THURSDAY 15TH
(Bekah sits on a couch, doing some publicity shots for her upcoming in-ring debut, and enjoying the experience. This was a part of the job that Owen never really relished, but for her it was second nature. She had always enjoyed being the center of attention, even since being a child, and now wasn’t any different and with the camera on her, she didn’t feel out of place. The crew call for a break, and one of them, Debbie, comes over with a smile on her face.)
Debbie: Have you seen?
Bekah: Seen what?
Debbie: Frederico spoke… and it’s a doozy
Bekah: Really? You got it there?
Debbie: Yeah, one minute.
(Debbie opens the Instagram app, and scrolls to his post, loading it up and the two of them watching it together. Bekah never stops smiling, even chuckling at points, until it ends.)
Bekah: Wow… Debbie, do you reckon you can do me a favor?
Debbie: What’s that?
Bekah: Can we do a live stream, right now?
Debbie: Sure… you don’t want to prepare?
Bekah: Nah, just make sure you tag in SCW yeah? I want everyone to hear this.
Debbie: No worries, give me a minute.
(She prepares before pointing the camera at Bekah.)
Debbie: OK, shoot.

“Hey guys, Bekah here. Doing some publicity shots for Breakdown and just taking a break to comment on what Freddy had to say about me a moment ago. Was going to leave, but sometimes, things gotta be said you know and this is one of those moments. Freddy, I do want to congratulate for doubling down on the whole ‘females in wrestling’ thing, because although your arguments didn’t make a great deal of sense, at least you stood by your beliefs. But the main thing I want to congratulate you on is basically doing my job for me and showing the world that you are every bit as stupid as I thought you were. See, you are right… as a rookie, I shouldn’t have the right to come on here and disrespect you in the way I did. You think I should know my place, and usually, you’d be right. In fact, if it had been probably 95% of the rest of this roster, my attitude would have been different, but it wasn’t them Fred, it was you. And you sir, have done NOTHING to earn my respect. See, when you come out with the sexist bullshit, no female on this roster is going to respect you, and you don’t care, I get that. But the reason I spoke to you in the way I did was simply because that is what you deserved. You don’t think I belong here, and that’s fine, that’s your prerogative, but if you think I’m going to play nice of the back of it, you are sadly mistaken. The worst part of it all though, is that I wasn’t surprised by this response. Not in the slightest.
Obviously, because I’m a ‘nepo baby’, I’ll come back to that in a bit, I spoke to those that had seen, and done it all in this company, as to how to approach what I was about to do. I spoke with Shaun, and I spoke with Owen and amongst all the pearls of wisdom there were three things that they told me to expect. One, they are going to come at you and tell them you are cashing in on the Cruze name. Two, they are going to call you generic. And three, they are going to say you are boring. Check, Check and Check, because those were the basis for your defense, even though your comments could have been thought up by a second grader, and your whole physique makes you just about as generic as they come. It’s obvious to me you didn’t listen to a word I said, and you’d already drawn your conclusions without even stepping into the ring with me. My comments should have at least formed the possibility of other conclusions, but no… you’d already made your mind up. Konrad Raab lite, just like the rest of the Fiery knob heads, each one of you from different countries, but still somehow sounding the same.
So, nepo baby, a term I’m guessing you only learned in the last couple of weeks and felt the need to use it about a thousand times in one promo. Don’t get antsy, that’s an over-exaggeration, it wasn’t that many, but it was a lot. Tell me, do you think that Shaun and Owen didn’t face the exact same allegations? My Father was the Icon, a bona fide legend, someone who define this industry for years to come. Of course, the Cruze family are all going to have this huge broad shouldered shadow looming over us. But guess what Freddy, that is what inspired Shaun and Owen, to break from that shadow and form their own career. You call Shaun and Owen the same term as you have given me, and yet both were World Champions, have you even come close to that? You say I’m only here because of who my dad was, totally ignoring what I did in one of the toughest matches in SCW, Taking Hold of the Flame, a match that your mentor always avoided. My whole narrative, which wasn’t as convoluted as yours, focused on one ideology. Not talking but doing… and yet YOU are with the generic rhetoric. Not even giving me a chance. Tell me, Freddy, what are you going to do when I beat you? What excuses are you going to bring to the table when the EFN must bail you out? If us ‘Nepos’ get all the opportunities given to them, why the hell am I facing you in my first match and not someone much, MUCH more talented? Simple, just like Shaun, and just like Owen when he was competing, the Cruze family never needed anything handing to them on a plate. And you can rewrite history if you wish, but it isn’t anything that the archives wouldn’t show anyone who dared to educate themselves.
Those that are not like you.
Now, for someone who doesn’t know Konrad much apparently, you certainly went in hard to defend him. To even ask a question like ‘How do I know Konrad?’ is a ridiculous notion, seeing as his whole life has been a constant share. I didn’t need Owen or Shaun to tell me the kind of person he is, I saw. I saw how every word he spoke was about violence, blood, and how little he cared about others. Unlike you, who by the looks of it doesn’t give any thought to what he is saying, and prefers to just hope something sticks, I do my homework… because I want to be a success. Getting to know who the EFN is means I had to understand who Konrad was.
Simple really, isn’t it?
Look Fred, I’m going to level with you now. I listen to you, and it’s clear you don’t have the first clue of how important this first match is to me, and how important I know it is to lay down a marker for everyone else I will face this season, as I try to make it, in one of the most talented rosters in the world. I lose to you, and I understand more than most that the locker room chatter is going to intensify, and every word you have said is going to look like the truth. It’s also clear that you have no idea of my family history, and how important it was to finally be known as a respected member of the Cruze family, and how much I know want to solidify the legacy that my dad, Shaun and Owen built. You’ve dismissed me as a woman. Mistake number one. You dismissed the legacy I am a part of. Mistake number two. And you didn’t recognize me as a talent. Mistake number three. All this, whilst having NO accomplishments to speak of, and having the narrative and physique of someone who belongs to the eighties when powerhouses were all the rage. My strength isn’t in my size, or power Frederico, it’s in my intelligence and will to succeed. You don’t get that now, and there is every chance you’ll never allow yourself to learn the truth. Syren, Selena, Glory, Amelia… I could go on and on, all of them faced these same statements from the uneducated. Those man that did make it, like my family, did so because they understood what you do not. Size and strength are fine attributes, but it’s got you nothing more than a probable pencil dick. And when I put you away this week, it’s going to be far more than your ego that is bruised. Go be a ‘two sport’ competitor, my guess is just like Konrad, you’ll be better at racing than you’ll ever be at wrestling. The funny thing is everyone knows this… but you. I may never be a World Champion, that is just about the most truthful statement you made. But you know what, having listened to you, and seen you in the ring, knowing the competitor you are, I reckon I stand more of a chance than you, and I’ve not even debuted. That, whether you like it or not, is very damning towards you.
But, unlike you, I’m not going to take you lightly, and am going to be giving no less that 100% when I step into that ring. I know that if I allow you to overpower me, it’s going to be a very short night for me, and that’s why I am not going to allow that to happen. By mentioning your bodybuilding background, you have basically told me how you are going to compete this match, so I’m going to live by one adage.
You can’t kill, what you can’t catch
Because there is no true way to how a wrestler should look Freddy, and I think my brother, who you hold with obvious disdain, proved that more than I ever could. He was probably the smallest guy on the roster but became the youngest two-time World Champion of all time. Did he look like your ideal competitor? The facts are mate, you live in a fantasy world, a bygone era that has passed you by. Yes, you probably would have been a success back in 1985 when your mentor was in his forties… another joke, but now, it takes MUCH more than just power. And the fact that I, the debutant, am preaching that to you isn’t disrespect. It’s because I was born in this business. You say that none of your family have been in the business as if that’s a good thing, and yet I have generational experience on my side. Athletes in this business now look after themselves better than ever, THAT is the primary reason why women compete on the level playing field. Everything you claim, even the nepo baby bullshit, it’s far from an hinderance. In fact, it’s my greatest strength.
So, if you feel sick now having to face me, I can’t imagine how you are going to feel when you lose. But truthfully, I reckon right now, you are the only one that will be surprised. Usually, I’d be earmarked for a defeat on my opening match, because that’s how it should be, a learning curve. I’m going to be getting plaudits for winning my opening match, but I won’t have earned them, not really. Not because of my performance, but because of you. The guy who already believes he’s won this match, and knows exactly who I am.
But doesn’t have the first clue
No one forced me to be her Freddy, I’m here to be a part of something special with my family. I’m here to be a part of a Legacy that when we are gone, will never be forgotten by this industry, in comparison with yourself who seems to have been forgotten already. Like I told you in the beginning, I don’t need words to make my point. I’m happy to make people understand in the ring. I’m going to show you, and everyone else who might think it, that I’m not Orlando, Shaun or Owen. I’m Bekah. I’m the new girl in town, ready to make good on MY name, and establish myself as part of something amazing. I chose SCW, because the best in the world is a part of this company. If you want to be absolute, this is the place to do it.
Laugh it up, play the big MAN, none of that was ever my concern.
Now sit down and know your place… as I embarrass you in front of the eyes of the world. And show everyone what a pathetic little boy you truly are. Frederico... you don't know me.
Bye guys, see you soon.”

Bekah: Every word.

Bekah: Yeah, I know. But with what we have planned, they will soon have something else to talk about, and I will be the least of their concerns
Debbie: Ohh, spill the tea.
