In one week Glory Braddock will be traveling to Detroit to challenge the unusual Magical Cosmic Princess YUYO for the SCW Adrenaline Championship. This title match has taken on some important meanings for The British Bombshell. First of all, she wants to prove to the world, and to herself, that she indeed still one of the best wrestlers in the world today. Dethroning someone like YUYO, a fierce competitor who has already buzz sawed through some of the best wrestlers in SCW, would go a long way to reminding people of just how good The British Bombshell really is. But Glory Braddock also wants championship gold once more and this particular title, the Adrenaline Title, holds a special place in her heart. It was the first championship she won in SCW. She won it at Rise To Greatness and held it a couple of months before losing it to Shilo Valiant. Braddock hated how she lost the title, she hated how she never did win it back, she never did make it right. She can win the championship back and have another run with it if she can manage to find a way to do the one thing few have managed to do; defeat YUYO. Glory Braddock seems to have the wind at her back, she has the momentum on her side as she prepares for her championship match at Under Attack.
Her personal life seems to be going rather well…for the most part. Just a few days ago her oldest daughter, Melinda Braddock, came in for a visit at their temporary home in Charlotte, North Carolina. This reunited the family for the first time in a long time. This was important for Glory because she was worried that she was losing her connection to her daughter. Little did she know that her oldest wasn’t the problem. The real problem came from her youngest daughter, Dawn Logan. Little Dawn, not even quite a teenager just yet, had recently got in a fight at school and dropped the bombshell about the fight at the big family dinner. In this case Dawn was not the instigator. She was merely sticking up for her friend, she was helping to fight back against a bully. While Glory does not condone an immediate knee-jerk reaction and resorting to violence, she is proud that her daughter seems to have inherited her moral compass, her sense of right and wrong, and a desire to fight against perceived injustices. But this fight led to an uncomfortable question that both Glory Braddock and her husband, Dawn’s father, Kurt Logan had hoped to avoid; will Dawn, much like Melinda, follow on in the family’s footsteps into the wrestling business?
Braddock recalls when this issue came up with Melinda. Mother and daughter had a fierce fight and for the longest time Glory forbade her from training. Melinda made things worse by sneaking out and training in secret. Eventually they made peace when Glory was forced to recognize that she could not control her daughter’s path forever and she allowed Melinda to train. Glory’s perspective still has not changed. She would rather not see Dawn follow in her footsteps and become a wrestler. But her experience with Melinda has taught her not to fight this, otherwise she will end up, potentially, pushing Dawn away. Much to her chagrin, she will let Dawn train and, with the help of Kurt and Melinda, maybe the young girl will get off to a good start. This is what brings the family of four out to a private gym owned by Glory’s company and currently used by Kurt Logan for this specific purpose; to prepare the next generation and, perhaps, Dawn might be among that next generation.
The gym had more of a modern feel with its equipment and set up as opposed to the Braddock family’s storied wrestling gym back in Glory’s home of London. On the far side of the room stood a regulation-sized wrestling ring, ropes taut and polished, its canvas bearing faint scuff marks from countless training sessions. Glory Braddock and Kurt Logan had invested in top-tier equipment, and it showed; from the spotless blue and silver ring ropes to the mat. Around the ring, soft lighting illuminated the room, creating an inviting yet intense ambiance. A set of high-grade mats covered one corner of the room, dedicated to strength and flexibility exercises, while a full row of free weights and kettlebells lined another wall. Mirrors, strategically placed for form correction. The subtle smell of leather and sweat mingled with the faint scent of polished metal, reinforcing the sense that this space was as much a sanctuary as it was a gym. Glory and her husband sat on a bench just outside the ring, each observing their daughters with a mixture of pride and nostalgia. Melinda had inherited her mother’s fierce tenacity and was guiding her younger sister, Dawn, through the basics with patient, almost sisterly authority. Dawn was soaking in every move and every hold, her eyes bright with determination. The two sisters laughed occasionally, though it never detracted from the focus of their training. Glory squeezed her husband’s hand, both of them silently acknowledging the importance of this moment. This gym wasn’t just a place for training; it was a link between their past, present, and the future they were building.
“Melinda is doing great, y’know?” Glory says in a hushed whisper, hoping the girls don’t hear.
“I thought this was for Dawn?”
“Well it is but…” she sighs “...I’m just very impressed with Melinda. She’s still very new at this herself, despite now having a couple of years experience under her belt. Yet she seems like such a natural when it comes to working with Dawn.”
“Melinda had a ton of extra training under her wing before you even allowed her to train at her grandfather’s school in London.” This reminder of Melinda’s blatant disobedience brings an eye roll to Glory.
“Yeah, she ran off in secret to work with my best mate Matty. And that dimwit Matty had the nerve not to tell me!”
“To be fair, even YOU admit that you were wrong back then to hold her back.”
“Quit making good points.” Glory snaps back jokingly. “But yeah, you’re right, Melinda had the advantage of working with so many good wrestling minds and being exposed to so many styles before being thrown into actual competitive wrestling. It’s no wonder that she is already well adept at the game and knowledgeable enough now to pass everything she has learned onto her sister.”
“Yeah…” Kurt sighs as he looks back at the girls working out in the ring. Melinda is showing her how to throw kicks. Dawn tries a few. Most of them are successful but eventually she stumbles and falls. Melinda quickly is there to offer a hand out to help her back to her feet. “...I still don’t know if this is a good idea.”
“I’m not exactly keen on our daughter following in our footsteps, either. You already pointed out how I opposed Melinda’s decision to be a wrestler and you see how well THAT worked out. But my point is that Dawn might very well get into another fight, especially now that she beat up that bully. Receipts are a thing in our business and they are a thing on the schoolyard, unfortunately. That bully might come back after her. She should learn how to defend herself at the very least. Whether she follows in our footsteps?” She shrugs her shoulders. “That’s up to her. But I’m damn sure not going to encourage it.”
“Yes but what if Dawn is the one who starts the fight?” Kurt asks. “I don’t want to ever think the worst of our kids but we need to consider every possibility. We may be giving her some lethal weapons to use against these other kids.”
“You’re being daft, love.” Glory shakes her head. “There’s no way Dawn will start any fights.”
“How can you be so sure?”
“Because I know our daughter.” The British Bombshell insists. “And I would think you would know her too. You should know that starting fights, brawling, and that kind of thing isn’t her cup of tea. It’s Melinda’s, maybe, but not hers.” Glory stares at Kurt, studying him closely. “What is the real problem here? What’s troubling you, mate?”
“You really wanna know?”
“Yes.” Glory nods her head.
“Well you’re right. There is another thing about this that bothers me.” He sighs and shakes his head. “You had Melinda when you were just sixteen years old…” his voice trails off “...that was back when you were still in your fierce tomboy phase. That tomboy Glory Braddock that had no problem fighting if push came to shove. By the time you and I started dating, Melinda was already well formed into the person she would eventually become. There was little I could influence. Not that I’d want to…Mel’s a great girl. But Dawn…” he looks up in the ring at the two girls, now in a collar and elbow tie up “...she is my biological child. She is OURS. Melinda is your biological child and my step-daughter. But Dawn is ours together. I was there from her birth to now. I could shape and influence her. But she was born right when you were beginning to finally drift away from your tomboyish ways.
“It took me twenty years but hey, I’m a slow starter…” Glory says jokingly.
“Beyond that, Dawn grew up when you took on Aphrodite Noel as a mentor. These were the years when you slowly started to reconnect with your old friends, Frances Taylor and later Melody Murphy, two women who were always high society ladies. For a few years of Dawn’s upbringing you ceased to be that tomboy. You much more like a high society fashionista, like Aphrodite, Frances, and Melody.”
“I assume this is leading to a point of some sort?” Glory says, sounding a little frustrated.
“Now you have found a happy medium. But Melinda and Dawn represent the two parts of your life. Your tomboyish phase and your fashionista phase. I wasn’t surprised at all that Melinda wanted to follow in your footsteps and WRESTLE…that’s what you wanted to do, follow in your father’s footsteps and wrestle. But Dawn? I fully expected her to follow in your footsteps eventually but not to wrestle, maybe to manage someone? To promote? To run a company?”
“Are you worried that she’s not up for the challenge?” Glory asks with an arched brow. Kurt sighs and nods her head.
“She’s never expressed any interest in physicality before. Ever. So yes, I am a little concerned that she’s getting in over her head.”
“I see.” Glory says quietly. She takes in his words, pondering them for a moment, before turning her gaze back to him. “Do you ever worry about me when I wrestle?”
“Honestly?”
“Yes, I want honesty.” Glory states. “Do you get worried when I wrestle?”
“Damn right I do.” He nods his head. “When Xander Valentine choked you out, I was worried. When Polly and her pinhead pals put you in that freaking crate…without any air…yes, I was worried you were going to suffocate…”
“Are you worried about Under Attack? I am challenging that YUYO Princess for the Adrenaline Title. Are you worried that I might get hurt?” Glory shrugs her shoulders. “I mean, YUYO might kick me in the head at just the right place to give me a concussion. Who knows what might happen?”
“Yes, it does worry me but…” he shakes his head “...that’s just different.”
“How?”
“It just is.”
“Tell me…” Glory folds her arms over her chest “...how is it different with me?”
“Look…” he sighs out of frustration “...you are a trained professional. I keep reminding myself of that, I keep reminding myself that you have been doing this for sixteen years now. You really are one of the best wrestlers in the world. I know you’ll be fine at Under Attack, even if you do end up taking a move that makes me cringe.”
“Good, because that’s the right attitude to have, that’s the attitude you need to have when you are married to a wrestler. Did you forget what it was like to be a wrestler yourself, love?”
“Probably.” Kurt says with a sheepish grin on his face. “I’m sorry I worry so much.”
“Don’t apologize, it just means you love me.” She winks. “But I assure you that I CAN do this, I CAN endure and defeat YUYO at Under Attack. And I assure you that Dawn can not only survive but thrive in any aspect of wrestling she wants…whether she wrestles like Melinda or if she decides to be involved in a non-wrestling capacity. Either way we know how dangerous the sport is, even for the non-wrestlers. You saw what happened to Jessica Winters and The Enigma, right?”
“Yeah…” Kurt sighs and nods his head.
“Dawn needs to be able to defend herself REGARDLESS of what her future role may be in this business.” She shrugs her shoulders. “Besides, she’s not even a teenager yet. There’s still plenty of time left before she makes any final decisions about her future. She may change her mind and decide NOT to follow us into the wrestling business.”
“You’re right. As usual.” Kurt kisses Glory on the lips. “Thanks for putting up with me, babe.”
“Anytime, love.”
“Hey, lovebirds!” Kurt and Glory look up into the ring. Dawn is seated on the top turnbuckle of a ring corner and Melinda stands in the ring with a smirk on her face. “Now that I’ve showed Dawn some of the ropes why don’t you two come on in and join the fun.” She points at Glory. “Maybe I can even show you some moves to use against YUYO.”
“It’d be my pleasure, Melinda.”

The cameras begin to roll. Off in the distance a familiar feminine figure can be seen approaching. Eventually it becomes obvious that this is none other than Glory Braddock, the current number one contender to the SCW Adrenaline Champion, a woman who looks to regain gold at Under Attack. The British Bombshell stands with a confident, relaxed stance, her shoulder-length blonde hair catching the light in soft waves. Her hair is slightly tousled, giving her an effortlessly cool, casual look. She wears a fitted royal purple T-shirt, the rich color complementing her fair complexion and bringing out the subtle warmth in her hair. The T-shirt’s fabric clings gently to her frame, giving her a laid-back yet polished appearance. Her jeans are a classic, dark indigo with a slightly worn look, molded to her shape in a way that shows she’s comfortable yet ready for action. The jeans are a bit faded along the thighs and knees, suggesting they’ve been well-loved and frequently worn. She’s paired them with sturdy, ankle-high brown leather boots that have a slight heel and a few scuffs here and there, hinting at the many miles she’s walked in them. The boots have a rugged, durable look, completing her ensemble with a touch of strength and resilience.
“Never judge a book by its cover. That’s the age old adage, wise words to live by that most parents teach their children. But that same lesson can be applied to professional wrestling, don’t you agree? I might rephrase it, though; never underestimate an opponent, no matter their appearance. Sweet Little Ducky for instance. She may appear to be sweet and innocent, someone who couldn’t hurt a fly, but if you push the wrong buttons then someone else might come out who would have no problem punching your teeth down your throat or just simply ripping your spine out. You could also look at my own family, my cousin Kimberly Williams. She carries a plushy toy penguin to the ring for God’s sake! But anyone who has ever wrestled her knows just how dangerous she is when that bell rings.”
“The same could easily be said of the reigning SCW Adrenaline Champion. She calls herself a Magical Cosmic Princess. FOR JUSTICE! EXPLOSION! She has a magical wand and everything! One could easily look at her outward appearance, how she looks and how she behaves, and underestimate her.” Braddock shakes her head. “But underestimating you is the one mistake I will not make, YUYO. Since your return to SCW you have already beaten my cousin, Marie Jones, a woman who has nearly done it all in SCW, and you beat her twice. Then there was Bree Lancaster, a Supreme Champion, and you beat her twice. Anyone who overlooks you because of your erratic behavior is destined to fail. But I will not make that mistake, YUYO. I look at you and see you as the very real threat that you are. I see you as potentially one of the great SCW stars of our time. I look at you and I see big things on the horizon for you. I know that I will have to be at the top of my game if I am to defeat you and bring home that Adrenaline Championship.” Glory points a finger at the camera.
“What about you? What mistakes is the Magical Cosmic Princess making? Most casual observers would argue that you are not making many mistakes. You captured the Adrenaline Championship and under your leadership the Shining Maidens have brought the Underground Title to your little fold and are positioning yourselves quite nicely for a tag title shot. But therein lies mistake number one…you are stretching yourself and the Shining Maidens way too thin. Sure, there have been groups to come and go in SCW who have dominated the landscape. The Beauty Factory, Infamous, I could go on and on. But how long have they lasted? Huh? How long did they last before the overextension get the better of them? Consider that, YUYO, as you and your team prepares its next move.”
“Which brings me to mistake number two; you are assuming that you are immaculate. You assume that nothing you do is wrong. You, myself, and Gavin did not win Trios and whose fault was that? You win as a team and you lose as a team…that’s another old adage, YUYO, one that you would do well to remember as a leader. A team shares in the blame in the midst of a loss but you instead tried to throw myself and Gavin under the bus. It couldn’t have been your fault, oh no! Nothing you do is ever at fault! Nothing you do is ever wrong! And yet Ryan Lecavalier proved that assessment wrong, didn’t she? If you were as impeccable as you think, then by all means, you should have been able to defeat her one on one.” The British Bombshell shakes her head.
“But you failed. You could not get the job done. You had to settle for a draw as a result of a double count out. For someone who claims they are as perfect as you, anything less than a victory is failure, YUYO, and by the way, a count out will not save you at Under Attack. Remember that.” Glory Braddock winks at the camera. “Yes, YUYO, you have certainly made a litany of mistakes. They may not be as obvious to the casual observer but to a keen wrestling mind, to an expert wrestling eye, those mistakes are plain as day. I could go on and mention more of the mistakes you have made since your return to SCW but I was taught to never let your opponent know EVERYTHING you know. That was just a little sampling of what I know about you, of what I have observed.”
“Careful observation and study, that’s what this boils down to, YUYO. I carefully observed everything Sapphire Taylor had and I was ready for her and I choked her out. David Striker wanted to get his pound of flesh but I was ready for him and I beat him. Your fancy outfits and costumes make you unique and special, YUYO, but deep down underneath it all you are no different than Sapphire or Striker. Like them you have your strengths and you have your weaknesses. I have observed you this entire time, being on your Trios team was especially helpful to gaining some insight into your game. I know your strengths and I am ready for them. I know your weaknesses and I am ready to exploit them.”
“Now I said I wasn’t going to mention any further weaknesses of yours that I had noticed. Well, I lied.” Glory shrugs her shoulders. “Sorry! But this one is important because this particular weakness is what really sets us apart and might very well be the deciding factor at Under Attack. Are you ready for it, YUYO?” Glory smirks knowingly and pauses for dramatic effect for dropping the bomb.
“You are becoming complacent. You have fought everyone from psychos, to monsters, to high flyers, to technical marvels during your two runs in SCW. You won a tournament, you wrestled and won three matches in one night to earn the right to challenge for the Adrenaline Title. You beat Bree twice. And what happened since then? You couldn’t hold up your end of the deal at Trios…yes, Gavin and I share in that one, but so do you little miss Princess…and you allowed yourself to be trapped the way you were by Ryan Lecavalier and got counted out? That’s no swipe at Ryan, by the way. What she did was incredible. But you, YUYO? You should have been able to avoid that.”
“Face facts, YUYO, you got your prize by defeating Bree Lancaster and you became the Adrenaline Champion. But ever since then you have been complacent. I know because I have been there. The SCW Adrenaline Championship was the first title I won here in SCW and I had good run with it before I became complacent and allowed myself to be beaten. So I know complacency when I see it and trust me, I see it. I see complacency when I look into your eyes. And that’s what really separates us, YUYO. That’s what will be the deciding factor. Because I am not complacent. That Adrenaline Championship is special to me because it was the first title I ever won in SCW. And that reign ended badly for me, it ended in a humbling fashion because of my complacency. But now I have the chance to set things right. Now I have a chance to reclaim that title and have the run with the Adrenaline Title that I had always wanted. This isn’t about chasing championships. This is about something bigger. I want to rewrite history and you are in my way.”
“I will see you at Under Attack, YUYO. Just keep that title belt warm for me because you have made far too many mistakes by now and those mistakes are going to cost you everything. I guarantee it.” She shuts her eyes. “Sic Semper Tyrannis.”
