It had been several weeks since the SCW fans got to see their beloved leader of the Kimmyverse, the Queen of the Death Match and reigning SCW Underground Champion herself Kimberly Williams on an edition of Breakdown. One could chalk most of that up to the punishment and brutality that she had to endure in the Long Road out of Hell Match at Taking The Leap. Yes, Kimberly Williams retained her SCW Underground Championship against David Striker that night but it wasn’t without consequence. It was one of the most violent matches Kim had personally been involved in; she was proud of her victory and of her accomplishment but that victory came with a cost to her body and, most likely, a shortened wrestling career. Then again, that is the road she chose to walk when she decided to claim the throne of Queen of the Death Match and she would not have it any other way. But more thoughts are lingering in the mind of The Woman Scorned as SCW now enters its most exciting time of year; Rise To Greatness season which kicks off with the Taking Hold of the Flame battle royal. Williams cannot help but think about her own future and her own legacy, a legacy she had already cemented by resurrecting the Underground division and becoming a record tying five time champion in the process. Still, what more could she add to her legacy? What other achievements could she add to her legacy? She is only two titles shy of a Supreme Championship. She has won a Trios Tournament, winning the Flame would be another big accomplishment. Kim has never before thought of these kinds of goals before The Long Road out of Hell. The brutality of that match was just one thing that forced The Queen of the Death Match to take a step back and reevaluate her future. Another incident that has made Kimberly reevaluate her future and, more specifically her priorities, was the blindside attack from The Enigma. Kimberly and her Taking the Leap opponent David Striker were celebrating the history they made with their brutal Underground clash when The Enigma made his presence felt. He struck out, attacking both Striker and Williams. He left both laying in the center of the ring and Kimberly hadn’t been on Breakdown until this past Thursday in Sydney, Australia. Kimberly may be thinking about her future but for the present she knows what she wants and that is to get some revenge against The Enigma.
Kimberly certainly got her fair share of strikes in against The Enigma when she showed up out of nowhere during his Underground Match. Her proudest moment was when she stapled him in the ass. Unfortunately The Enigma, as usual, got away. Now she knows he is still out there and, most likely, will strike again. But The Woman Scorned cannot focus on that right now. Her more immediate threat is that posed by Scott Reed, the artist formerly known as Beard. Reed has had his fair share of success since returning to the ring and Kimberly cannot afford a loss right now, she cannot afford to look past him, not right now when she has The Enigma’s heavy threat looming and with Rise To Greatness season about to kick off. Kimberly needs to maintain as much momentum as she can if she wants to even consider advancing her legacy beyond the Death Match Queen legacy she has already crafted for herself.
Currently more personal business occupies the mind of The SCW Underground Champion. The eccentric ginger is skipping happily up the walkway that leads up to a large Victorian style home in Boston, Massachusetts. This kind of home, and this neighborhood, is definitely Kim’s style. This is where her half-sister, Jessica Lasiewicz, lives. Much like Marie, their sister Jessica prefers a more upscale lifestyle whereas Kim prefers to live in what most would consider to be a dump. For Kim its about keeping herself humble. But she has to show up this afternoon to see her sister, because Jessica has been watching their nephew, Marie’s son Sean Connor Jones. Kimberly is wearing torn denim jeans, a black Queens of Chaos logo t-shirt, and simple black flip flops. Her long red hair is left to hang straight and unrestrained to past the shoulders. Williams approaches the front door. Despite this having the outward appearance of a Victorian home, this does have one modern piece of equipment; a security system complete with a doorbell, camera, and a monitor. She pushes the button, signaling to whoever is inside that they have company. It isn’t long before Kim hears the answer.
“Who is it?” It is Jessica’s voice. Kim looks over at the small monitor by the door. She sees her sister’s face. Kim knows that Jessica can see her as well so she sticks her face up to the camera and grins from ear to ear.
“Moja Bolonia ma imię i jest O S C A R. Moja Bolonia ma nazwisko i jest to M E Y E R!” Kim knows that singing in Jessica’s second language of Polish will certainly get her attention. Sure enough Kim can see Jessica roll her eyes and then she disappears from view on the monitor. Kim turns back to the door in time to see it swinging wildly open. Standing there is her sister, Jessica Lasiewicz.
“Sister…”
“Allons enfant de la patrie Le jour de gloire est arrivé!”
“Do you want to hash this out in Polish, French or English, because you know damn well I am fluent in all three but you only know a few phrases of the others.”
“English will be fine!” Kim says with a look of mischief on her face.
“Then cut the crap.”
“You certainly are quite the party pooper today.” Kim says. She folds her arms over her chest and sticks her tongue out at Lasiewicz. “It’s a good thing I stopped by to pick up my nephew because I wouldn’t want him to be exposed to such negativity any more than he already is.” Kim winks knowingly. “Speaking of which, where is the kiddo?”
“He’s waiting on you.” Jessica turns her head to just inside the doorway. “Sean! Your Aunt Kim is here to pick you up!”
Kimberly grins from ear to ear as she hears the sound of running from inside the home. It isn’t that long before she sees the familiar face of her nephew emerging from the door. He runs outside and greets Kim with a big hug.
“Aunt Kim!”
“Hi there, kiddo!” Kim ruffles his brown hair. “Your Aunt Grumpy Pants didn’t annoy you, did she?” Jessica rolls her eyes at being referred to as ‘Aunt Grumpy Pants’. Sean just chuckles and shakes his head.
“Nah! Me and Aunt Jess got along great, didn’t we Aunt Jess.”
“Yes, we had fun.”
“Fun?” Kim grins knowingly. “I didn’t think you were capable of having fun?”
“You’d be surprised.” Lasiewicz answers stoically.
“Is mom back?” Sean asks Kim as he looks up at her. Kim nods her head.
“Yeah, her and your grandmother just landed. They’ll be back soon but I’ll take you back home and we can wait on them there. Sound good, kiddo?”
“Yeah.”
“Great.” Kim gives him a gentle shove. “Now run off to the car and wait on me, do not pass go, do not collect two hundred dollars, do not stop to talk to creepy clowns hiding in sewers holding red balloons, none of that crap, ok?”
“Sure!” Sean sprints off. Kim turns back to face Jessica.
“Thanks for watching him.”
“No problem.” Jessica answers. “So where was Marie anyway?” She asks curiously. “She hasn’t, y’know…” her voice trails off. Kim realizes where this is going and quickly shakes her head.
“Nah! She hasn’t fallen off the wagon and back into any cultish shit! She and mom were still in Sydney, Australia.”
“Australia?”
“Yeah, Breakdown was there. I took the first flight out. They stare a little longer. Don’t worry, Marie is keeping true to her word. She is being a responsible adult now.”
“That’s good and all, but…” Jessica pauses and points a finger at Kim “...what about you?”
“Me? Responsible?” Kim feigns shock. “Never!”
“I’m being serious.” Jessica’s voice starts to take on a very stone cold tone. “I do not mind watching Sean for you but I do not like being lied to by a hypocrite.”
“I am not a doctor, Jess. I do not take the hypocrattic oath.”
“HYPOCRITE!” Jessica snaps back angrily. “Quit playing and joking around. I think you know exactly what I mean.” She waits for Kim to own up but The Woman Scorned just shrugs her shoulders and smiles innocently. “So you want to play that game?”
“I love games!”
“Kim, my dear sister, you are a good liar but I am a far superior liar and I am better at deceit than you. I am also superior at spotting a liar than you.” Jessica frowns, staring daggers through Kim. “You can fool mom, you can fool Marie, but you can’t fool me. I know that you have been spending a lot of extra time…elsewhere…” her voice trails off, she lets the words sink in “...I just don’t know where, but I do know you have been secretly running off somewhere, visiting someone or something? I don’t know what you’re doing but it has some of the same creepy vibes that Marie’s involvement with Julianne and the Inner Peace cult gave off and I don’t like it.”
“I appreciate the concern, Jess, but I can swear to you that I have not joined any cults.” Kim smirks. “Cults just aren’t my thing, especially the creepy ass sex cult Marie joined.” Kim shudders.
“I’m being serious.” Jessica snaps back. “You sound an awful lot like Marie. Need I remind you that she also denied doing anything wrong but we now know just how deep in trouble she was?” There is a long, tense pause as Kim and Jessica stare each other down. Kim sighs and nods her head.
“Ok, you have a good point.”
“So do you want to tell me what you have been doing lately? Where have you been going?”
“This is why I hate talking to you.” Kim says, almost sounding like a pouting child. “You are such a good interrogator that you get information from me without even trying!” She sighs. “Anyway, you’re right, I have been sneaking off for quite some time now. But c’mon, Jess, I am an adult, maybe not exactly a responsible adult but I am an adult, can I not be allowed to do whatever the hell I want to do without the interrogation from my family?”
“Ordinarily, yes, but after what we went through with Marie I think it is fair to make sure you are involved in something bad.”
“Again you raise a good point but this is nothing bad, believe me. I’m just going to Baltimore every so often to visit a friend of mine.” Kim sighs. “His name is Larry and I met him at the loony bin. We were both locked up in the same psychiatric ward.” Kim’s jovial, sometimes clownish persona drops and her more serious persona emerges, a persona she tries to keep bottled up inside. “He helped me through a lot of difficult times, Jess. And I helped him. We were each other’s crutch, we helped the other get through the turmoil and trauma of being locked up in a mental institution. When we were released, we agreed that we would continue to meet up so that we would keep each other honest, we would make sure we were staying on the right path. Larry lives in Baltimore so that’s why I go to Baltimore, to see him.”
“Is that all?” Jessica asks curiously. Kim nods her head. “Well why the hell were you so reluctant to admit it? There’s nothing wrong with seeing a friend, Kim, especially someone who you’ve formed such a bond with, someone like Larry.”
“That’s the thing though, there’s more to it than that.” Kim shakes her head. “You see, Larry is kinda sorta doing me a big favor, I mean a super huge favor.”
“What kind of favor?” Jessica asks with an arched brow.
“Larry is looking out for someone…someone important to me…” she pauses as she looks into the eyes of her sister “...he’s looking after, taking care of my…my daughter.”
“Your what?!”
“See! I knew you’d overreact! I knew telling you was a bad idea!”
“Stop!” Jessica says commandingly. “First, how the hell do you have a daughter?”
“Oh, well, see, when a man loves a woman, the man takes his thingy and sticks it in the woman’s…”
“SHUT UP!” Jessica shouts. “I do NOT need to hear about the birds and the bees! I mean, HOW do you have a daughter and none of us know about it?”
“As with everything else in my fucked up ruined childhood, you can blame it on Emma.” Kim says, referencing the sociopathic monster who raised her. “She wanted a family and I was to be the one who would give it to her. She arranged for me to undergo artificial insemination. I gave birth right before I was locked up.”
“How did you and Larry get her back?”
“Larry tracked her down for me. He got her away from Emma.” Kim sighs. “I did not want another child to have to go through the same kind of horrific childhood I went through, being raised to be a monster. I knew that’s what Emma had planned for her. Since I was locked up, since I had failed, Emma was going to replace me with my own daughter. I didn’t want that to happen to her.”
“What’s her name?” Jessica asks.
“Lilith.”
“This is a lot to take in.” Jessica says slowly. “You do know that you have to tell the family, don’t you? This isn’t something you can just keep from mom, from Marie, from all of us.”
“I know, I know!” Kim exclaims. “And I will tell everyone, when I find the right time.”
“When will the time be right?”
“I don’t know.” Kim shrugs her shoulders. “But it isn’t right now, that’s for damn sure.” Kim pats Jessica on the back. “So do me a solid, sis, and don’t go being a snitch to mom. Ok? Remember what they say? Snitches get stitches.”
“Yeah, I know.” She shakes her head. “I don’t like keeping this big of a secret but reluctantly I will. You just need to promise me that you will tell everyone soon.”
“I promise.” Kim nods her head. “But like I said, I need to wait until the time is right.”
