Breakdown from Texas did not go as planned for “The British Bombshell” Glory Braddock. She came out to the ring hoping to explain her position, explain why she did not want to participate in Taking Hold of the Flame. Ultimately her reasoning boiled down to perceived bias from CHBK and a refusal to play a part of his game, and also a recognition that she can afford to be patient and wait. Why attempt the impossible, why try to go from bell to bell in Taking Hold of the Flame, when she can wait until after Rise To Greatness and earn a world championship match later on? The British Bombshell is supremely confident in her own skills and abilities and she knows that she can work her way back into the title scene, she can earn a title match the long way and thus bypass the shortcut called Taking Hold of the Flame. While Braddock got that message across, and while she is confident most of her fanbase accept her explanation and still support her, not everyone in the back agree with her decision. Ryan Lecavalier might be one in particular who did not agree with Glory’s statement. Ryan assaulted Braddock as she was leaving the ring. Why? The British Bombshell doesn’t really know but she can reasonably guess that it has something to do with her backing out of Taking Hold of the Flame. And she won’t have any time to recover from the beating. Next week on Breakdown from Atlanta, Georgia The British Bombshell faces an old nemesis in David Striker. They had battled once, fiercely, but she assumed they had made peace. Is this match just luck of the draw or does Striker want a piece of The British Bombshell as well for backing of the battle royal? Either way, Braddock knows that she will need to be ready for a war. Striker is not an easy opponent. But for now, Glory has other business to attend to that brings her to Boston, Massachusetts.

The cobblestone path wound its way through a garden manicured to near perfection — rose bushes blooming in measured clusters, delicate ivy climbing a white trellis arch, and the faint gurgle of a hidden fountain just out of sight. At the end of the path stood the kind of house people paused to admire. Three stories of colonial elegance painted a soft ivory, with black shutters, wrought-iron balconies, and tall, graceful windows that caught the afternoon sun like polished glass. Glory Braddock adjusted the strap of her purse and scratched her head beneath her black baseball cap. Her long blonde hair had been stuffed inside the cap in a lazy twist, a few strands slipping out and catching the breeze. She wore a navy hoodie zipped halfway up over a faded t-shirt with the logo of her father, Glenn Braddock’s, wrestling school on the front, and her jeans had more wear than style to them. Her boots thudded quietly on the stone path. She took in the house with a whistle.

“Bloody hell,” she muttered, “didn’t think I’d be showing up looking like a roadie at a fashion gala.” The front door opened just as she reached the top step, and there stood Kayla Jones glowing as if lit from within by confidence and control. She looked every bit the Boston socialite, with her red hair swept into soft waves and a deep emerald dress tailored within an inch of its life. Pearls sat around her neck like they’d been born there.

“There she is,” Kayla said, her voice warm and amused as she stepped forward with open arms. “You look like you came straight from a tour bus.”

“I almost did,” Glory replied with a grin, stepping into the hug. “Took the red-eye and got changed in an airport loo. Figured you’d appreciate the authenticity.”

“I do,” Kayla said with a laugh, pulling back and giving her cousin a once-over. “You’re lucky the neighbors are out at the vineyard today. You’d have caused a panic.”

“Oh no,” Glory said with mock concern. “Not a panic. I’d never recover.”

Kayla stepped aside and gestured toward the doorway. “Come on in, you savage.”

Glory smirked and crossed the threshold, pausing just inside the entryway. The house was spacious, gleaming, and somehow cozy despite its size. Hardwood floors gleamed under woven rugs, and sunlight spilled through tall windows across the walls, which were lined with a tasteful mix of art and family photos.

“I forgot how nice this place was,” Glory murmured, running a hand along the smooth railing of the staircase. “You’ve done well for yourself, Kay.”

“Well,” Kayla said, closing the door behind her, “someone in the family had to go legitimate.”

“Oi, I’m plenty legitimate.” Glory laughed, the sound echoing softly through the foyer. “I do run my own company.”

“Of course you do,” Kayla said sweetly. “You just also have more lawsuits and bar fights.”

They shared a smile — genuine, easy, unburdened by distance or differences. There was affection in their banter, the kind that comes from a long-standing bond that no time apart could erode.

“Come,” Kayla said, already walking down the hall, her heels clicking softly. “Let’s sit in the sunroom. I’ll make tea.”

And as they moved deeper into the house, it felt less like a reunion and more like a return; not dramatic or heavy, but something gentler. Familiar. Safe. Familiar is something she needed right now, along with the safety. This ongoing feud with her former friend Frances Taylor is threatening her own corporate world but that’s not the worst part. It tears Glory Braddock apart knowing that she could lose a friend over Frances’s greed. Yet this afternoon in Boston isn’t about the friendship. Glory is here to warn Kayla about Frances Taylor.

Kayla Jones runs a modeling agency and, when it looked to be in dire straits and in danger of going under. Glory pulled some strings within her own company to buy it out and thus placing it under Braddock’s corporate control but letting Kayla maintain the day to day operations. Glory effectively saved her cousin’s modeling agency. Frances Taylor, though, is targeting everything Glory Braddock’s company is involved with and that potentially could include her cousin’s modeling agency. Kayla Jones leads them into the sunroom. Glory finds herself a seat and gets comfortable. Kayla then starts to walk off.

“You stay there. I’ll go get that tea started.”

“No, wait.”

“Hmmm?” Kayla stops and turns to face her cousin.

“You need to sit too.” Glory says, motioning to a seat next to her. “We need to talk.”

“Oh well that doesn’t sound good at all.” Kayla remarks with a wry grin as she walks back over and sits down next to her cousin. She smiles warmly. “So what’s up, Glory?”

“I think you know what’s up, Kay.” Braddock says sternly. “Frances…”

“Oh, her.” Kayla sighs and rolls her eyes. “What about her?”

“Well did you get the messages I sent you? Did you get my warnings?” Glory seems to be slightly panicked, a sense of urgency is in her voice. Her cousin, on the other hand, does not appear to be bothered in the slightest. Kayla just shrugs her shoulders, seemingly unfazed.

“Yes, Glory, I got all of those messages.”

“But you never answered me back.” Glory points out. “Hence why I am here.”

“Oh and here I thought you wanted to catch up.” Kayla answers back, smiling brightly.

“Don’t be smart with me, Kay.” Glory shoots back. “This is serious.”

“I know, I’m sorry.” Kayla nods her head. “I am taking it serious, though. As soon as I heard those warnings from you about Frances and all of those games she’s been playing lately, I instantly took the steps to safeguard my modeling agency.”

“You did?” Glory asks. Kayla nods her head.

“Everything you suggested, I did. I have the people I trust the most listening out for possible rumors and propaganda about the agency.”

“And…?”

“And nothing.” Kayla shakes her head. “There have been absolutely zero hint of rumors or propaganda, lies or anything being spread about the modeling agency. There have been no talk about poaching our models, convincing them to leave us for someone else. I even took additional steps.”

“What additional steps?” Glory asks with an arched brow.

“Well you were so worked up about Frances poaching our girls…so I gave them all a bonus.” Kayla smirks. “They’re happy to work here and have no intention to leave for any possible competitors, let alone for someone like Frances Taylor.”

“Good.” Braddock breathes a sigh of relief, as if a weight has been lifted off of her shoulders. This is the first good news she has heard in a long time. Kayla, meanwhile, rolls her eyes.

“Honestly, though, I think you are working yourself up a bit too much over this.”

“No, I’m not.” Glory shakes her head. “This is a serious threat.”

“Frances may have this weird power trip going on right now where she is jealous, bitter, and thinks she can take you down, but I really don’t think she is going to try and come after you through the modeling agency.” Kayla grins. “I mean, it’s still MY agency, not yours.”

“No, it is my modeling agency.” The British Bombshell points out. “Remember, you may run the day to day operations and I may keep my nose out of it because I know next to nothing about the modeling industry, but remember this agency is still under my corporate umbrella.”

“I know.” Kayla remarks dryly. “Don’t remind me.”

“And you’re right, Frances is on some kind of power trip. She wants to put me out of business and she has already threatened to come after EVERYTHING my company is involved with and that everything would, arguably, include this modeling agency.”

“Ok, fine, that’s a very valid point.” Kayla sighs and then shrugs her shoulders. “But if we’re being honest with each other, I don’t think you need to worry about me or MY agency.”

“And why not?” Braddock asks. “She’s coming after everything I have, including this agency.”

“That may be true, but Frances is your childhood friend…right?”

“WAS my friend, yeah.” Glory nods her head.

“So she knows you. She knows you very well. Frances would know that your thing is wrestling. Wrestling is where your bread is buttered. Wrestling is where your company’s bread is buttered. Professional wrestling is where your company makes the vast majority of its profit. Am I correct?”

“Yes…” Glory’s voice trails off as she tries to figure out where her cousin is going with this line of thought.

“If she really wants to hurt you then she will hit you where it hurts the most; wrestling. Plus if she takes down your company’s biggest source of profit…well…”

“...I won’t be able to support your modeling agency any longer.”

“Precisely.” Kayla nods her head. “She doesn’t need to come after me. And I don’t think she ever will come after me. From what you’ve told me in all of those messages and dire warnings and whatnot, it seems that her major beef is with you and she will likely keep it that way.”

The British Bombshell nods her head. There is no denying the logic of Kayla’s thought process. Frances Taylor is jealous of Glory Braddock. She wants to bring Glory Braddock down. Why would she target Kayla’s modeling agency? Glory cares about wrestling, not about modeling. IT would hurt Braddock personally and financially by targeting her through professional wrestling. There was no need to try and bring Kayla Jones into this. Braddock sighs and shakes her head.

“I’m sorry, Kay. You’re right. Frances isn’t going to come after you. I mean, why would she?” Braddock shrugs her shoulders. “Like you said, her problem is with me. Yet here I am trying to bring you into my problems. I’m sorry…”

“Don’t be that way and don’t apologize.” Kayla grins warmly. “We are family. We help each other out. I haven’t forgotten how you saved my modeling agency from financial collapse. You don’t have to ask, I would do anything I can to help you. Just say the word.”

“Do you mean it?”

“Of course.”

This brings another welcome sense of relief that washes over The British Bombshell. She leans in and hugs Kayla tightly. After breaking the hug Glory smiles back at her.

“Thanks, Kay. I appreciate this…listening to my troubles and all that…this is just really hard. You know? Frances is…was…my friend. I don’t know why she’s doing this.”

“Jealousy will make people do strange things, Glory.” Kayla points out.

“I don’t think that this is just simple jealousy.” Braddock shakes her head in disagreement. “She literally wants to ruin me. She wants to destroy my company and all because I wouldn’t let her have free reign to run the company however she wants.”

“Yeah, I remember you saying something about that in one of your messages.” Kayla says, nodding her head. “You mentioned a boyfriend of hers?”

“Dominic Sterling.” Glory says. “He comes from money but never earned any of it, never worked for any of it. He had it all handed to him. I am convinced he is the one who corrupted her. He turned her against me. Me and Frances had a great friendship before he got involved.”

“Is Frances happy with him?”

“She claims she is but she certainly hasn’t acted the same since he came along.”

“Unfortunately I don’t know what else to tell you.” Kayla shrugs her shoulders. “Like I said, I will do whatever I can to help, but Frances is YOUR friend. At the end of the day, you two might just have to sit down and talk this out. You might have to find out what she really is angry about.”

Braddock nods her head. Kayla is right about one thing; Frances and Glory are friends. They used to be friends, now their friendship is all but over because Frances is jealous, because Frances wanted more power within Glory’s company and Glory was unwilling to grant her that power. This is a situation that the two of them, as friends, may have to ultimately resolve if Glory can convince Frances to sit down and talk.

The British Bombshell also has David Striker to deal with. She needs to continue to ride the wave of momentum she created by tapping out Kemal. A victory over Striker would help with that. The more victories she racks up, the closer she will get to earning a championship match without having to go through Taking Hold of the Flame. She also has to keep in mind the attack from Ryan Lecavalier. Why did she attack The British Bombshell and will she strike again?
