe she would have, if not for the feeling of something hot twisting inside her chest. “You took my wedding ring.”

“Yes.”
“From my bag.”
“Yes.”
“Without asking me.”
Selena swallowed. “Yes.”

There it was.

A tiny flash of the woman Deanna knew too well. The woman who had spent years believing that if she could endure enough punishment without defending herself, the punishment might eventually balance whatever ledger existed in her head.

Deanna’s jaw tightened. “Stop that.”
Selena blinked. “Stop what?”
“That.”
“I’m answering you.”
“No, you’re standing there-” Deanna flinched in realization. “Kneeling.”

For the first time, the corner of Selena’s mouth moved. It wasn’t quite a smile, but Deanna hated that she noticed. She hated even more that it made something inside her flutter.

Gazing down at the ring in her hand, Selena gave a slight shrug. “I took it because I saw it.”
“Oh! That clears everything up.” the redhead laughed.
“I know.”
“Selena...”

The Snow Queen exhaled slowly, knowing such humour, given the situation, was only working the last of her partner’s patience. “When I saw it in your things, I...” Her fingers curled slightly around the ring. “I realized you were still carrying something I had no right to assume belonged to me anymore.”

“You saw the ring and decided what it meant for me.” Deanna’s voice cut through the air, silencing the former world champion as the redhead stepped forward. “You decided I was carrying something that belonged to you. You decided maybe I shouldn’t be. You decided you had no right to it. You decided what I deserved.” Her voice cracked on the last word, while Selena looked as if she had been struck.

Deanna closed her eyes. “Gods...” she sighed in agitation.

“I shouldn’t have taken it.” Selena slowly admitted.
“No.”
“I can put it down.”
Deanna’s eyes snapped open. “No.”

The word came hard enough that everyone behind Deanna seemed to become even quieter. “That’s not what I said.”

Deanna looked down at the ring again - For years, she had kissed it before leaving for matches... A stupid little ritual.

Not stupid... Private.

A promise she had made without ever saying it aloud.

Remember who you chose.
Remember why you fight.
Remember who you are trying to come home to.

Even when there had been no coming home to Selena.
Even when the house had contained an empty side of the bed.
Even when the office stayed untouched.
Even when Deanna bought orange pekoe tea for someone who wasn’t there to drink it.

The ring had remained... and Selena had taken it, then brought it here. To the place where, one year earlier, Deanna had begged Selena to give them time.

Deanna’s throat tightened at the sheer weight of it all. “What are you asking me?”

Selena did not answer immediately, which only frightened Deanna further.

Finally, Selena looked at the ring. “I don’t know.”

Deanna almost recoiled at the answer, but Selena continued before she could.

“I think that’s the point.” The answer stopped the younger woman. “If I tell you what this means, then I’m doing exactly what you said.”

Deanna stared, refusing to speak as Selena’s next words filled her. “I could call it a proposal.” She felt her heart skip a beat. “I could call it asking you to take me back.” It did it again. “I could call it asking you to forgive me. I could call it asking if there’s still a place for me in that house.” Again and again, Deanna was sure she’d collapse from just the woman’s words!

Behind her, Amiliah made a tiny sound, causing Selena’s eyes to briefly move toward the children before returning to Deanna. “But those are all things I want.” Her gaze dropped again. “And I’ve spent too long deciding that what I want somehow gives me the right to define what something means for everyone else.”

Selena slowly opened her hand again, showing the ring once more. “So I’m giving it back.” She looked up back at Deanna. “What happens after that is yours.”

The tears came anyway, despite Deanna’s best efforts. She turned her head sharply, staring toward the skyline as if Manhattan might somehow offer assistance - It did not. Of course it didn’t.

A hundred emotions raged within her, a storm she had no chance of being able to control. How long had she dreamed of this? Prayed for this? Wanted this with every part of her? How long had she dreaded it? Feared what it meant? Believed it could never happen? How long had she hated herself for wanting it? After everything...

A small hand – a spread of warmth - touched hers, causing her to gaze down.

Amiliah gazed back at her. Her youngest daughter stared up at her with enormous green eyes.

“Are you going to marry Mother again?”

Elsianna groaned. “Ami.”
“What?”
“Maybe don’t ask that right now.” the eldest advised.
“But that’s what this is.” Amiliah pressed.
David shifted awkwardly. “I don’t think anybody knows what this is.”
“Mother is on one knee with a ring!” Ami reasoned before casting her eyes back to her mothers, Deanna last.

“Ami...” Deanna barely managed. The child looked up at her earnestly, but she had no idea how to answer her daughter. “I... I don’t know.”

Amiliah frowned, causing Deanna to squeeze her hand. “That’s not a bad answer.”

The little girl clearly disagreed but, remarkably, stayed quiet, which was enough to let Deanna return her attention back to Selena.

She had not moved.

A year ago, Deanna had found her beyond the railing. Today Selena would not even move from one knee unless Deanna asked.

The contrast hurt.

Because part of Deanna wanted to close the distance immediately. Part of her wanted to take Selena by the face, pull her to her feet and say ‘yes’ to whatever version of forever Selena was brave enough to offer.

Her heart had already answered. It had never been particularly subtle where Selena was concerned.

It remembered snowstorms.
Their first home.
Birthdays.
Hospital rooms.
Christmases and Yuletides.
Fights resolved at two in the morning.
Arguments over which parent had ruined dinner.
Almost a decade of ordinary things that had become extraordinary only after they disappeared.

Deanna loved her - That had never been the difficult truth. The difficult truth was that love had not saved them...

Taking a deep breath, Deanna slowly moved her hand from Amiliah’s. “I want to say yes.” she confessed to her entire family. She saw Selena’s entire body change – almost imperceptible. Shoulders drew tighter. Breath caught... Hope was cruel that way.

Deanna felt her own tears spill at the knowledge – she knew Selena so well. Better than anyone inside and outside SCW.

“And that’s why I can’t.”

A cold silence filled the space, all three of the Frost children showing different expressions in reaction to their parents’ words. Deanna turned back to the kneeling woman just in time to see Selena’s eyes close.

“Not yet.” Deanna’s own words caused those same eyes to open, as she stepped forward until only a few feet remained between them. “I need you to hear all of that.”

Slowly, actually nervous, Selena nodded.

“No.” Deanna shook her head. “Don’t just nod because you think this is where you’re supposed to accept whatever I say.” The slightest flicker of irritation crossed Selena’s features – causing a smile to almost form on across Deanna’s features. “Say something.”

Selena looked at her for a long moment. “What would you like me to say?”
“There she is.”
Selena’s brow furrowed. “That was irritating.”
“It was supposed to be.”

Another tiny almost-smile came to the redhead, but she forced herself to refocus, taking a steely breath to steady herself.

“I love you.” She stared down the woman she had looked up to for so many years, then loved beyond measure for even longer. The woman that had been the strongest person in her life, then the most pained and tortured, then the most lost and broken, then... then... then... but always back to that one truth.

“I love you, Selena.” she saw the Snow Queen’s throat move. “I know I’ve said it before. I know I’ve shown it in some incredibly stupid ways.”

“That makes two of us.”
Elsianna cleared her throat. “Probably more than two.”
“Definitely more than two.” David added, causing Elsianna to elbow him. “What? You got to talk-”
“Quiet.” Elsianna whisper-ordered.

Deanna laughed at that. She couldn’t help it. Then she looked back at Selena. “I forgive you.”
Selena stared at her, surprised. “For what? There’s a rather extensive list.”

Despite everything, Deanna laughed again. “Fine.” She took another step. “I forgive you for forging my name.” Selena’s gaze dropped. “I forgive you for taking the opportunity I earned because you convinced yourself you knew what I needed better than I did.” Selena swallowed. “I forgive you for the NX.” A wince. “The drinking.” Another. “The things you said.” Selena’s eyes shone. “I forgive you for running.”

That one landed deepest. Deanna saw it.

“But forgiveness doesn’t erase any of those things.” she refused to lose her resolve now.
“I know.” Selena nodded.
“And it doesn’t make me trust you the way I used to.”
“I know.”
“It doesn’t put you back in the house.”
“I know.”
“It doesn’t put us back in the same bed in the same way as before.”
“I know.” Selena nodded in understanding, creating a pool of relief in Deanna.

“And it doesn’t make this-” Deanna pointed between them.“-ready.”

“I know.” another nod from the platinum-blonde.

Deanna studied her face. There was no argument.
No bargaining.
No declaration that Selena could prove everything immediately.
No sudden offer to surrender wrestling, leave New York, relinquish the Tag Titles or wander into exile until Deanna changed her mind...

Just pain... and acceptance.

Deanna crouched before her, seeing the former world champion’s eyes widen. “I’m scared.” she admitted.

Selena’s expression softened. “I know-”

“No. I don’t think you do.” Deanna took a breath. “I’m scared because I know how easy it would be for me to pretend that everything is okay or pretend that none of this ever happened.”

Selena said nothing.

“I could say yes right now.” Deanna’s voice weakened. “I could go home and open your side of the closet. I could put the tea back where you keep it. I could move my pillow six inches to the left and wake up tomorrow pretending the last two years were some horrible detour.” The tears returned to her eyes. “And I would be happy.”

That admission hurt more than anything else...

“For a while.” she sighed “And then something would happen. Not necessarily something huge. Maybe I make a decision you hate. Maybe you lose a match. Maybe I win something you think you should’ve had. Maybe Elsa says something angry or does something. Maybe SCW puts us on opposite sides of something again.”

“But we’re the tag-team-” Selena stopped herself, not letting her instincts talk any further.

“I know.” Deanna repeated Selena’s overused phrase for today. “But any of that could happen... and I would spend every second waiting. Waiting for you to leave. To run. To make a decision for us – for all of us.” she eyed their children for a second before returning to Selena, seeing the platinum-blonde’s head lower. She reached out and touched Selena’s chin, causing her to look back up. “And you would spend every second waiting for me to realize I made a mistake taking you back.”

Something broke across Selena’s face. “Yes.”
“That’s not a marriage.”
“No.”
“That’s two people waiting for the building to collapse.”
Selena’s voice barely existed. “Yes.”

Deanna removed her hand. “That’s why I can’t say yes.” She inhaled slowly. “But I’m not saying no.”

She felt something in herself settle – not disappear. Just... settle. There was a difference.

“I don’t want another grand promise.” Selena gave a weak laugh at that.
“I appear to be very poor at those.” she replied.

“I want...” Deanna tried before finally having her thoughts together. “I want Tuesdays.”
Selena blinked. “What?”
“Tuesdays.”

Deanna pushed herself upright. Selena remained kneeling, staring up at her. “I want boring.”
“That may be the least flattering proposal response anyone has ever received.” Selena remarked.
“I’m serious.”
“So am I.”

Deanna folded her arms. “I want to know whether we can have dinner without turning it into a referendum on our entire relationship.” She continued. “I want to know whether you can disagree with me without deciding I’d be happier if you vanished. I want to know whether I can be angry with you without immediately wondering if I’m about to lose you.”

“I want school nights.” the redhead continued. “Grocery lists. Elsa being mad at both of us for completely different reasons.”
“I am confident she can accomplish that.”
“I can hear you.” Elsianna shot out behind them.
“I know.” Selena shot back, causing Elsianna to roll her eyes.

Deanna smiled despite herself. “I want to know whether we can survive ordinary life. Because we already know we can survive disasters!”

Selena looked at the ring again. “That...makes an unfortunate amount of sense.”
“Thank you.”
“It wasn’t a compliment.”
“I’ll take what I can get.”

Deanna finally looked at Selena’s open palm. Slowly, she reached down and picked it up.

Ten years.
Three children.
A marriage.
A divorce.
Two years – more really - of hell.

All of it represented by something that weighed less than a coin.

Deanna held it between her fingers. “If I put this back on-”
Selena immediately answered. “It doesn’t mean yes.”

Deanna stopped and their eyes met.

“No.” Selena corrected. “It means whatever you decide it means.”

Deanna looked at the ring. Then slowly slid it onto her finger, seeing it settle into the indentation it had left behind.

Home.

“I’m sorry I took it.” Selena’s words brought her back.
“I’m still angry you did.”
“I know.”
“Good.” She eyed Selena. “Do not steal my jewelry again.”
“That seems reasonable.”
“Any of it.”
Selena laughed a little. “I wasn’t planning an escalation.”
“You stole the wedding ring. There aren’t many places to escalate.”

Selena’s expression became thoughtful. “The tiara?”

Deanna slapped a hand over her mouth and laughed - It escaped anyway.

Behind them, Amiliah giggled, David following suit. Even Elsianna’s expression cracked.

For several seconds, the Eyrie balcony held something it had never held for the Frost family before... Laughter.

Eventually, Deanna lowered her hand. Selena was still kneeling.

“How asleep are your legs right now?” Deanna asked.
“Alot.” Selena admitted. “I actually have been unable to get up for about five minutes.”
“Oh, for the love of-”

Quickly, Deanna pulled Selena to her feet, the Snow Queen’s eyes never leaving hers.

“Are you sure?” she asked hesitantly.
“Selena.”
“Right.”

Reaching her full height, both women realized that they ended up closer than either intended. Deanna’s breath caught, and she heard Selena’s catch as well; their hands remained joined.

For one dangerous second, she thought Selena might kiss her. For one even more dangerous second, she wanted her to.

Selena didn’t. She waited... Again.

Deanna hated how much that mattered. Her eyes dropped to Selena’s lips before she could stop them.

“Do you want me to?” Deanna looked back at her, seeing Selena immediately regret asking.
“No.” she answered. “Not yet.” She felt something warm and miserable passed between them.
Selena exhaled. “Your new favourite phrase.”
“Get used to it.”
“I suppose I should.”

Deanna squeezed Selena’s hand before releasing it. Then she turned toward the children. All three stared. Amiliah looked personally betrayed by the lack of kissing. David looked relieved that nobody had died.

Elsianna simply looked at Selena - that was the harder one. Her eyes moved to Deanna’s hand that wore the ring. “So... what happens now?”

Deanna opened her mouth but stopped. A month ago, she might have answered for everyone. A year ago, Selena certainly would have. Instead, Deanna looked at Selena but neither spoke.

Elsianna’s brows rose. “Seriously?!”
Deanna smiled faintly. “I think we figure that out.”
“Together?” Amiliah asked hopefully.

“Yes.” Deanna answered. “Slowly.”
Selena nodded. “Slowly.”
“Alright.” Elsianna nodded. “That’s good enough for now.”

To the side, David shoved his hands into his pockets. “So... are we done with the terrifying emotional stuff?”
“No.” Elsianna answered automatically.
“Probably never.” Selena tried in a gentler tone than her daughter’s.
David sighed. “I knew it.”

Amiliah tugged Deanna’s shirt, gaining the redhead’s attention. “Can Mother come home?”

Every adult expression changed. Eventually, Deanna crouched in front of her. “Not like before.”
Amiliah frowned. “But can she come?”

Deanna looked past her to Selena. The woman just stood there, waiting for Deanna’s answer. The redhead quickly looked down at the ring.

One day... One ordinary thing... the thought and answer came to her at once and she stood to her feet.

“Dinner.” she stated, gazing back at Selena. “You can come to dinner.”

For a moment Selena simply stared. Then, “Okay.” That was all.

David immediately asked, “What are we having?” effectively breaking any lingering tension.
“I don’t know.”
“Pizza!” Amiliah declared.
“Pizza isn’t romantic!” Elsianna reasoned.
“It’s Italian!” David countered. “If Spaghetti is romantic in Lady and the Tramp – so’s pizza!”
“Yeah!” Amiliah declared.

Selena glanced toward Deanna. “Chinese?”
Deanna glared. “You remember what happened last time you ordered Chinese.”
Selena’s brow furrowed. “That was not my fault.”
“You ordered enough food for fourteen people.”
“I was accounting for leftovers.”
“For a month?”
“Growing children!”
David looked offended. “I ate most of it.”
Selena gestured at him. “Thank you.”
“That doesn’t help your case.” Deanna said.

The argument followed them toward the elevator. It was absurd and small and completely unimportant...

And Deanna loved every second of it.

At the doors, however, Selena slowed. The others entered first. Elsianna stood at the back, arms folded, David leaned against the wall, and Amiliah repeatedly stabbed the button for the lobby despite the fact that it had already illuminated.

Deanna looked at her as she stepped inside. “What?” the redhead asked.

Selena glanced toward the balcony, then back toward Deanna. “I just...”

The old hesitation. The old instinct to ask whether she was truly allowed.

Recognizing it immediately, Deanna extended her hand. “Dinner.” she stated calmly and patiently.

Selena looked at it... then stepped into the elevator.

The doors began to close. For one last instant, Deanna could see the balcony beyond them. The place where one year ago she had promised that if nothing changed, she would return and let Selena go.

The doors narrowed the image... Then erased it.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Deanna looked down at her hand. The ring sat exactly where it had for more than ten years, and Selena stood beside her.

Not wife.
Not stranger.
Not forgiven enough to erase the past.
Not condemned enough to lose the future.

Something... between.
Something unfinished.

The elevator started downward, the jolt causing Selena’s shoulder to gently brush hers. Neither moved away. And for the first time in a very long time, Deanna did not need to know what happened at the bottom.

Not yet...

RE: Hollywood vs. Deanna Frost & Selena Frost - SnowQueenSCW - 10-06-2026

OOC: Takes place following Deanna’s first BD roleplay.

Scars of a Fascade

”The Weight She Carried”

Somewhere between Minneapolis and Montreal
October 2nd, 2026
6:14 a.m.

Selena Frost had once believed there were few sounds more offensive than an alarm clock. The sound of Deanna Frost insisting she was awake while very obviously still asleep had taken the crown.

“I’m awake.”

Selena stared across the hotel suite. Deanna had not moved. She remained face-down across the bed with one arm hanging over the side. The blankets had twisted around one leg sometime during the night. Three championship belts sat on the dresser opposite her.

“Red.” Selena tried from where she stood by the window.
“I said I’m awake.”
“You have been saying that for eleven minutes.”
“Because you keep asking.”
“You haven't opened your eyes.”
“That seems unnecessarily technical.” Deanna whined.

Slowly, VERY slowly, Deanna finally lifted her head. Her red hair had reached a state that would have required significant effort to accomplish deliberately. One emerald eye opened... then the other as she stared at Selena.

“What time is it?” she half-asked, half-drooled.
“Six-fifteen.”

Deanna immediately dropped her face back into the pillow. “No...” she further whined.
“Yes.”
“We went to sleep at two.”
“You went to sleep at two.” Selena corrected.
“What did you do?”
“Several things.”
“That sounds ominous.”

Selena glanced toward the small table beside the window, Deanna following her gaze.

Printed boarding passes.
Two coffees.
A bottle of water.
A small container of fruit.
Protein bars.
The itinerary Frank Delatosso had handed Deanna the night before, now marked with several notes in Selena’s precise handwriting.

Deanna lifted her head again. “You reorganized my schedule...”

Selena stiffened.

“I highlighted the transportation windows.” Selena shrugged.
“That sounds like reorganizing.”

Selena’s sapphire eyes narrowed as  Deanna pushed herself upright, yawning.

Finally, the redhead tilted her head at the Snow Queen. “I’m kidding.”  She stuck her tongue out playfully.

“I am aware.” Selena stated but stopped herself from saying more.

I want to know whether we can survive ordinary life. Then, inevitably: Not yet.

Almost two months had done very little to weaken those two syllables...

They had followed Selena through Detroit.
Through Rise to Greatness.
Through the trainers’ room after Ryan LeCavalier had tried to remove her arm from its socket.
Through the moment Selena had held the World Championship in her hands after Deanna defeated Amelia Nevado.
Through the strange, impossible pride that had filled her chest when she placed it into Deanna’s hands.
Through dinners, phone calls, school pickups, a movie night Selena had been invited to and another she had not...

Not yet...

Deanna swung her legs over the side of the bed, wincing as her feet touched the floor.

“Your knee?” Selena asked.
“My everything.” Deanna sighed.
“You should tell someone.”
“I just did.”
“A medical professional.” Selena chastised.
“You're very bossy for someone who isn't reorganizing my schedule.”

Selena glanced at the itinerary. “I highlighted it.”
“You circled three flights.”
“One of them has a forty-two minute connection through Chicago.”
“And?”

“And Frank Delatosso apparently believes airplanes teleport.” She saw Deanna roll her eyes and rub her face before continuing. “The flight lands at nine-fifteen. Customs will take at least twenty minutes if things move efficiently. Your driver is scheduled for ten, but the autograph appearance begins at eleven-thirty on the opposite side of Montreal. Then the media spot is immediately afterward, followed by the venue call, followed by-”

She stopped as she saw that Deanna was staring at her.

Embarrassed, Selena placed the itinerary back on the table. “Sorry.”
Deanna’s expression softened. “No. Keep going.”
“I was doing it again.”

“A little.” Deanna stood slowly, every movement betrayed more soreness than she wanted to admit. “But I didn't ask you to stop.”

Reaching the coffee, Deanna picked up one cup, took a sip, made a face, then handed it over to Selena.

“This one is yours.”
“Obviously.”
“Why?”
“Because yours has enough sugar in it to qualify as syrup.”

Deanna switched cups and took a sip, her eyes closing in relief.

The deja vu hit Selena profoundly. Years ago, there had been mornings like this. Different hotels and cities and championships. Selena remembered barely looking up while Deanna packed her gear.

Which airport?
JFK.
No, for IWC.
Oh. Newark.
And ULW?
LaGuardia tomorrow.

Selena had complained about the travel, about promoters, about call times, about media appearances, about opponents who talked too much and interviewers who asked stupid questions.

Deanna had stood somewhere nearby with a laptop open, rearranging rental cars and accommodations and taking it all with ease.

Selena remembered those years as exhausting, and it had been, wrestling in three federations at once... but she had never once considered what they must have been for Deanna...

Until now.

Deanna noticed her staring. “What?”
“Nothing.”
“You do that a lot.”
“What?”
“Look like you're having an argument with somebody who isn't here.”

Selena lifted an eyebrow. “Perhaps I enjoy intelligent conversation.”
Deanna smiled. “Better.”
“What?”
“That.”
Selena frowned. “The insult?”
“You.” The smile remained on Deanna’s face – a little smitten.

Selena looked away first - Not yet.... – picking up the itinerary. “We should leave in sixteen minutes.”
Deanna groaned. “Seventeen.”
“That is not how time works.”
“World Champion says it does.”

Selena looked at the three belts, chuckling at that. “You are becoming unbearable.”

Deanna grinned at that, slowly waking up more and more... just as Selena was hating how more... and easier and easier... it was to love her...

9:42 p.m.

She stood behind the curtain, quietly watching. She had spent thousands of nights there: Waiting for her music, listening to crowds chant her name, listening to them boo it, feeling the particular vibration...

Tonight none of it belonged to her.

The graphic on the monitors read:

SPECIAL ATTRACTION
SCW WORLD CHAMPION
DEANNA FROST

Selena stared at it, all her senses on high. She saw a young wrestler several feet away, stretching a hamstring against a production crate. He had spent the previous ten minutes talking to another competitor about Deanna...

“I just want five minutes.”
“You'd get killed.”
“Doesn’t matter. Five minutes with the SCW World Champion? People remember that.”
“You want her belt.”
“Of course I want her belt.”

Selena’s eyes moved toward them but neither noticed as they continued their conversation.

“I've watched SCW since I was twelve!” the younger wrestler continued. “You see people like Frost holding that thing and think... that's it? That's the top.”

Which Frost? The reflex came and went with the thought. The boy meant Deanna. For years, if someone said “Frost” and “World Champion” in the same sentence, there had been no ambiguity.

Selena Frost.
The Snow Queen.
The Face of SCW.

The woman who had spent years convincing herself the championship did not merely prove she was the best wrestler in the world... It proved she existed.

Now another Frost carried it. And Selena...

“Excuse me?” the voice caught her attention and she turned her head, seeing that the younger wrestler had finally noticed her.

“Oh. Shit.” he remarked, recognizing her instantly.
Selena raised an eyebrow. “Compelling opening.”
“I- sorry. You're Selena Frost.”
“So I’ve been told.”
“I didn't-”
“Realize I was standing here?”
“Yes.” he muttered. “I grew up watching you too.” he added.

Selena felt the old ego bristle. She could almost hear the Blue-Eyed Devil asking whether this child had any idea who he was speaking to.

Five Rise to Greatness main events.
World Championship reigns.
History.
Records.
A career built on entire companies revolving around her-

Then the crowd beyond the curtain erupted. Selena turned as “People Like Us” echoed through the building. Nearby, the monitor showed Deanna bursting onto the stage in emerald and black gear, the World Championship fastened around her waist.

The crowd stood and roared.

The young wrestler, meanwhile, moved beside Selena to watch.

“That's what I want.”

Selena looked at him as he stared at the screen - Not at Deanna exactly, but at the reaction. She understood... Better than she wished she did.

“No.” she said knowingly, regaining his attention. “You think you do.”

The boy looked at her confused.

“You want what you think that feels like.” she watched Deanna climb the turnbuckle and hold the title overhead. “The rest is heavier.”

Before the wrestler could ask, Selena moved away. Because she had finally learned that some warnings were useless until someone had earned the scars required to understand them.

On the monitor, Deanna handed the World Championship to the referee. Her opponent entered and the bell rang. Selena did not take her eyes off the screen for anything. Twenty-one minutes of that, however, and seeing Deanna take a German suplex that folded her badly across the shoulders...

Her hands clenched. On the screen, Deanna rolled onto one side. The official checked her, but she waved him away, pushing herself up. Her opponent charged – and Deanna caught him with the Burnout!

The crowd erupted but Selena exhaled only when the referee’s hand hit the mat for the third time.

“She’s really good.” Selena finally looked, seeing the young wrestler had stayed nearby.
“She is.” the platinum-blonde agreed.

There was a moment of silence between the two as they watched Deanna continue to celebrate a successful title defence.

“You two still tag together, right?”
Selena glanced at him at the impromptu question. “Yes.”
He half-laughed. “That's insane.”
“Again. Compelling.”
“No, I mean - you and the World Champion.”

Selena almost corrected that too. Instead... she shrugged. “She's also one half of the World Tag Team Champions.”

“Right. Sorry.” He hesitated for a moment. “So... you're her partner.”

Before she could answer, the curtain moved as Deanna stepped through - sweaty, exhausted, her championship over one shoulder. She immediately spotted Selena and her expression changed. She became relaxed.

“You saw that suplex?” she asked.
Selena folded her arms. “No.”
“Liar.”
“It was appalling.”
“The suplex?”
“Your decision to land on your neck.”
“I’ll work on that.”
“You will.”

Deanna smiled. She moved closer and quietly extended the championship.

Selena looked at it, then at Deanna. “What?”
“Hold this.”
“Why?”
“I need both hands.”
“For?”

Deanna pulled the straps loose on one wrist. Selena quietly accepted the World Championship. The weight landed across her forearms – familiar but different.

There had been a time when holding that championship after someone else's match would have felt like temptation. Or theft. Or loss.

Now it was simply Deanna's...

Deanna turned away and started undoing the other wrist tape. Seeing the young wrestler still there, Selena turned her head to him.

“Her partner.” she finally answered, watching him immediately disappear from her cold glare.

It was barely enough for Deanna to notice, regarding Selena. “What did you do?”
“Nothing.”
“That usually means something.”

Selena could only give a shrug as she handed the title back to Deanna when the redhead was ready.

“So...” Deanna asked, adjusting the title over her shoulder. “Where to next?”

Mexico City, Mexico
October 5th, 2026
11:31 p.m.

Deanna fell asleep before the car left the arena parking lot. Selena noticed because Deanna’s head struck the window...

Hard.

Her eyes opened. “What?”
“You attempted to headbutt Mexico.” Selena suppressed the small laugh in her throat.
“I’m fine.”
“Sure.” Selena shook her head.

“I just blinked.”
“For forty seconds.”
“Long blink.”

Selena watched as Deanna shifted away from the window. The World Championship sat across the redhead’s lap. The Adrenaline Championship occupied the seat between them and their Tag Team Championships rested against Selena’s thigh.

Three championships – four belts between them.

Selena looked at them. Then at Deanna.

“Give me your phone.”
“No.”
Selena’s eyes narrowed. Deanna kept hers closed. “You didn't even ask why.” the older Frost tried.
“Because every sentence beginning with ‘give me your phone’ is bad.”
“I want to check tomorrow.”
“I know tomorrow.”
“Do you?”
“Flight at seven. Media at eleven. Gym at one. Appearance at three. Pittsburgh flight at six.”

Selena stared at her in surprise as Deanna opened one eye.

“See?”
“When are you sleeping?”
“Now.”
“This is a bus.”
“Very observant.”
“You wrestled thirty-four minutes tonight.
“Thirty-two.” Deanna’s eye closed.

Gazing out, Selena watched the traffic crawl. The ‘Believe it or Not’ bus had become – with some prodding from management – Deanna Frost’s ‘World Tour’ bus for all her defences and travels. Selena was happy to make it that for Deanna... just not for Delatosso’s ‘itinerary’...

Deanna’s breathing began to even out again as she lay beside Selena, the Snow Queen’s fingers tightening around the tag championship. She hadn’t said anything to Deanna yet... but it had to be obvious by now.

Sooner or later, they would have to defend the tag-team titles. Selena didn't need proof to suspect what Delatosso was trying to accomplish. And while she couldn’t do much for Deanna as the world and adrenaline champion... She could shoulder what belonged to her as Deanna's tag-team partner.

Watching her, Selena saw Deanna’s head start to tip toward the window again. Before it could strike the glass again, Selena placed one hand between them. Deanna’s temple landed against her palm.

Slowly, carefully, she guided Deanna away from the window, her head coming to rest against Selena’s shoulder.

No one noticed. Not Deanna murmured something unintelligible or Selena freezing at the contact.

Breathing slowly, she just looked down. The wedding ring was visible against Deanna’s stomach where her left hand rested.

Not yet...

Selena swallowed and she forced her eyes to return to the road. She did not move until they had reached the hotel twenty-seven minutes later, Deanna waking when the car stopped. Making their way into the hotel room after the check-in, Selena placed the title belts on the table, seeing Deanna immediately reaching for her luggage.

“Shower.” Selena said.

Deanna stopped just as Selena heard herself speak. Sighing, she closed her eyes in frustration.

“Sorry.”
Deanna leaned against the suitcase. “You really are struggling with this.”
“Yes.”
“With telling me what to do.”
“Yes.”
A faint smile crossed the redhead’s lips. “Must be hell.”
“You have no idea.” Selena confessed.

Every instinct screamed inside her head:

Cancel the morning appearance.
Move the flight.
Call CHBK.
Call Frank.
Tell everyone Deanna Frost had done enough.
Decide. Fix. Protect. Control.

Selena pushed her hands into the pockets of her jacket. “What do you need?” she asked. “What do you need from me?”

Deanna stared at her, a little surprised. For several seconds, the only sound came from the air conditioner. Then she sat on the edge of the bed.

“I don’t know.” she answered honestly. “I thought I could do this.”
“You are doing it.”
“You know what I mean.”

Deanna looked toward the three titles. “I wanted this.” she admitted. “And now every time I'm tired, part of me feels guilty.”

Selena frowned. “Why?”
“Because this is what people dream about.”

Selena remembered the young wrestler back in Montreal. That's what I want.

Meanwhile, Deanna gestured towards the titles.  “Do you know how stupid it sounds to complain about being World Champion?”

“Yes.” Selena shrugged. “It sounded stupid when I did it too.”

That earned a reluctant laugh, but then a sigh from Deanna. “I don't want Frank to be right. That I can't carry it.”

“I don't think carrying it means never putting it down.” Deanna’s eyes lifted at Selena, who merely shrugged, gesturing towards the world title. “I learned that somewhat late.”

“Understatement.” Deanna smiled faintly.

Selena continued. “You have three championships. You have children. You have whatever absurd international campaign Frank has invented. You have SCW. You have-”

She stopped, catching herself from saying ‘me.’. “Everything else.” she finished but  Deanna noticed. Still, Selena pressed on. “Being capable of carrying something does not mean you must refuse to let anyone touch it.”

“Still...” Selena shrugged. “I think I owe you an apology.”

Deanna’s brow furrowed.

“Years ago.” the platinum-blonde explained. “When I was wrestling everywhere.”

Understanding slowly entered Deanna’s face.

“I thought I was exhausted.” Selena laughed.
“You were.”
“I was also insufferable.”
“Sometimes.”
Selena glanced back. “Could you allow me one minute?”
“No.” A pause. “Continue.”

Selena rolled her eyes. “You carried all of it. Flights, bookings, gear, eventually the children – Me.” Selena’s voice lowered. “And I called it support as if that made the weight disappear.”

Deanna looked down. “I chose it.”
“I know.” Selena stepped closer. “That doesn't mean I noticed. Like I do now.”

Deanna swallowed.

“Perhaps that's the point.” Selena whispered.
“What?”
“I can't undo it.” Her eyes returned to Deanna. “But I can understand it. So...”

She sat beside Deanna on the bed. “What do you need?”

This time Deanna answered... “You.”

Selena froze, shock across every feature of her face.

Deanna immediately sighed. “Don't make that face. Not like that – not yet.”
“Could you maybe have chosen your words more carefully then?” Selena sighed, somewhat amused and annoyed at the same time.

Standing up, Deanna walked over to the table and picked up the itinerary... then handed it over to Selena. “I need you to keep me organized.”

Selena blinked. “That is considerably less romantic.”
“Good.”

Slowly, Selena took the itinerary as Deanna pointed at it.

“Flights. Hotels. Appearances. Tell me when I'm about to accidentally agree to be in two countries at the same time.”
“That has already happened twice.” Selena remarked.
“I know.”
“And if I think you're doing too much?”

Deanna hesitated for a split second. “Tell me. But don't decide for me.”

There it was... and Selena nodded. “I can do that.”
“If I say no?”
“I complain.”
“Reasonable.”
“Possibly swear.”
“Expected.”
“Then you decide.”

Deanna looked at her, smiling.

“Anything else?” Selena asked, waving the itinerary in her hand.

“Make sure I eat. Also...” Deanna hesitated. “Come with me.”

“To Pittsburgh?” she eyed the paper.
“To all of it.”
“Red-”
“Not because I can't do it alone. Not because-”
“I know.”

Deanna stopped, both women gazing down at the itinerary now:

Montreal.
Mexico City.
Mumbai.
Pittsburgh.

Once, Deanna had followed Selena across the world because Selena had been too consumed with proving she could carry everything to notice how much Deanna carried beside her.

Now Deanna was asking.

Carefully, Selena folded the itinerary and placed it carefully into her jacket.

“Okay.” was all she allowed herself to say, rather than express the joy she felt in her heart at Deanna’s request. “What time do you want to wake up?”

Deanna considered. “Six.”
“Your flight is seven.”
“Six.”
“You need to leave at five-thirty.”
“Selena.”
“Five.”
“Absolutely not!”
“Five-fifteen.”
“Five-thirty.”
“You are bargaining with physics.”
“Five-twenty.”

Selena sighed. “Fine.”
Deanna smiled. “See? Healthy compromise.”
“You are impossible.”
“You love me.”

Immediately, Selena went still as did Deanna at the slip. The sentence had escaped naturally. Neither woman knew what to do with it.

Not yet...

And yet... what else could be said but the truth?

“Yes.” Selena stated simply. “Maybe I love you.”

Deanna's expression softened as Selena eyes the titles on the table.

“That one...” she said, pointing towards the tag-team title. “Let me carry that one for us.”

The smile that appeared on Deanna’s face was exhausted... but grateful. “Yeah.”

The announcement appeared on Selena’s phone while Deanna was asleep three seats away.

BREAKDOWN
WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
HOUSE OF FROST vs. HOLLYWOOD

Selena stared at it. It had been rumoured the last few days, but now the formal booking had arrived.

Chris Hollywood and Ryan Hollywood.

The names alone brought up an immediate memory. Her and Xander Valentine. Two people who had spent more energy distrusting one another than learning how to function together, Hollywood closing in out of nowhere, Selena’s frustration boiling over, an opportunity she believed the Hollywood boys had never earned...

The disqualification.

The certainty that if the system was wrong, Selena Frost had the right to correct it herself.

Her thumb hovered over the screen as she reread – her mind working the implications and logics behind the information.

“Something wrong?” Selena looked up. Deanna was awake – barely – her words groggy as she rubbed her eyes. Slowly, Selena turned the phone toward her, waiting for Deanna’s eyes to adjust and read the announcement.

The redhead’s face changed.

“What?” Selena asked.
“Nothing.”
“Red.”

Deanna sat up, sighing a little, adjusting her emerald sleepwear. “You remember last time.”
Selena looked at the screen again. “Yes.” she nodded.
“You weren't exactly thrilled they got that shot.”
“No.”

Deanna waited.

Selena could almost hear the question she wasn't asking. Are you going to do this again?

With a sigh, she turned her gaze back to Deanna. “They're challengers. They're in the match.”
“That’s it?”

Selena shrugged. “What else is there?”

Deanna’s lips slowly curved... and Selena rolled her eyes.

“Don't.” she huffed.
“I didn't say anything.” Deanna said, though her smile said enough.
“You're thinking loudly.”
Deanna leaned back in the seat. “I just figured you'd have opinions.”
“Oh, I have several. But whether they earned it isn't my decision.”

Deanna’s expression changed - the smile faded into something quieter.

“We’re here.” Selena remarked as she gazed out the window. The plane they were on had descended.

Quietly, Selena’s hand rested over the championship at her side. This time, she did not feel the need to decide whether Hollywood deserved to stand across from them.

Either way... They would.

That was enough.

What happened after the match started, though? That belonged to the House of Frost.

RE: Hollywood vs. Deanna Frost & Selena Frost - SnowQueenSCW - 10-07-2026

Frost No More

”Learning to Tag”

PPG Paints Arena
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
October 7th, 2026
8:16 p.m.

There was something almost insulting about how small a tag rope was...

That was the thought that ran through Deanna’s mind as she stood in the ring, one hand wrapped around the white cord tied to the turnbuckle.

The rest of the building carried on without her. Production crew rolled equipment somewhere beyond the curtain, someone tested the sound system, she heard a case slam shut, and voices echoed throughout the area concrete hallways.

It didn’t really phase her. Instead, she just stared at the rope in her hand. Six inches... Maybe eight... she thought. Simple...

For all the symbolism professional wrestling managed to cram into everything - championship belts, entrance music, ring robes, pyro, elaborate logos - tag-team wrestling ultimately asked for something remarkably simple.

Stand here.
Hold this.
Wait.
Trust the person inside the ring.
Then, when they needed you... Reach.

The redhead let go of the rope, letting it swing. Seems easy enough...

Her right knee disagreed. She felt the joint tighten as she stepped backward, forcing her to shift her weight onto the other leg.

“Yeah yeah...” she sighed knowingly. Her body had been complaining all day. Every part of her – shoulders, back, knee. There was one particularly ugly bruise along her ribs that had changed from red to purple sometime between Mexico City and Pittsburgh.

Nothing was serious, thank Odin. It was merely the accumulation of being exactly what Deanna had fought so hard to become: SCW World Champion. SCW Adrenaline Champion. One-half of the SCW World Tag Team Champions.

And it still felt ridiculous.

There had been a time when she would have laughed if somebody told her she would one day be carrying more championships than Selena Frost, going from ‘following Selena Frost in accolades’ to doing things Selena Frost had never done. Not because she thought herself incapable - at least, she wanted to believe she wasn’t. But for years Selena had been the impossible standard.

The world Championships, the main events, the records, Rise to Greatness over and over again. The woman Deanna had watched from ringside while quietly learning what all of this demanded. Except back then, Deanna had thought she understood the demand! She had packed the bags, booked the flights, adjusted the schedules, ran social media, remembered where Selena’s gear had been thrown, made sure meals appeared somewhere between interviews and matches.

Deanna had understood what it meant to support a champion.

She had just never understood what it meant to be one on the same calibre as Selena - until now.

Her phone vibrated on the ring apron, forcing the redhead to glance toward it.

“Of course.” She walked over, ducked beneath the top rope and picked it up, but relaxed when she saw the name on the screen.  Food is waiting in your hotel room. A second followed. Eat it before midnight. That is advice, not an order.

Deanna laughed at the pair of messages, and again just as a third one popped up. I am improving.

Deanna typed back. I definitely see potential! she teased towards the sender.
Almost immediately. I can withdraw the advice.
Nope. Too late. Growth documented.

Three dots appeared. Stopped. Appeared again. Then: You are unbearable.

Deanna smiled, biting her lower lip playfully. Maybe you love me. She sent it before she could reconsider. For several seconds there was nothing. Then...

Unfortunately.

Deanna stared at the screen a little longer than necessary, a warmth spreading through her chest. Not enough to erase everything – it couldn’t. But that was the point!

Nearly two months had passed since Eyrie. Nearly two months since Selena had knelt before her with Deanna’s wedding ring and offered her the decision. Nearly two months since Deanna had answered with two words that still carried more weight than most of the championships she had ever held.

Not yet.

And somehow... It had worked. Not magically like the fairy-tales she loved -  There were still uncomfortable silences. There were conversations that went badly...

There had been one dinner where Elsianna barely spoke to Selena for forty minutes because Selena had corrected her about something at school, followed by another twenty minutes where Selena visibly struggled not to interpret that silence as proof she should never have returned.

There had been nights Selena went back to her own place at the Eyrie Tower or had disappeared into her office. Nights Deanna wished she had asked her to stay or had gone after her. Nights Deanna was grateful she hadn’t.

There had been hugs.
Hands brushing.
Selena falling asleep in a chair while Deanna watched television.
Deanna waking once on a hotel sofa with her head against Selena’s shoulder and realizing Selena had not moved for however long she had been asleep.

Remarkably, they hadn’t kissed. Not yet... came the thought. And that mattered too for Deanna!

She had said she needed ordinary life. Selena had not attempted to turn ordinary life into a campaign: No flowers every morning. No dramatic declarations. No constant question of whether Deanna was ready now.

Just... Dinner.
Just... Flights.
Just... Coffee.
Just... Arguments.
Just... Children.
Just... Occasional sarcasm.

The strange little routines of two people trying to discover whether they could exist beside one another again...

Deanna locked her phone and set it back on the apron, then looked toward the opposite corner. The World Tag Team Championship sat there. Her World Championship remained in the locker room with the Adrenaline Championship.

She didn't want all three right now. Because for the first time since Frank Delatosso had handed her that itinerary, Deanna wanted to think about only one responsibility...

Chris Hollywood. Ryan Hollywood. The House of Frost.

She walked across the ring and lifted the championship. Hollywood...

Deanna remembered Selena showing her the booking earlier. She also remembered the look she'd given Selena after reading it. She hadn't meant to, but Selena had caught it anyway.

You remember last time. Why had the redhead hit that nerve? Of course Selena remembered. Everybody remembered.

Chris and Ryan certainly did. They had built part of their entire argument around it. The last time they had challenged for the championships, they had been close. Close enough that Selena Frost had lost her temper.

Deanna had gone back and watched the match herself after landing in Pittsburgh. And after watching? she could admit something Selena probably couldn’t just yet.

Hollywood might have won.

It was beyond possible to the redhead. Chris and Ryan had been keeping pace, they had found openings, they had made Selena and Xander uncomfortable, they had been close enough that the question remained legitimate.

Would Hollywood have become Tag Team Champions? Maybe!
Would Xander and Selena have recovered? Maybe.

But Hollywood was treating it like a certainty, which didn’t hold much water when they had lost to the Glimmer Sisters in tag-action less than a month later.

The truth was... Nobody knew. Because Selena had ended the match before either answer could happen. That was the part Hollywood had every right to resent.

Selena had robbed them... just not necessarily of the championships. She robbed them of the answer...

It was why Deanna had been so grateful to Selena and Luz and Amelia for how the main-event of Rise to Greatness went down. There had just been so much going on! With Gavin interfering and her accidentally hitting Demtria... and yet all four women had wanted the same thing! A clean finish! If any of the above factors had gone differently, she may still have won the world title... but the lack of true ‘answer’ would have eaten away at her. The thought made her stomach queasy...

Still, there was something about the way Chris and Ryan talked about their ‘robbed’ match now that bothered Deanna.

The bragging was fine. Hell, if Deanna had pushed two Hall-of-Fame-level wrestlers to the edge before her own career had truly taken off, she would probably still mention it too! No, what bothered her was the assumption hiding underneath it. They spoke about that match as though what had happened then told them what would happen now...

As though Selena Frost was the common denominator.
As though swapping Xander Valentine for Deanna Frost simply changed one name on the team sheet.

Deanna looked across the empty ring. “That’s not how this works.” she whispered.

She had learned that the hard way too. Her losses against The Brand had quickly made her understand how stupid that idea was. A tag-team wrestler had to understand another person. Know when they were genuinely hurt vs. when they were baiting an opponent. Know whether they wanted the tag or whether reaching would break their momentum. Know when to intervene. Know when interference would only create chaos. Know which half-second of eye contact meant trust me and know which meant get me the hell out of here.

Xander Valentine and Selena Frost had been two magnificent wrestlers. They had not been a magnificent team. They had been rivals forced into proximity.

Deanna and Selena? Complicated. the redhead half-laughed, half-scoffed. Gods, complicated.

But they were not the same as Xander and Selena.

They had chosen one another.
Before marriage.
During marriage.
After divorce.
After hatred.
After betrayal.
Even when choosing each other had not meant choosing the same future.

And lately... They were learning how to choose each other without choosing for each other.

The warmth returned to Deanna’s chest as she looked toward the tag rope again.

She had spent years thinking independence meant carrying everything herself – though not to an absurd degree like Selena had. But it was there! Maybe because she had fought so hard for people to stop looking at her as Selena Frost’s accessory...

Selena’s wife.
Selena’s manager.
Selena’s shadow.

She had spent so long and worked so hard to prove she belonged here. That she had earned this. That she was not standing where she stood because Selena Frost had opened a door. That she was NOT so interchangeable as ‘just another tag-team partner for Selena’.

Then somewhere along the way... Proving she could carry herself had become proving she could carry everything.

The World Championship.
The Adrenaline Championship.
Tag Team Championships.
Frank’s itinerary.
Outside appearances.
SCW.

Everything!

And the horrifying part? People applauded you for doing that. They called you strong...

Slowly, Deanna looked down at the championship. ‘Strong’/’Strength’. Once, she thought strength was refusing to stay down – calling it ‘grit’. Then she thought it was fighting alone...

But... it was surviving Veil that had taught her something else.
It was surviving Taking Hold of the Flame that had taught her something else again.
And it was Amelia who had taught her something else.

Maybe strength wasn't carrying everything... Maybe sometimes it was knowing which weight was actually yours...

With a slow exhale, Deanna stood and walked back toward the corner, wrapping her fingers around the tag rope. She had won the tag-team titles with Selena twice now. She knew the truth: A tag did not erase the wrestler leaving the ring. It didn't make them less capable. It didn't mean they had failed. It simply meant somebody else was there...

Someone chosen.
Someone trusted.
Someone who could take the next part.

Deanna smiled at that thought, the warmth in her chest returning for the third time. She had been so distracted – Hollywood had been right to assume that – with defending the world title day after day in the first stretch of her ‘World tour’. But now... able to breathe for just a moment – seeing the texts from Selena...

She felt it.

“Okay.” The word disappeared into the empty arena. “I think I get it.”

And with that, she released the rope and nodded to the waiting cameraman.

__________________________

The camera opens up to the inside of the PPG Arena in Pittsburgh. Standing on the apron of the ring there is the SCW World, Tag-team and Adrenaline champion, Deanna Frost. The SCW World Tag Team Championship sits on the turnbuckle near her.

For several seconds, she simply looks into the camera. Until she smiles...

So... she shrugs knowingly. Where do we start?
She chuckles a little. Silly, I know, but there is so much going on that... I almost don’t know where to start!

But if I may break from my usual ‘gentle, easing-into-approach’... I’d like to just attack the heart of the matter here! Because I am just one person of four that will have something to say in regards to this match! So let’s just skip the pleasantries, let’s skip the soft-shoeing and attack this!

Chris! Ryan! Hollywood! She calls out as she enters the ring, grabbing the world tag-team title with her name on it and moving towards the center of the ring.

Challenging for the tag-team titles again! Facing the champion in a Frost... again! I know you keep saying this is ‘deja-vu’ and I get it. Because I watched it...The match.

Taking a deep breath, the redhead adjusts the title and her dark-green hoodie. The one you've been talking about for the last eight months. You two against Selena Frost and Xander Valentine , right?

She gives a small nod. And I'll give you something I'm sure you're going to enjoy hearing. Deanna tilts her head. You might have won.

She allows that to settle but for only a moment. Maybe...

You were close! Closer than a lot of people probably expected you to be! You won’t hear a rebuttal from me! That’s how good you two are as a tag-team! Good enough to keep pace with two of the greatest wrestlers SCW has ever produced, and when that match ended, it wasn't because either of you got pinned.

Her expression grows more serious.

Selena lost her temper, got herself and Xander disqualified, and took the ending away from all of you.

She gives a slight shrug. I'm not going to insult you by pretending otherwise- And if you've spent the eight months wondering what would have happened if that match had continued? I understand.

If that near-win is part of the reason you believe you can become World Tag Team Champions now? Well... it should be.

She takes a few steps around inside of the ring. But here's where you lose me.

Because you keep talking about what happened against Selena and Xander as though you're getting another crack at the same exam. That this is another chance to ‘undo’ that match and prove you would have won had Selena not cost you.

You're not and it isn’t. Deanna's eyes sharpen. Last time you fought Selena Frost for these championships... she had a partner.

A pause.

This time... she has a teammate.

The redhead allows the silence to carry the distinction.

And before anyone decides that's disrespectful toward Xander Valentine, it isn't. Xander Valentine is extraordinary. Selena is extraordinary. But two extraordinary wrestlers do not automatically become an extraordinary tag team because somebody hands them matching championships!

She moves the title on her shoulder a little. They were rivals. Enemies that were forced together and expected to figure it out because they were individually talented enough to survive almost anything.

Deanna slowly shakes her head. You exploited that. Good. That's what you were supposed to do.

But Selena and I aren't two people management shoved onto the same side of the ring. We chose this.

And that difference matters. Deanna begins pacing again. Actually, that brings me to something else you said...

You said that it doesn't matter which two champions you stand across from...

A short laugh escaped her. Chris... Ryan... it absolutely matters! It should matter!

Because if you're walking into a championship match believing the people holding these titles are interchangeable, then you've already stopped paying attention!

She points toward herself. I am not Xander Valentine! She lets that statement settle for a second.

And Selena isn't the woman you fought that night anymore either.

So if your entire confidence comes from knowing you almost beat one version of Selena Frost while she was trying to coexist with somebody she didn't trust... Deanna smiles knowingly. You're about to learn why context matters.

She lowered her hand. Because Selena and Xander aren’t a multi-tag-team-champion together. Selena/Xander didn’t beat unstoppable champions like Light in the Darkness or Farmstead Friends. But the House of Frost did!

She stops back in the center. Now, I heard the rest too. You want to try.

No more being famous just to be famous.
No more being satisfied because somebody paid you and the crowd laughed.

You want people to care about Hollywood because of what you can actually do inside this ring. Deanna nods. Again. Good. I'm not mocking that. Because I know exactly what it's like to realize that being around wrestling isn't the same as proving you belong in wrestling.

A small breath. I spent years being known because of somebody else before people learned to know me because of me!

So if the two of you finally want these championships badly enough to stop hiding behind the joke?

She spreads her arms. Welcome. About time!

Then the warmth slowly disappears. But deciding you care is the beginning. Not the accomplishment. Trying isn't impressive at this level.

Trying is the minimum.

I’ve spent days... weeks so far... seeing people wanting to try! Every person who steps into this ring with me wants something. Every person who challenged me for one of my titles wanted it!

She taps the tag-team title. Wanting it only gets you to the door. You still have to walk through us.

Deanna steps closer to the camera. But you think I’m too distracted to notice you trying to walk in, right?

World Champion.

Adrenaline Champion.
Tag Team Champion.

A lot of hardware. She gives a knowing smile. You're right. It's a lot.

She gives a small huff. Frank Delatosso has me travelling from city to city, promotion to promotion, interview to appearance, match to match.

Running her free hand through her red mane of hair, she gives an honest shrug. I'm tired.

Another sigh. There. I admit it.

No heroic lie.No pretending I wake up every morning feeling perfect because champions apparently don't get sore...

I'm tired.

She shrugs. So what? Don't confuse tired with vulnerable. Don't confuse busy with distracted. And don't mistake the number of championships I've earned for evidence that I care less about any one of them!

She takes off the World Tag Team Championship and raises it. Especially this one!

Because this is the one championship I don't have to carry by myself.

Her voice softens slightly. For a long time, I thought being strong meant proving I could do everything alone. From Veil, to coming back, to regaining my credibility... I thought I had to do it myself.

And maybe after spending years fighting to prove I was more than Selena Frost's wife, more than Selena Frost's manager, more than the person standing beside Selena Frost... I became a little too determined to prove I never needed anybody standing beside me to do all of that. And maybe that’s something Frank’s been betting on with our match...

Her emerald eyes remain on the lens. But... I was wrong.

Needing a teammate doesn't make me less of a champion.
Trusting one doesn't erase everything I earned by myself.

And when that bell rings, just like with Light in the Darkness, I don't need to prove that I can beat both of you alone. A smile slowly returns as she holds out her hand towards the camera. I just need to know when to reach out my hand.

She lowers her hand down, adjusting the title onto her shoulder once more. That's what you're actually facing, Hollywood.

You're facing the House of Frost! The woman you've spent everything trying to put down and view as ‘interchangeable’... and the woman that’s been itching to face you two again.

Her smile sharpens.

Think about that too, guys. I didn’t say the Selena who was too busy being angry about whether you deserved a title match in the first place. I didn’t say the Selena trying to coexist with Xander Valentine...

Gazing down, Deanna shows her hand – particularly the ring on her finger. My Selena.

And that is a very different problem.

She tilts her head knowingly. You said you have one goal. Become World Tag Team Champions. Good. she nods.

When the bell rings, I have one too. She taps the championship. Keep this.

Not worry about the World Championship.
Not worry about the Adrenaline Championship.
Not worry about Mumbai or Montreal or wherever Frank has decided I should go next...

Just... Keep this.

Deanna's expression hardened. So try, boys. Really try! Give us the Hollywood you keep promising everybody exists. Give us everything that almost made you champions last time and everything you've supposedly learned since!

And I will show you the difference between a thrown-together tag-team... And a House of Frost.

A small, almost sympathetic smile. And this time... Selena won't be standing beside somebody she was forced to tolerate.

She'll be standing beside somebody she trusts.
A pause. So will I.

Welcome back to the title picture, Hollywood. Her smile disappears. Now show us whether you actually belong here...

Checkmate, bitches!

The camera turns on Deanna, staring towards the empty seats before moving spotting someone sitting in an empty chair....

RE: Hollywood vs. Deanna Frost & Selena Frost - SnowQueenSCW - 10-07-2026

Scars of a Fascade

”You’re Here. That’s Enough.”

PPG Paints Arena
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
October 8th, 2026
8:40 p.m.

Selena Frost had watched herself make the same mistake seven times. By the eighth, she was beginning to find it irritating.

Not the mistake itself. That had moved well beyond irritating years ago.

No, what bothered her was how obvious it looked now. The arena was mostly empty, illuminated by the lights and few tech hands still setting up for Breakdown tomorrow. Gazing up from where she sat in one of the empty seats, she saw Deanna standing in the ring, performing her promo. Selena’s focus, however, returned to her phone...

On the screen stood four people.

Chris Hollywood.
Ryan Hollywood.
Xander Valentine.
And Selena Frost.

A very different Selena Frost.

The YouTube video had been paused less than thirty seconds before the ending.

Selena sat alone, one ankle resting over the opposite knee, the World Tag Team Championship lying beside her.

She had watched the match from the beginning...

Then again.
Then pieces of it.
Then the ending.
Again. And again. And again.

The eighth attempt sat frozen before her. Xander had just moved across the ring, Chris was recovering, Ryan was waiting, and Selena...

The Snow Queen leaned forward, watching herself.

The expression her screen-self had. She knew it immediately. For all Hollywood had said since that night, Selena hadn't panicked because Chris and Ryan were about to become World Tag Team Champions.

Maybe they had been. Maybe they hadn't. If they did – she’d at least be free of Xander and the stupid obstacle course to get simple revenge on the Glimmers. If they couldn’t – then that would serve her purposes too.

No... The truth was almost more embarrassing.

Selena had been angry because Hollywood had been there at all.

Her fingers tapped lightly against the edge of the armrest until she, eventually, pressed play on her screen, showing the disqualification, the official calling for the bell...

Again, she hit pause.

“Idiot.” was the only whispered sound she made, staring at her own reflection on the phone-screen.

For months, she had remembered the match differently - not factually. She hadn't rewritten the actual events. She remembered exactly what she had done. Instead, she had rewritten the reasoning.

Hollywood had been handed an opportunity.
Hollywood had jumped the line.

Hollywood hadn't earned the right to challenge champions of Xander Valentine and Selena Frost's calibre after she had spent so long – won handicap matches, been undefeated, more than anyone else – just to get a chance at the Glimmers!

Management had created the situation.

All those reasons, she had used to be make herself feel justified in being furious. And because she had been justified in being furious... Somewhere along the way, her mind had quietly suggested that her actions had therefore been justified too and that – this rare time – it was okay to disqualify herself. To put integrity on pause this one time...

Selena exhaled. “Convenient.” she growled at herself.

It had been one of her greatest talents - turning control into principle and arrogance into responsibility and fear into protection. If she chose the proper language, almost anything could sound noble.

She had done it with championships...
With SCW...
With Deanna...

Using her finger, Selena rewound the footage several minutes and pressed play. This time, she barely watched Hollywood...

She watched Xander.

A remarkable wrestler. Easily her arch-nemesis for so many years. One of the few people Selena would acknowledge without qualification as belonging in the same conversations that had once included her name.

He was the Executioner. The most dominant wrestler in SCW history. And utterly wrong for her.

Not because Xander lacked talent, she scoffed at the idea. It was because talent had never been their problem - trust had. The footage made that brutally clear.

Xander moved one direction – constantly having to watch Selena and even step in sometimes to save her. And all the while, Selena still refused to work with him like she knew a tag-team partner should. A tag came because circumstances demanded one rather than because the two had created the opening together.

She acted, Xander reacted and she then reacted to his reaction. Every sequence looked just slightly harder than it needed to be.

She watched Ryan force an opening and how Chris followed.

“Two great wrestlers...” she whispered, not sure who she was talking about, a fact that made her pause the footage again.

That was the distinction Hollywood appeared determined not to make. Their argument was understandable. They had nearly beaten Selena Frost. And now they were facing Selena Frost again.

Simple.
Comforting.

“Wrong.” Selena looked toward the World Tag Team Championship as she said that word.

House of Frost....

Even they weren’t the same from the last time they had held tag-team gold years ago. Once, House of Frost had meant marriage and family. Two women bound together so tightly that the wrestling almost became an extension of everything outside of it. Then, it had become a reminder of everything they had lost.

Now?

Well, Selena wasn't entirely sure now. Perhaps that was healthier. Two months ago, uncertainty would have infuriated her. Now she could allow some things to exist without immediately naming them.

House of Frost didn't need to mean Deanna was her wife again. Not yet...

It didn't need to mean their family had magically repaired itself.
It didn't mean Selena had been forgiven enough to erase everything she had done.

Forgiveness wasn't erasure. Deanna had made that painfully clear, and Selena was grateful for it.

Strange... She could remember a time when hearing that Deanna still didn't fully trust her would have sent her spiralling toward one of two extremes: fix everything immediately or disappear so Deanna wouldn't have to deal with her. Control or absence... Selena had rarely understood the vast territory between the two.

Now she was learning to live there – albeit slowly.

She looked back toward the paused video. Maybe that was why this match bothered her less than it should have. Chris and Ryan Hollywood had received another World Tag Team Championship opportunity again.

And, again, Selena did not believe they had earned it. That had not changed. She had seen the standings. Seen other teams winning like The Vision and The Glimmers. Seen teams fighting for positioning. Knew the rematches in play - The Glimmers and Light in the Darkness. She knew of others scratching and clawing for relevance.

Then Hollywood appeared. Not even being there for RTG. Just shown up... Again.

It felt familiar. Suspicious, even. Given Frank Delatosso's fascination with keeping Deanna in motion, Selena could certainly imagine reasons why another championship defence had suddenly materialized in Deanna’s first SCW match back (as well as Selena’s) since RTG.

But imagination was not evidence. And more importantly... it changed nothing.

Hollywood were challengers - the match existed. That was the end of Selena's authority on the subject. Her opinion could remain exactly what it was without becoming law.

That realization should not have felt revolutionary... but it did.

Selena quietly restarted the footage after casting a glance at Deanna. The end came again, along with the bell, the confusion, the anger, Hollywood protesting, Xander furious...

Selena watched herself. “You took the answer away.” she whispered to her past-self. The room offered no response.

That’s what ate away at her. She had robbed them of certainty.
She had robbed Xander of the opportunity to finish what they had started.
She had robbed herself too. That was perhaps the strangest part.

Old Selena would have focused exclusively on what Hollywood claimed she had taken from them. Current Selena could see what she had taken from everyone... including herself.

She stopped the footage again. Then, after a moment, shut the phone-screen off completely, her reflection becoming clearer in the black: Platinum-blonde hair pulled back, sapphire eyes...

She looked older and more tired. There was no crown. No World Championship. No Blue-Eyed Devil staring back at her... Just her.

I love you.
I forgive you.
Not yet.

Selena looked toward the Tag Team Championship again. Deanna had asked for Tuesdays. For ordinary things. For grocery lists. For dinners. For arguments that didn't end with disappearance. It all had sounded almost insultingly small compared to the scale on which their lives had usually operated.

Selena had once wanted grand gestures. Impossible promises and proof – both provided by her and given to her. Now she understood the difficulty of something much simpler.

Staying
Listening
Asking
Accepting the answer.

Maybe tag-team wrestling wasn't terribly different from it. There had been a time when Selena hated tagging out - even when strategically sensible, even when exhausted. Part of her always felt the same ugly irritation about it, even when teaming with Deanna or Regan Street or Dawn Lohan or Xander (especially him!).

I should be able to finish this.

As if trusting a partner meant conceding weakness. As if leaving the ring for thirty seconds somehow diminished everything she'd done inside it.

It was so strange when she considered the redhead. Deanna had spent years learning how to stand outside Selena's shadow and Selena was now learning how to stand beside Deanna without casting one. Perhaps that was why this championship mattered more to the platinum-blonde now than she had originally expected.

Not because it was another trophy, but because it required exactly what Selena had been worst at... Vulnerability. Sharing. Trusting. Reaching. Waiting. Letting another person decide when they needed her instead of barging into the ring because Selena had decided they must.

Slowly, Selena picked up the championship and stared at it, thinking too much about everything she had just come to terms with. It was all embarrassingly sentimental...

She frowned. “Deanna is rubbing off on me.” she whispered in quiet admittance. Still... true was true.

Taking a deep breath, Selena stretched her back.

“Alright.” she whispered as she saw Deanna Frost gazing at her, her own tag-team title over her shoulder, the cameraman that had been standing in the ring with her slowly turning his camera towards Selena. “So be it.”

She said nothing else as she waited for the cameraman to fully focus on her – her next words coming out naturally...

The Royal Letter

Coming over the shoulder of the world champion, the camera focuses on the sea of empty seats, then the one where someone is sitting alone. Focusing and zooming in, it catches the calm expression of Selena Frost, watching Deanna’s promo conclude. The SCW World Tag Team Championship rests over her shoulder.

With Deanna finished the attention on her, Selena stares directly at the camera. Her words clear in the empty arena. You were robbed.

She allows the words to hang for a second. There. I thought I would save both of you the trouble of repeating yourselves for the umpteenth time.

Pushing herself to her feet, the Snow Queen carries the tag-team title on her shoulder as she walks across and down the aisle of seats and steps. Because you've been saying it for a while now, Chris. Ryan.

The last time Hollywood challenged for the World Tag Team Championships, Selena Frost lost her temper, got herself and Xander Valentine disqualified and robbed Hollywood of becoming champions.

She nods. And like our esteemed World champion just said... most of that is true. She stops to glare at the camera. Most. Before she resumes marching.

I did lose my temper.
I did get my team disqualified.
And I did rob you.

Her eyes hardened. Just not of the thing you've convinced yourselves I did.

I robbed you of the chance to prove you could beat us.
I robbed Xander Valentine of the chance to finish the match.
And I robbed myself of the chance to prove that, despite everything happening in that ring, you still couldn't get the job done.

She continues her steady pace.

What I did not do was magically make Chris and Ryan Hollywood World Tag Team Champions. She gives a humourless smile. That's the clever part of an unfinished story, isn't it?

You can make the ending whatever you want, can’t you?

And apparently somewhere between that night and this one, “we almost won” became “we definitely would have won if Selena hadn't panicked.”

She tilts her head. Maybe. Maybe you would have. There. Another sentence the woman you faced back then probably would have choked on before saying aloud. Her expression remains steady. Maybe you would have beaten us. I don't know...

But neither do you.

A short laugh escapes her. You have no idea if you possessed the ability to do what so few others have done in pinning Xander F’N Valentine or if you had what it took to keep me down for 3 seconds! Or did you miss who has the best track record here in SCW year after year? But please – keep trying to make certainties out of unknowns.

Her laugh becomes a little bitter. I used to be very good at that. Her smile disappears.

At deciding who deserved opportunities.
Who deserved championships.
What SCW needed.
What my family needed.

Simply because I couldn’t stand the notion of not knowing. Of not being in control. Of drowning in uncertainties...

She gives a smaller pause. Turns out, even when believing you're right, doesn't make every choice you make because of it right too. She returns her gaze to the camera. So let's deal with something immediately...

Do I think Hollywood earned this championship match? She turns her head towards the camera. No. The answer was effortless. No, I don't.

I can look at the division. I can look at who has been winning. I can look at who has been fighting for position. And you two wouldn’t be there. If Selena Frost were personally responsible for choosing the next challengers, Chris and Ryan Hollywood probably wouldn't have been first on my list.

I admire your passion and desire to be legit and taken seriously and your talent, but lack of presence and wins beyond your ‘one DQ win against the tag-champs’ does little for you, and even you two know that.

She raises an eyebrow. Fortunately for everyone involved... I'm not responsible for choosing.

Selena eyes Deanna as she passes her, the Snow Queen making her way into the ring as Deanna stands patiently by the turnbuckle.

The match was made.
You accepted.
Deanna and I accepted.

She shrugs. These are facts. You're going to stand across the ring from us.

Standing in the centre of the ring, Selena gives a faint smile. And that's enough.

Silence followed for a moment.

Not enough to make you worthy.
Not enough to make you champions.
Enough for me to stop wasting everyone's time complaining about whether the match should exist.

Her expression sharpens. Because once the bell rings, my job isn't to determine whether Chris Hollywood and Ryan Hollywood belong in the championship match...

My job is to beat them.

She lets the words hang for a moment with a long breath. I should've understood that the first time. She lightly taps the title over her shoulder. I do now.

Which brings me to the part of your story I actually like. A little sarcasm slipped into the words. You finally want to try... Really try.

Not show up, make everyone laugh, collect the cheque and move along to whatever scandal puts your faces back in the tabloids....

You want people to look at Hollywood and see wrestlers... You want respect.

Selena nodded slowly. Good. I mean that. There are worse realizations a person can have than discovering they've wasted enough of their own potential. Her eyes narrow slightly. Trust me.

Still...
she tilts her head. But I do have to admire your timing.

A cold smile, perhaps knowing, grows across her features. You finally decide you want to earn everything... immediately before somebody gives you another World Tag Team Championship match.

She gives a small shrug. Life has a sense of humour.

But perhaps that's useful. Because now you get exactly what you claim you've wanted. A chance to prove it. Selena moves toward the centre of the ring.

Because this time, boys, I'm not going to take that chance away from you. Her voice lowers. Because I won’t have to.

A colder smile formed. You want an answer? So do I. Then she raises one finger. So before you get too excited about history repeating itself, there's one rather important problem with your evidence.

The last time you challenged Selena Frost for these championships... you didn't face the House of Frost. Selena let the distinction breathe.

I know Deanna said all this but that’s not what I’m getting at. House of Frost vs. Selena/Xander – not the same, that’s true. But let me just remind you of something. While you both were fixated on me and gave Deanna a ‘sup girl’ as an afterthought...

Her gaze darkens. Which of you won the main-event of Rise to Greatness? Which of you headlined Rise to Greatness rather than sit at home? Which of you is the nemesis of Frank Delatosso rather than the convenient pieces on the board?

See... I can’t believe that about either of you. Supposedly ‘changed men’ and you’re doing the one rule you never do in tag-wrestling. “Underestimate one opponent over the other.” But please, focus on me so that Deanna can get a breather from touring the world title until she’s ready to blast one of your heads off with the Burnout! See if that strategy can work.

Rolling her eyes and calming herself with a breath, Selena slowly walks toward one corner, her fingers closing around the tag rope.

You know something else I didn't understand back then? She looks down at the rope, giving it a tug. This.

For most of my career, I hated needing it. I hated reaching for somebody else because some stupid part of me always thought it meant I hadn't been good enough to finish the job myself.

She pulls the rope again. And if you've ever wondered why putting me into partnerships occasionally became a spectacular disaster... there's your answer.

A trace of amusement crossed her face. I thought control was strength.
I thought if I could carry everything myself, nobody could disappoint me.
Nobody could hurt me.
Nobody could make a choice I didn't approve of.

She releases the rope. Turns out that's not partnership. It's just loneliness with better branding.

Selena walks back toward the middle. And a tag... it isn't a surrender. It's trust...

It's knowing the person outside the ropes isn't waiting for you to fail.
It's knowing you don't lose part of yourself because somebody else carries the fight for a few minutes.
It's knowing when your partner reaches out, you reach back.

Her expression softened almost imperceptibly as she turns her gaze – to Deanna waiting at the turnbuckle patiently.

Deanna and I know how to do that. Then the edge returned. And we're getting better at it every day: Inside the ring. Outside it. And that should worry you far more than whatever you think you learned from Selena Frost and Xander Valentine.

Selena moves closer to the camera. Because you're right about one thing. When Hollywood actually tries, you're dangerous.

I know - I was there.

And I was arrogant enough to care more about how you got there than what you were doing once you arrived.

She nods. I won't underestimate you like that again – The House of Frost won’t underestimate you.

A thin smile crosses her features. That's not the compliment you think it is.

Because the last time, you got the Selena Frost who was distracted by the insult of your opportunity...

This time...
She taps the championship. You have my attention. All of it.

No crusade against management.
No argument about rankings.
No outrage about who deserves what.
Just Chris.
Ryan.
Deanna.
Her grin is full. Me.

And these. She lifts the World Tag Team Championship. These will give us the answer. Whether Hollywood are uncrowned champions... or just twisters of a narrative.

Lowering her title, Selena shrugs her shoulders. So give us that ‘best’ you’re promising, boys. Because when it's over, I don't want to hear that you weren't serious yet. I don't want to hear that you were still figuring yourselves out. I don't want to hear about what might have happened if somebody hadn't interfered with your great ‘Hollywood moment’.

The smile returns - colder now. I won’t want to hear what you ‘think’. I’ll want to hear what you know.

Last time, you walked away with an unfinished story... and I've had quite enough of those.

Her expression changed for the briefest moment. Something older... more personal. Then gone.

This time, you will both KNOW that Hollywood was not prepared to beat The House of Frost. That The House of Frost are the world tag-team champions for a reason! No ifs about it!

That is the only answer I... she eyes Deanna once more. WE... will decide. The redhead smiles at Selena, as she turns her gaze back to the camera, the world champion moving to stand beside her.

Welcome back, Hollywood. She gives a final pause. Tonight... you’ll leave with an answer... Whether you want to believe it or not... she shrugs knowingly. That will be up to you.

The camera focuses on the tag-team champions as they lift their titles up before fading to black.
