Giovanna Steward | "Not Gonna Be a Pink Mess"

In the middle of the afternoon, at an arena where SCW is going to hold one of their shows later in the night. Giovanna Steward had gotten to the arena early. She sits at a table in a meeting area where most of the wrestlers gather before the show. She is alone in the room, but has her phone in hand chatting away with her boyfriend, Liam.

Gigi’s fingers hit the keypad in rapid excession sending a text back over to him. She tells him how her trip has been and where she is at the moment. While he replies back with stories of his clients from his software job. Also adding some new video games she might be interested in.

Gigi doesn’t notice her solitude being broken when Sasha D. walks into the room. Sasha doesn’t disturb her and goes over to put her things down on a table in the front of the room. Then the silence is broken with a laugh from Gigi reading on her phone. She looks up and notices Sasha in the room.

“Oh, hey Sasha. I didn’t see you come in.” Gigi says to her, putting her phone down on the table.

“Yeah, I noticed.” Sasha replies. She walks over and leans against the table. “Is that Liam? I take it things are going good then?”

Wait, Sasha knows about Liam? Before Maddy or Ash or even Katie. Is that weird?

“Yeah. I’d said things are pretty good.” Gigi nods. “Well good enough. It’s nothing serious. It’s really nice.”

“Have you told Katie yet?” Sasha asks.

“No. There really isn’t any reason either. Like I said, it's nothing serious. Besides I can’t help, but think the way of ruining something nice would be getting Katie involved in it. I’m still surprised Maddy and Ash haven’t followed me yet.” Gigi shakes her head. She is thinking about the thin ice that her relationship skates on.

“That sounds like a lot to juggle. I’m sure you can handle it.” Sasha says with a sympathetic tone. “Or you pretty much expected it to blow up in your face.”

Gigi laughs. “Oh, it’s just going to explode, but for the time being everything is nice right now.” Gigi smiles feeling happy about how things are going so far and nothing has shattered yet. “So now we have an update on my personal life. Are there any plans for my professional one?”

“Oh, well…” Sasha thinks to herself about Gigi's recent showings. “You’re still showing a lot of promise. Thanks to Katie you’re definitely not disappearing from the tag team title chase.”

“Right. She is pretty focused on it. I really want to get it for her.”

“She’ll get you the shot. You just gotta be ready. You’ll get it. I know you can.” Sasha sends words of encouragement to Gigi. She checks her watch to see the time. “I’m going to go and see if anything is happening. Are you good here?”

“Yeah, I’m good. I need to get myself focused and ready for tonight.” Gigi waves Sasha to go ahead and leave. Gigi grabs her phone and her bag. She follows Sasha out of the meeting room and finds  a place to clear her mind and think.

“I am booked against someone who loves pink just as much as Katie does. Oh my Goddess, I’m facing Katie. This is not good. I can’t be a pink mess. That’ll be literally the worst thing that would ever have happened to me in my SCW career. This is some serious stuff I’m getting into now. We’re about a week away from Taking Hold of the Flame which is going to set the path for Rise to Greatness. I need to step up and help Katie make this the greatest night in SCW history. So yeah, I’m definitely not going to be involved in any pink mess on Breakdown. Maybe afterward, Katie and Dawn can share their own fashion tips or decorative style with each other. That’ll be fine. At least until Katie likes her enough to be her tag team partner and they win the tag team titles together. Oh Goddess, what have I done?”

“I’m sorry. I’m being ridiculous. I know Katie wouldn’t dump me like that. No matter how much she’d like someone with an appreciation for pink as she has. Breakdown has nothing to do with Katie. This is me and I’m facing Dawn Warren. I need this win and it’ll get Team Desire back into the talk for Tag Team race for Rise to Greatness. So I’m coming to Breakdown and I’m giving Dawn my best. That’s where we’re at. It’s Rise to Greatness season. The Stewards are here to prove it.
