“Supreme Championship Wrestling...”

A shot of Kelcey Wallace nailing Bree Lancaster with the Perfect Ending, followed by a shot of Steve Griffin hitting the Decimator off the top rope on CHBK at the first Rise to Greatness, before turning a shot of Jake Starr pumping up the crowd on his way to the ring, before turning into a shot of Ravyn Taylor sitting in the corner, waiting for the start of a match. We then see a shot of Katie Steward holding the Women’s Championship before cutting to a shot of Selena Frost hitting Vixen Cain with the Defying Gravity at Supreme Saturday: Just Desserts.

“The leading force in sports and entertainment today....”

MAIN SHOW:

“Psycho in my Head” by Skillet plays as we see a shot of Selena Frost standing on the stage, about to the run to the ring. We then see shots of Bree Lancaster hitting someone with the Rectifier and Simon Lyman posing with his arms out.

Maybe I'm just paranoid

Or maybe I'm just livin' a lie

Can't stop this screamin' voice

Or maybe I'm just sick inside

Shots of Kandis hitting Gratuitous on an opponent, before showing the Fall of Man standing tall. Katie Steward is next shown posing, before we see David Striker diving over the top rope and Josh Hudson standing on the stage, smiling. Shots of Enigma, Simon Lyman and the European Fiery Nation follow, superimposed over the Breakdown logo.

This is the face

I hate the other side of me

Out of this cage

He breaks to take the life from me

Tell me, tell me, tell me

I'm not crazy

Syren is shown hitting Xander Valentine with the Total Makeover before showing the Shinigami Foundation standing in the ring talking to the crowd. Glory Braddock is next shown hitting the London Plunge before we see The One Kirsten Scott proudly holding the SCW Television Championship. WASLEY is next shown as Kimberly Williams is seen smirking. The Breakdown logo flashes on the screen.

There's a psycho in my head

I'm closer to the edge

Makin' me feel like I'm livin' in misery, misery

Insane

These voices in my brain

Starting to feel like it's gonna be the death of me, death of me

Gavin Taylor hitting the Gavin Taylor Lariat on an opponent is next, before we see the Glimmer Sisters making her entrance. Konrad Raab punching Ace Marshall in a steel cage is shown next, before we see Light in the Darkness hitting Wisteria Waltz against an opponent. Lexy Chapel is then shown showing off Syren. Amy Chastaine posing follows before we see James Evans powerbombing La Pequena Luz off the top rope.

There's a psycho in my, there's a psycho in my head

Shots of Deanna Frost, Ryan LeCavalier, Waylon Creek, Xander Valentine, and Meghan Strader are shown before the Breakdown logo comes up on the screen.

We then cut to a live shot of the inside of the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. The crowd cheers as pyro shoots out from the base of the stage. The display continues for a few moments before spotlights circle the arena, and the cameras pan across the crowd for a few moments.

Sharper: “Coming off a wild night at Hubris, we have a new World Champion and we now barrel toward Taking Hold of the Flame!”

The cameras continue to pan throughout the crowd before settling at ringside where we see Adam Sharper joined by Devon Kayl and Jonathan Knots.

Sharper: “Hello again everyone. Adam Sharper, here with Jonathan Knots and Devon Kayl. We are live, for Breakdown, in Seattle, Washington. And folks, we have a new World Champion.”

Knots: “SCW isn’t Gavin again…for now. But Amelia Nevado is finally crowned where she deserves as the best in SCW!”

Sharper: “And as part of that, Selena Frost stunned. Nevado choking her out to win the title. Chris Dumont involved in that match. It was a chaotic scene and we expect to hear from all of them including Syren who nearly walked out as champion. One of the hardest fought World Title matches in recent memory.”

Kayl: “But what about tonight. Tonight, Xander Valentine is in the ring. He faces Chris Lawler and they both are in a surly mood after Hubris.”

Sharper: “Ryan LeCavalier will also challenge for the TV Championship. All this and much more here tonight on Breakdown.”

The lights around the arena begin to flicker in red, white, and blue as "Fortunate Son" by CCR starts to play over the arena. Cameras pan the Pitchbook suites before we see Gavin Taylor walking forward, microphone in his hand. Jenni Anderson stands next to him as he looks out at the crowd. He waves a bit before pointing at a fan, giving them a thumbs up, before then scanning the arena. The crowd boos Gavin as Gavin looks around.

Gavin: “I told you the steal would come and be present.”

The crowd boos.

Gavin: “And despite the best efforts of the All Star Secret Service…despite the efforts of the incomparable Dean Black…SCW has a pest problem and that pest problem has led to one of the greatest injustices in American history!”

The crowd boos.

Gavin: “First, I offer my congratulations to my co-champion, Amelia Nevado! She fought hard through the noise and tried to do the right thing. There has been a need for people to do the right thing. To see through the efforts of Aloof Alex, Scheme-y Syren, and Slain Selena! To stand for what is right…and all she needed was a chance. A chance I gave her. Fantastic Frank gave her. We believed in her. And she tried also to stop the steal. And fortunately, SCW is still in good hands.”

Gavin looks around.

Kayl: “Wonder how Amelia feels being called a co-champion.”

Gavin: “But with masked men running around and trying to hamper Polly. And Polly Playtime…remember…we got you! We’ll always got you.”

Gavin points at the crowd.

Gavin: “But the fact is that the shining moment in this sport – the amazing, stupendous, without comparison competition between two true patriots. Two people who stand for all that is good in wrestling. All that is good in the world. Australia’s lost son, me, Gavin Taylor…against Britain’s prodigal daughter….Amelia Nevado…that was prevented at Hubris and all in a brazen attempt to steal the title from our grasp. But SCW is being made Gavin again. We will not stop. We will not stop fighting the steal. And I am pleased to announce that at Taking Hold of the Flame, the match that SHOULD have headlined Hubris will take place at Taking Hold of the Flame! That’s right!”

Gavin nods.

Gavin: “The numbers we’re gonna have for that match – through the roof. In the millions. No…billions. The people want to see us fight for the greatest prize in the game…a prize even greater now that I’ve held it. That’s right. The SCW World Championship.”

Gavin pauses as the crowd gives a solid reaction.

Gavin: “But…and there’s a but. It’s a little but, but it’s but.”

Gavin pauses briefly.

Gavin: “That pest problem I mentioned. And that’s Crazy Chris Dumont.”

The crowd cheers.

Gavin: “Chris Dumont came to Australia to steal the title. He attacked me in cold blood…using sorcery and witchcraft…no good people use witchcraft and sorcery. And then he drove me through the Spanish announce table. Why was there a Spanish announce table? They don’t even speak Spanish in Australia!”

The crowd roars as Gavin looks around, getting animated.

Gavin: “Why was that table even there? And why was he allowed to get involved? But don’t worry because next week, you the fans can ensure that we make him pay!“

“Here Comes Revenge” by Metallica plays as the crowd roars. Gavin turns to the stage as we then see Chris Dumont walk out from the back, holding a microphone, Aisling Reed by his side. Chris Dumont looks up at the suite Gavin is in and just shakes his head.

Sharper: “Well I think Dumont heard enough.”

Knots: “I want to hear more. Mute his mic!”

Gavin: “How dare you bring yourself in front of me! You should be in jail!”

Dumont: “Oh trust me Gavin…I will be doing much more that will make me deserve that fate!”

Gavin: “Are you threatening me?!”

Dumont: “Gavin! Australia was just a taste. I said I would make sure that you would feel it, regret it…you can call it what you want. But I am going to take EVERYTHING from you!”

Dumont looks at Gavin. The crowd roars.

Dumont: “And next week, I take another bit from you, from your soul, from whatever I can take. Name the stipulations you want, Gavin. None of it will help you as the fan’s can sign your death warrant, and I’m coming to collect! You made the biggest mistake of your career when you took me out. Well, Gavin…you can call me a pest, because I’m going nowhere. And I’m going to be wherever you are. You want your match against Amelia, I’ll be there. You want to take over another club. I’ll be there. You want to try and get rid of me, you won’t be able to, Gavin. Because I am FAR from done with you!”

Gavin: “Security! Get this man out of here!”

Dumont: “Next week, Gavin…see it coming now. I’m leaving you laying!”

Gavin looks around. He then turns to Jenni who just shrugs at him. Dumont then points at Gavin.

Dumont: “Tick tock. You won’t be worrying about the World Title when I’m done with you!”

“Here Comes Revenge” plays as Dumont stares down Gavin. Gavin looks around, flummoxed, before turning and heading into his suite. Jenni Anderson yells at Dumont to leave Gavin alone.

Sharper: “Chris Dumont is going to keep coming.”

Kayl: “Like a Terminator. And Gavin unleashed this.”

Knots: “Unleashed this. Sometimes you break a few eggs to do what you need to do. Chris should just realize that!”

Sharper: “Next week, Dumont has Gavin, one on one, and with a stipulation determined by the fan’s. And we’ll have that information for you later tonight.”

Dumont smirks as the scene cuts away.

Sharper: “And let’s go backstage where Jessica Winters is with another member of the Troupe, David Striker!”

Backstage, David Striker stands with Jessica Winters outside of the Troupe’s locker room.

Winters: “Thank you Adam. David, Hubris was not the night you wanted it to be and Asher Hayes still the Underground Champion. You claimed it was your belt and yet, in your battleground, he came out ahead.”

Striker sighs and shakes his head.

Striker: “The son of a bitch got one over me. Good on him. He can take that to the bank. But if thinks I’m going to just stand by and watch. No…See, just like Kimberly Williams, I have a certain synergy with that title. And I have every intention to hold that belt. And so, I’m not going to stand back. Instead, I’m going to keep coming. I’ll go through anyone in my way. Because I’ll be damned if someone like Chris Lawler or someone like Dexter Grant, or the Glimmers or the EFN get their hands on that title before me. So Hayes…you have that win over me. Be proud. But I’ll be back…and I’m going to cause some chaos before I get back there. Because damn it…I’m not standing back!”

Striker steps forward and back into the Troupe locker room.

Winters: “Thank you David. Taking Hold of the Flame is coming up. I understand Striker has added himself to the list of name. Could that be one place for chaos? Who knows? But more to come here tonight, on Breakdown!”

The scene fades out.

COMMERCIALS

Frank Delatosso is seen talking to Dawn Lohan in the backstage area before we see Gavin Taylor walking over with Religious Wright and the All-Star Secret Service.

Gavin: “Fantastic Frank! Sorry to interrupt!”

Wright: “You need to listen to the real World Champion!”

Gavin: “Religious…”

Delatosso apologizes to Dawn before walking over.

Delatosso: “Gavin…look, the Chris situation needs to be dealt with next week.”

Wright: “Oh it will be! Chris will feel the power of the LAWRD and-“

Gavin and Delatosso both look at Wright, causing him to stop.

Gavin: “Oh it will be, but everything set up for Taking Hold of the Flame.”

Delatosso: “After Amelia has her moment, a moment she deserves, yes-“

We then see Polly Playtime burst into the scene.

Polly: “You! I need to talk to you.”

Gavin: “Polly, good to see you. We’re still behind you-“

Polly: “Really…then I need you to look me in the eye…all of you. Hubris…who the hell was that?”

Delatosso: “Polly, I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Polly: “So not even paying attention-“

Dawn: “Polly, stop overreacting. That’s not what he meant-“

Polly: “I’m not talking to you!”

Delatosso: “Polly…please. I didn’t mean I wasn’t paying attention. I don’t know who that masked person was. Trust me, nothing would have made me happy at Hubris than watching Shaun Cruze be humbled. And by you.”

Polly: “Well don’t we now have some people in security. Or in the office who can help.”

Delatosso: “I’ll get Dean on it.”

Polly: “And you know what…are those guards Shaun had still on the payroll?”

Delatosso nods.

Polly: “I want them. To keep people out of my business.”

Delatosso: “Fine…I’ll get them on the food.”

Polly: “Good. Because I’m sick of this shit!”

Polly storms off as Delatosso and Gavin watch her leave. Dawn just shakes her head in the background.

Gavin: “She’ll come around. She’s a good kid.”

Delatosso: “She needs to recognize we’re not trying to mess with her.”

Gavin: “The power of the steal…corrupts so many.”

Gavin shakes his head as the scene cuts away.

We return to ringside where Adam Sharper, Jonathan Knots, and Devon Kayl sit.

Sharper: “Welcome to ringside. Polly Playtime clearly upset about the situation that she found herself involved in. Meanwhile, Jon, it sounds like you had some trouble down in Australia.”

Knots: “The hell are you talking about?”

Kayl: “Something about a rabbit?”

Knots: “Don’t you dare-“

Sharper: “We’ve have this footage. This was from after the show.”

AFTER HUBRIS:

Jonathan Knots arrives in the makeup room and he moves to sit down in one of the prep chairs when suddenly the screen does a couple of static bursts and after the second one, the lighting in the make up room is different-instead of a bright and cheery normal light, the room is now subtly darker with a slight blue tint to the light reflecting off of the wall and that's when Knots notices a reflection in the mirror of a figure in a torn and bloodied rabbit suit.

Knots: “Who...What the-“

Knots moves to quickly try and scramble from the rabbit suited figure who simply follows him to the door that he can't open now as he starts to cower against the door before the rabbit stops and from its back produces a large barbed wire wrapped cricket bat which it holds firmly in its right hand.

Knots: “Look, I know that I'm really critical of Chris Dumont and the Phantom Troupe.... “

The rabbit then slams the cricket bat hard onto a near-by make up table, causing it to collapse as it shakes its head slowly at Knots who blinks in confusion.

Knots: “Wait... Dumont and his friends didn't send you?”

The rabbit makes a slight growling noise as it shakes its head again.

Knots: “Then who sent you?”

The rabbit reaches "into" itself and pulls out a rumbled piece of paper which it hands to Gavin before suddenly the screen does another couple of static bursts and after the second one, the lights are back to normal and everything at which point Knots worried looks around and unfolds the paper to read it.

Knots: “Please send the EFN and Glimmer Sisters our collective regards?? What the hell...”

Knots slowly gets back to his feet and walks over to where he was sitting before he crumples up the paper and throws it away with a dismissive tone.

Knots: “What do I look like, somebody's bitch??”

Suddenly the room "statics" again and then we hear a very loud *TWACK* in between the statics and after the second one, we see Knots cowering on the couch behind where he was sitting as the camera pans to the right to show us a large hatchet of all things buried deeply into the middle of the make up table with the words "Yes. Yes You Are." written in red on the mirror as the scene fades out.

We return live.

Knots: “Some BS Australian humour!”

Sharper: “So nothing to worry about. Seems they used you for a message.”

Kayl: “Isn’t that a guy over there in a rabbit suit-“

Knots: “Shut up!”

Dexter Grant vs. “Princess” Brittany Williams

“TokSik” by Starset hits as the lights in the arena immediately go out, a series of green spotlights converging onto the stage where fog has begun to consume it. The big screen show's a human eye opening, and reflecting in it is a montage of people glued to their phones and computers, either consuming or producing social media garbage as they all look sickly while doing so. “The Digital Detoxer” Dexter Grant marches out through the fog, stopping at the edge of the stage and staring out at the fans with disgust. A few cheers can be heard, but they're easily drowned out by all the boos raining down upon him. He turns his head to his right just in time to see his faithful flunky Wendell march out behind him, proudly holding up a protest sign that has the circle-backslash symbol with a wi-fi symbol behind the backslash and the words “DISCONNECT TO RECONNECT” written within the circle. Wendell eagerly looks up at Dexter, who smiles and nods in approval before he starts storming down to the ring, his disgusted look returning at the sound of all the people around him who just refuse to listen to his message. He jumps up onto the apron and aggressively steps through the ropes, marching to the center of the ring and turning his back to the hard cam as he points his thumb to the same “DISCONNECT TO RECONNECT” logo of his on the back of his vest. Wendell crawls into the ring and stands beside Dexter, proudly holding up his sign before looking legitimately confused as to why they're being booed. The lights return to normal as Dexter starts to pace around the ring. Wendell steps up to Phillips, pulling the microphone from the announcer, peering out to the crowd.

Wendell: “Now here we are. I see all your phones out, giving into the cancer that is social media. Put your phones down and let the importance that is your Digital Detoxer…DEXTER! GRANT!”

The crowd boos.

Wendell: “Lead your miscreants away from what will surely be your mental demise, if it hasn’t already…”
Just then, “Hot and dangerous
If you're one of us, then roll with us
'Cause we make the hipsters fall in love
When we've got our hot pants on and up

And yes, of course we does
We running this town just like a club
And no, you don't wanna mess with us
Got Jesus on my necklace-ace-ace

Got that glitter on my eyes
Stockings ripped all up the side
Looking sick and sexified
So let's go-o-o (Let's go)

Phillips: “And his opponent…. She is wrestling’s royalty. Third Generation superstar “Princess” Brittany Williams!!!

Phillips: “And his opponent, she is the Princess….Brittany! Williams!!!”

We R Who We R by Ke$ha begins to blast across all the speakers. Princess Brittany Williams emerges from behind the curtain wearing a Tiara on her head and a scepter in her hand. She smiles as the crowd welcomes her with cheers. Paparazzi snap photos of the little heiress as she walks to the ring doing a royalty wave. Brittany slides into the ring as she slowly takes her Tiara off and raises her scepter high into the air. She throws them to the side waiting for the match to begin.

Knots: “I can’t believe this so-called Princess just interrupted Wendell of all people. He was preaching the truth, and she just ruined it.”

Kayl: “I think she did everyone a favor, and I doubt I’m in the minority there.”

Sharper: “Either way, we have the newcomer Brittany Williams looking to gain some momentum since her debut. Dexter Grant wants to reclaim momentum as we head towards Taking Hold of the Flame.”

The ref calls for the bell as both competitors circle the ring before Dexter goes for a clothesline. Brittany dunks under it.

Sharper: “The Digital Detoxer missed big time with that.”

Knots: “I’m sure I saw someone take a picture of him. The flash blinded him. Those damn phones!”

Dexter turns around only for Brittany to connect with a kick to the midsection. Dexter doubles over and Brittany bounces off the ropes, connecting with a scissor kick.

Kayl: “Brittany has the momentum right now. Can she capitalize?”

Brittany goes for the cover.

1!

2!

Dexter kicks out.

Sharper: “The Princess getting a two count.”

Brittany grabs Dexter, only for Dexter to connect with a European uppercut. Brittany staggers back. Dexter grabs Brittany and hits a dragon suplex.

Knots: “Dexter turning the tide after getting his vision back. Technology be damned!”

Dexter lifts Brittany up, before hitting a knife edge chop. Dexter rears back before charging forward, connecting with a running clothesline. Brittany hits the mat. Dexter turns and begins stomping Brittany, starting at her legs, then her back, before her arms and wrists. The crowd boos as Brittany is shown rolling around on the mat, clutching her right wrist in pain.

Sharper: “Dexter showing that rather vicious side we’ve seen time and time again.”

Brittany is shown rolling to the ropes and slowly pulling herself up, while Dexter stalks his opponent. Brittany turns around and Dexter connects with a kick to the side of the head.

Knots: “CLICK! BAIT!”

Kayl: “And the Princess is out cold.”

Dexter reaches down, pulling Brittany up once again.

Sharper: “That’s enough. He has the match won. Now he’s adding insult to injury!”

Dexter smirks at the crowd, who boos loudly, before hooking Brittany and planting her with an impaler DDT. Dexter then hooks the leg.

1!

2!

3!

The crowd boos as the ref calls for the bell. “TokSik” blares through the arena as Wendell rolls into the ring and lifts Dexter’s hand in victory.

Sharper: “Dexter sealing the deal with the Detox Drop. Another win for the Digital Detoxer, gaining that momentum we mentioned before the bell rang.”

Dexter and Wendell can be shown parading around the ring, with the crowd continuing to boo. We see Brittany slowly stirring on the mat with the referee checking on her. One more shot of Dexter and Wendell before we cut to the back.

CHBK is talking to Lucas Knight when Polly Playtime storms into the arena and moves right up to CHBK and shoves him back. Lucas quickly steps forward and obstructs Polly.

Polly: “Think that’s funny? Now you’re sending people after me because you can’t handle that I’m not going to pinned down!”

CHBK: “Polly-“

Polly: “You know what. Try it again, Alex. Try it again and I’ll show you exactly why you don’t mess with me.”

CHBK: “I’m doing none of the sort!”

Polly: “Bullshit, Alex! Bullshit!”

Knight: “Come on! Get!”

Knight pushes her back as CHBK watches Polly as she is forced back off camera by Lucas Knight.

COMMERCIALS

Breakdown returns as we see Destiny Page standing with Chris Lawler.

Page: “Welcome back to Breakdown. I’m Destiny Page here with Chris Lawler. Chris, you had a hard fought match against Simon Lyman, but it didn’t turn out as you hoped. It-“

Lawler stops and he turns and looks off camera. We then see Dean Black walking up to him.

Lawler: “What do you want?”

Black: “Someone wants to talk to you.”

Lawler looks back to Destiny Page and then back to Dean Black.

Lawler: “With pleasure.”

Lawler then turns and follows Black as the scene cuts away.

The Phantom Troupe vs. Hollywood

Phillips: “The following tag team contest is scheduled for one fall!”

A rush of paparazzi rush down either side of the ramp as a red carpet is rolled out. The sounds of Michael Jackson’s “Hollywood Tonight” begins to play as Chris and Ryan Hollywood come out from the back, prompting a shamelessly stolen trope of flashes from the cameras as they stand atop the ramp.

Phillips: “Introducing first, from Hollywood, California, they are Chris and Ryan... Hollywood!”

They respond to pose instructions from the photographers as they move towards the ring. Once in the ring, they pose in the middle of the ring, back to back, as their music fades.

Sharper: “It doesn't feel like just that long ago when the Hollywood brothers technically defeated Selena Frost and Xander Valentine by disqualification and just narrowly missed out on becoming World Tag Team Champions as a result.”

Kayl: “They surprised a lot of people on that night, but things haven't quite gone their way since. The Glimmers beat them en route to reclaiming the tag team gold, The Vision beat them en route to challenging for the gold at Hubris, and now tonight they're going to find themselves being the first official opponents for two men who, given the circles they run in, you just know aren't fans of theirs.”

The lights in the arena suddenly go out when the classic Shaw Brothers logo and music suddenly appear in the middle of the video wall. The moment that the opening logo ends the screen then shifts to the opening of White Zombie's “Thunderkiss 65” video with shots of David Striker, Gabriel Marik, and Kevin Slayton wrestling where the shots of the band playing usually is as hundreds of fans turn on their cell phone lights as like they are holding hundreds of little candles in the darkness.

“Well, sweet little sister's high in hell cheating on a halo
Grind in a odyssey holocaust heart kick on tomorrow
Breakdown-agony I said 'ecstasy' in overdrive
Well riding on the the world, thunder kissing

1965 yeah
Five yeah
Demon-warp is coming alive
In 1965, five, five”

Suddenly the lights then come back on full as all three members of the Phantom Troupe come out onto the entrance way with the “Revernant” Gabriel Marik on the left and Kevin Slayton on the right with the “Dark Horse” himself, David Striker, in the center with a dark little smile crossing his face as Marik looms in the background and Slayton hypes up the crowds before Striker motions for them to advance at which point the trio heads towards the ring.

Phillips: “And their opponents, being accompanied to the ring by the 'Frontman of the Phantom Troupe' himself, David Striker!”

Kevin storms down to the ring with a definite need to wreck some havoc etched on his face while David follows close behind, looking more than ready to cover his younger friend's back in case anything happens while Gabriel brings up the rear, his attention focused solely on the matter at hand. Once the trio hits the ringside area, Kevin circles the ring and gives some of the fans a fist bump while David walks up the steps and wipes off his feet before stepping into the ring, followed close at hand by Gabe.

“Livin’ fast and dying young like a endless poetry
My motor-psycho nightmare freak out inside of me
My soul salvation liberation on the drive
The power of the blaster move me faster

1965 yeah
Five yea
Demon-warp is coming alive
In 1965, five, five”

Phillips: “Introducing first, hailing from Nottingham, London, England, he is the 'Enforcer' of the Phantom Troupe, 'The Revenant' Gabriel Marik! And his tag team partner, hailing from Brooksville Florida, he is the 'Bad Boy' Kevin Slayton! Together they are... the Phantom Troupe!”

At this point, Kevin quickly slides under the bottom ropes and joins his two brothers in the middle of the ring, the trio staring down Hollywood while referee Steve Hollinsworth stands between the two teams to make sure this doesn't start before he signals for the bell.

Sharper: “While they came into SCW within the past few months to back up David Striker and the returning Chris Dumont, this is the first official SCW match that Gabriel Marik and Kevin Slayton will be wrestling.”

Knots: “If you ask me, Mr. Delatosso should have fired them before they even got the opportunity for an in-ring debut! There was no call for any of these guys to get involved in the World Title match at Hubris!”

Kayl: “I'd argue they were evening the odds considering Gavin had the European Fiery Nation and his personal security team trying to help him steal the match for himself, but I feel what we're about to witness has less to do with the Troupe's desire for revenge against them and more to do with wanting to make their mark immediately in the tag team picture.”

David Striker climbs out of the ring and stands at ringside as both teams converse for a moment about who’s going to start, with Ryan deciding to start for Hollywood while Slayton gets the nod for the Troupe. Hollinsworth signals for the bell and the two men approach one another, with Ryan grinning and patting the top of his head before motioning at the four inch height difference between him and Slayton. Slayton pretends to laugh for a moment before he starts lighting up Ryan with a combo of punches that would make a professional boxer jealous! Ryan is backed against the ropes, where Slayton rips a huge backhand chop across his chest that echoes throughout the arena and gets some of the fans to cry out “OOOHHH!” at the sound of the impact! Chris runs over, trying to beg Slayton off of his partner before motioning for Hollinsworth to do something since Ryan’s in the ropes, but Slayton just boots him off the apron! He irish whips Ryan across the ring before catching him on the rebound with a calf kick! Slayton gets up and roars to the delight of the fans as Ryan crawls towards his corner, only to find that Chris is still recovering on the floor from the boot he ate.

Sharper: “Kevin Slayton with a strong start and he’s got both Hollywood boys reeling!”

Knots: “So how exactly is he related to Dante Slayton and why should I care?”

Kayl: “Pretty sure they’re brothers according to what I’ve seen, and I mean by blood, not the kind of brothers Hollywood claim to be.”

Ryan pulls himself up in his team’s corner, calling for Chris to get back on the apron so he can tag out. Unfortunately, he turns just in time to eat a spinning heel kick in the corner from Slayton! Chris pulls himself back up onto the apron, but by the time he does, Slayton has already whipped Ryan across the ring into the Troupe’s corner and follows him in with a running corner european uppercut! Gabriel Marik tags himself in before pulling Ryan out of the corner and into a sidewalk slam position as Slayton hops up onto the second turnbuckle. He leaps off as the Phantom Troupe connect with a sidewalk slam/diving leg drop combination! Marik hooks the leg for the cover as Slayton gets up and motions for Chris to come and try to break up the pin.

1!

2!

Ryan gets a shoulder up! Chris does step into the ring and tries to break up the count, but Slayton blasts him with a discus elbow smash for his troubles!

Sharper: “The Phantom Troupe dominating Hollywood here in the early-going as Gabriel Marik now tags in.”

Kayl: “He’s been dubbed the enforcer of the group-”

Knots: “And he should be enforcing his partner to follow the rules!”

Slayton steps back out onto the apron as Chris rolls out to the apron to recover. Ryan rolls over onto his chest on the mat, but this just gives Marik the opening to grab his legs and take him over with a wheelbarrow german suplex! Marik sticks the bridge for another pin.

1!

2!

Ryan gets a shoulder up again! Marik is undeterred, however, as he grabs Ryan’s leg and applies a stepover inverted heel hook! Ryan cries out in pain as he frantically reaches out for the ropes, but he’s nowhere close! Chris pulls himself up on the apron and sees what’s happening, leading to him stepping through the ropes as he dives and attacks Marik to break up the submission! Marik pulls himself to his feet as Chris measures him, ignoring Hollinsworth’s demands for him to leave the ring. Chris runs off the ropes and ends up running right into the Seventh Sin from Marik!

Sharper: “Chris managing to save the match for Hollywood, but he just ate that huge boot for his troubles!”

Kayl: “With the way the Troupe have been dominating this match, there might not be anything left of Hollywood to take to the back!”

Marik shakes his head at the downed Chris before he turns his attention back to Ryan, grabbing him in a wheelbarrow position again as Slayton reaches and tags himself in. He starts to step through the ropes before throwing himself into a cutter that leads to him and Marik delivering the Black Ice! Not feeling satisfied, the two of them grab Ryan and lift him off the mat before planting him with what they call the Ballbreaker! Slayton rolls Ryan over and goes for the cover while Marik starts to move back to the Troupe’s corner.

Chris dives and manages to break up the count before he rolls out of the ring before Marik can get his hands on him! Hollinsworth warns Marik as he reluctantly returns to his team’s corner, staring a hole straight through Chris as he climbs back onto the apron.

Sharper: “Chris saving the match yet again, but Hollywood needs something to change right now if they’re going to have any hope of getting back into this match!”

Knots: “See? All these guys do is bully people, like how they bullied Gavin out of his World Title! We don’t need this in SCW!”

Slayton shakes his head, getting annoyed that Chris refuses to let them just get the win already. He reaches over and tags Marik back in, letting Marik pull Ryan back to his feet. Marik lifts Ryan up for a suplex as Slayton positions himself, the duo perhaps looking for the Bohemian Rhapsody, but Chris steps into the ring again! He immediately ducks out as Slayton turns his attention away from the potential double-team opportunity to try and catch him, but the distraction allows Ryan to kick his legs and shift his weight to get his feet back on the mat before he takes Marik over with a suplex! Slayton turns, realizing what’s happened, and tries to catch Ryan with a big boot as Ryan tries to run past him, but Ryan slides underneath before diving and barely managing to tag in Chris! Chris immediately leaps to the top rope before diving off and catching Slayton with a huge flying forearm!

Sharper: “Chris’s persistence paid off and now Hollywood finally have something going for them!”

Kayl: “It’s a start, but Chris is significantly fresher than Ryan is right now and he’s got a ton of momentum to make something of it!”

Chris stomps away at Slayton before he sees Marik slowly pulling himself to his feet and runs over, catching him in the side of the head with a basement dropkick! Marik rolls out onto the apron before Chris runs towards the ropes and springboards off the middle rope into an impressive imploding senton bomb across Slayton’s chest! Chris goes for the cover, but Hollinsworth waves it off as Marik is the legal man, not Slayton. Chris starts to argue with the referee about this as Slayton rolls out onto the apron, but he seems to eventually get it as he motions for Ryan to join him in the ring. Chris sizes up Marik, who has re-entered the ring in his team’s corner, and runs at him, taking him over with a monkey flip! Chris keeps Marik’s hands held as Ryan takes a moment to position himself before he tries to complete the Parallel Play, but Slayton suddenly slingshots himself into the ring and wipes out Ryan with the Star Platinum! Chris looks up and realizes what happened before he tries to roll himself back into a cover on Marik, but Marik gets his boots up into Chris’s midsection and pushes him up, using the momentum to pop back to his feet before he pops Chris up into the Black Coffin!

Sharper: “Well, Hollywood had a moment where they might have made something happen, but the Phantom Troupe emphatically shutting that down!”

Slayton kicks Ryan out of the ring as Marik grabs Chris in a bearhug before stretching him out. Slayton climbs up onto the top turnbuckle as Striker calls out to them from ringside, grinning and giving a thumbs up that slowly turns into a thumbs down. The fans buzz as Slayton leaps and the Troupe connect with the Disasterpiece! Marik stacks Chris up for the pin as Slayton patrols the ropes in case Ryan’s able to try and break the pin up.

Hollinsworth calls for the bell as White Zombie's “Thunderkiss 65” hits the speakers again. Marik and Slayton grab Chris before throwing him through the ropes to join Ryan in a heap out on the floor in front of the announce desk as Hollinsworth raises both of their hands in victory.

Phillips: “Here are your winners… the Phantom Troupe!”

Sharper: “A dominant official in-ring debut for Marik and Slayton, and I would say that the entire tag team division has just been put on notice!”

Knots: “Like the champions care!”

Kayl: “The Glimmers might want to take note, Jon, because I highly doubt these two will settle for anything less than taking the gold away from them.”

David Striker climbs into the ring and replaces Hollinsworth in raising Marik and Slayton’s arms in victory, leaving the referee to climb out of the ring to check on Hollywood. Slayton moves to lean through the ropes, getting right into the camera.

Slayton: “Pay attention, you stupid strippers! Because this? This is going to be you soon enough!”

Slayton pulls back as Marik slaps him on the chest, nodding in agreement with him as the Phantom Troupe all climb out of the ring and start making their way to the back, the fans cheering for them in their victory.

Backstage, we see Dillusion talking to Deanna Frost in her locker room.

Deanna: “Seriously?”

Deanna shakes her head.

Dillusion: “She’s not here. She’s not checked in. We realize that you’re not-“

Deanna: “No…uh…thanks. Just…I’ll try to call her.”

Deanna turns and heads over to her bags and grabs her phone. She then looks into it and starts to call. We then see Kimberly Williams showing up. She looks at Dillusion before looking at Deanna.

Deanna: “No answer…of course…”

Deanna turns as Kim walks over to her.

Kim: “Hey Dee Dee! What’s up! Canceling your Paramount! Just remember, if they give you problems, tell them you have a maniac with a Penguin ready to fight for you.”

Deanna: “It’s not that…it’s-“

Kim: “Seriously? Selena? Screw her. She screwed you over. You deserve better. Do you need me to maim her?”

Deanna: “Kim…this is…she’s done some things but…”

Kim: “Deanna…”

Deanna: “Look, I need to deal with this. There’s more going on here than you realize.”

Kim: “She’s mani-“

Deanna: “Kim…if you’re my friend as you say you are, you need to trust me here. I need to deal with this. She’s still the mother of my kids.”

Deanna turns and heads out of the room as Kim watches her leave, almost a bit disappointed as the scene cuts away.

COMMERCIALS

We see the EFN leaving the meeting area where Frank Delatosso has established himself. We then see Dean Black walking over and pointing. Chris Lawler steps forward and over to Delatosso.

Delatosso: “Mr. Lawler, great to meet you.”

Lawler: “Likewise.”

The two shake hands.

Lawler: “What can I do you for?”

Delatosso: “You have a big match tonight.”

Lawler: “I do.”

Delatosso: “Against someone who’s been here as long as you have. Granted you had that break. Had some issues, family issues, money issues…”

Lawler: “They’ve been dealt with.”

Delatosso: “Good….but isn’t it time you start getting more of what you’re owed from this sport?”

Lawler says nothing.

Delatosso: “You’re a veteran. You still have people who think they’re good refusing to give you the respect owed. Just like so many. Even CHBK…you’ve known him for how long? Does he care about you? I’m looking for fresh matches, fresh faces…but also to ensure we have a roster of people doing the right thing. You’ve always been an honourable one, right.”

Lawler: “I’d like to think so.”

Delatosso: “So then…how about things change for you? How does that sound?”

Lawler: “I’d like that.”

Delatosso: “Then prove it tonight. Do it…and things will change.”

Lawler nods.

Lawler: “Done.”

Lawler turns and walks off. Delatosso smiles.

Sharper: “Delatosso supporting Lawler…is he going after Xander now?”

The lights in the arena plunge into darkness. A pulsing sound akin to a heartbeat plays out across the PA system as the fans cheer.

LEXY CHAPEL PRESENTS

The heartbeat gets faster before “Groupie” by Cassie Steele hits the PA system. After a few moments Syren comes through the curtain, accompanied by Lexy Chapel. Syren pauses on the stage, looking out at the fans cheering.

Sharper: “There you see Syren. She came up short to becoming World Champion at Hubris. But it was a chaotic match as we’ve said.”

Kayl: “To put it mildly and Syren nearly won at a few moments. As we mentioned, four competitors all trying to do whatever they could to walk out champion. Amelia Nevado has that honour.”

Sinfully Seductive
Captivatingly Corrupt
DARK FANTASY

Syren walks down the ramp. She jumps up onto the apron before climbing the turnbuckles on the outside and waving her hands to get the fans fired up. As the camera gets closer to her, she shouts at the camera before pointing out at the fans. Syren smiles before leaping over the top rope. She steps forward and looks around. She then goes to the corner and asks for a microphone. She’s handed one by Jason Phillips. Syren takes it and walks back to the middle of the ring. She then looks around as her music fades out. The crowd cheers as it does and Syren just nods and brings the microphone to her mouth.

Syren: “As they say close only counts in horseshoes…and as CHBK would say…in hand grenades as well.”

Syren walks around a bit.

Syren: “I had hoped that I could get back the title that Gavin Taylor took from me at Retribution. And despite an army of individuals involved in that World Title match…I came close…but that doesn’t count. But at least Gavin Taylor isn’t the World Champion anymore!”

The crowd roars.

Syren: “I’ll admit I wish I had driven him through that table at Hubris. But I’ll take living vicariously through Chris Dumont and Chris…do it again next week!”

The crowd roars. Syren looks around.

Syren: “And before I continue, there is one other person I need to talk to…and that’s Amelia Nevado.”

The crowd gives a mixed reaction.

Syren: “Amelia…congratulations. I mean it. I may not agree with who you’ve aligned with. I may worry about the decisions you’ve made to get here, but at Hubris, you competed and you EARNED the right to be World Champion. But take it from me…make sure you’re still able to look at yourself in the mirror when this is all done!”

The crowd roars a bit.

Kayl: “Good advice.”

Knots: “She’d know. Probably why she avoids most of them. But Amelia has nothing to be ashamed of.”

Syren looks around.

Syren: “But I stand here, Amelia…not in your line of sight. Gavin can have his rematch and I hope you beat him. But my rematch…it’s done. And so, there’s only one option. One option if I plan to hold that title against sooner rather than later and we all know what that is…a match I’ve gotten far too close far too many times and it’s time to win the one match that’s eluded me for far too long…and by that I mean the Taking Hold of the Flame battle royal!”

The crowd roars.

Syren: “I’ve gotten right to the very end. And I know some people have already started to make their claims. I heard Simon Lyman made his claim on sports radio in New Orleans. I hear the people murmuring backstage. Some people knowing this is their chance to break through. To get back. I know Selena Frost wherever she is…she’s now got her eyes on it. And I know there are some people from SCW’s past that may finally see this as their opportunity. At least we don’t need to worry about Shaun Cruze returning and shocking us all. I saw you backstage earlier tonight!”

The crowd cheers. Syren shrugs.

Syren: “And I’m going to be ready for them all!”

Syren looks around.

Syren: “I started this year reclaiming the World Championship. I’ve done it once. I know I can do it again. And it goes through thirty-nine others. And SCW…sorry…but it’s time for you to be totally jealous once again! Whoever is World Champion…I will see you at Rise to Greatness XXIII!”

“Groupie” plays again as the crowd roars. Syren brings the microphone down to her side. She then looks around as she tosses the microphone back to Jason Phillips. Syren then turns and moves to the corner and steps up to the middle rope. She plays to the crowd a bit.

Sharper: “Syren has to be one of the favourites when we see forty competitors enter the Taking Hold of the Flame.”

Knots: “Yeah. She may be. But never gotten it done. She’s gotten to number two. Never number one.”

Sharper: “Could this be the year? Could this be Syren’s year. Back in the main event of Rise to Greatness.”

We cut backstage.

Sharper: “Now let’s go backstage where Destiny Page is with Shaun Cruze.”

Backstage, Destiny Page stands with Shaun Cruze outside of his locker room.

Page: “Thank you Adam. Shaun, you just heard Syren’s words. I’m sure you have something to say about them. I also wanted to ask you about the end of your match against Polly Playtime. A mysterious person running out to the ring.”

Cruze: “Firstly, I had nothing to do with that. I’m not looking to pull fast ones on anyone. I’m just looking to complete. It’s one reason I told Delatosso to can his security. I don’t need it. And they were getting involved and-“

Polly: “How convenient!”

Polly then storms into the scene.

Polly: “A convenient story when we’ve seen you take easy ways out before. Then again, you probably just wanted to make sure you didn’t fall to me. How bad it would be for the mighty Shaun Cruze to have Polly Playtime beat her. You still couldn’t do it without help-“

Cruze: “Polly! I had nothing to do with it. But you want to dance again, I’m not going to hard to find. Whether it’s tonight, next week, or at Taking Hold of the Flame. I’m going to be in the field. You want to stop me, be my guest. But I’m not going to listen to your narrative when I had nothing to do with it. Someone wants to bring you down bad-“

Polly: “Yeah, I have a few ideas.”

Cruze: “Look, Polly…have an issue with me, we settle it in the ring. But if you’re just going to yell at me for something I had nothing to do with…you can do that alone.”

Shaun turns and walks off.

Polly: “Yeah, run Shaun. Just run-“

Suddenly, we see the masked person run up behind Polly and knock them down from behind. Polly turns and looks up as the masked person hops around a bit before running off, revealing them to be quite thin, completely covered in a black body suit, and luchadore mask, and seemingly revealing a petite frame.

Sharper: “Again! The masked person strikes again!”

Knots: “Is that a masked…that’s a masked woman, right? That looks like a woman’s figure!”

Polly gets up as the masked person bolts. Polly takes a few steps and then seethes before backing up.

Polly: “Try that against me next week. Not going to happen! Delatosso better come through…”

Polly backs up and turns and storms off as the scene cuts away.

COMMERCIALS

Backstage, we open up with a shot of Jessica Winters in the SCW interview area.

Winters: “Welcome back to Breakdown here, live from Seattle, Washington. I’m Jessica Winters and fans, at Hubris, we expected to see the SCW United States Championship defended. Open challenge by Meghan Strader. But we then found out that Strader was prevented from arriving in Australia. Allow me at this time to now welcome, the SCW United States Champion…Meghan Strader. Please come on in here.”

Meghna Strader comes into the scene, SCW United States Championship over her shoulder. Along with her are Tearra Skye and Mackenzie Strader, presumably for added protection.

Winters: “Meghan…we did attempt to gain access to footage of the event as it took place in LAX as you tried to leave to fly to Australia, but we’ve been blocked from showing the footage.”

Meghan: “Sounds like a few people are a bit ruffled given our outspoken we’ve been about some of the policy decisions of those in charge and I’m not talking about Delatosso. But the Cowgirls from Hell are more than just a wrestling group. We stand for what’s right and while people like Delatosso can call us thugs, we’re just trying to better the community and fighting for justice. Guess some people have a problem with that.”

Meghan pauses for a moment.

Meghan: “And trust me when I say this, the world doesn’t need me not only pissed off, not only motivated, but on edge. If I’m going to have a real group of thugs come at me and get in the way of my dream…when I stand here, holding singles gold, a proud champion and one that has the goal to hold this title not just to Rise to Greatness but through it….when I’ve already gotten a few others who doesn’t seem to like me because I’m not prim and proper…”

Meghan shakes her head.

Meghan: “Don’t get me started on Amelia. Even though you deserve it…was this it? What is Luz thinking, huh?”

Meghan sighs.

Meghan: “Well events like what happened a couple of weeks ago…that gets in my way of my personal goals and I don’t care for that. Remember what I say, time and time again…God forgives but I don’t. And I won’t be forgiving. But next week, we’re going to do a do over. Goon squads…stay out of my way. Let me do my job. It’s in everyone’s best interests. And next week, I hear that the fans get to choose who faces me for this title.”

Meghan nods.

Meghan: “Whoever wins the vote…be ready. I need to blow off some steam!”

Winters: “Thank you Meghan. And yes, next week, Fan’s Choice. Meghan Strader to defend the US Championship.”

Meghan starts to walk off before stopping as we see Syren off camera. Meghan walks over to her.

Syren: “You okay?”

Meghan nods.

Meghan: “Nothing we can’t handle there. You okay?”

Syren: “I’ll get back there. Just a matter of how many landmines in the way.”

Meghan: “Well…I’m ready for them. You?”

Syren: “You know where to call.”

Syren and Meghan share a fist pump before the Cowgirls walk part Syren. Syren nods watching them leave as the scene cuts away.

Deanna Frost vs. Oskar Theron

“Ride The Lightning” by Metallica plays over the sound system as Oskar walks through the curtain, holding up his Norwegian flag, wearing Norway flame lightning bolt flag trousers with The European Fiery Nation logo attached to his trousers, wearing MMA gloves and wrestling boots with Ginny Raab behind him. He gets many boos as he walks to the ring, ignoring the fans. He stands on the ramp, using the lightning bolt signals.

Phillips: “The following contest is scheduled for onefall with a twenty minute time limit. First, representing the European Fiery Nation, from Oslo, Norway, accompanied by Ginny Raab, he is Oskar Theron!”

He walks to the ring before sliding under the ropes before holding them open for Ginny to get in, and he goes on the turnbuckle to do his lightning bolt sign, with Ginny applauding Oskar before he puts himself in a corner. He holds the ropes open again for Ginny to leave the ring before turning to the opposite end of the corner of looking at the entrance, waiting for the match to begin.

Sharper: “Oskar Theron out here to respond after on the last Breakdown, Kemal Yilmaz and Deanna Frost didn’t have a match. Kemal jumped Deanna.”

Knots: “Is Deanna even going to come out? She left earlier.”

Sharper: “Deanna clearly is trying to deal with the reality with Selena Frost. Selena Frost not here.”

Kayl: “Look, I don’t get why. She owes Selena nothing. Selena has given Deanna nothing except heartache and betrayal.”

Sharper: “Well, Deanna and Selena had been through a lot. And I can’t imagine trying to put myself in Deanna’s shoes.”

Knots: “Don’t worry. I’m sure Selena took those too!”

A pause hangs in the air as Oskar remains in the corner. He starts to motions his hands in a “come get it” style as the camera cuts to him. The pause continues as Jason Phillips walks over to the ropes for some instruction from the timekeeper. The timekeeper has his hand up.

Sharper: “We’re trying to figure out what is going on. The timekeeper getting some instructions to pass along to Jason Phillips.”

Knots: “Aren’t you supposed to get them?”

Sharper: “I’m getting nothing right now. I’m as much in the dark.”

Knots: “Good of you to finally admit it after all of these years.”

We then cut to see Kimberly Williams running through the crowd.

Sharper: “And wait a minute. I don’t think this is what was planned! Kimberly Williams through the crowd!”

Oskar Theron looks at Ginny as we see Kimberly Williams hop over the barricade and spin to the floor and then turns and slides into the ring. Kim gets up as Oskar runs forward and Kim takes Oskar down with a double-leg takedown. Kim nails Oskar with a couple of hard right hands before Oskar pushes her off. Kim rolls over and gets up as Oskar gets up and Kim hits a dropkick. Oskar hits the mat. He gets back up and Kim then runs over and dropkicks him again. He falls down and rolls to the floor.

Sharper: “Kim with two dropkicks. Oskar to the apron and now to the floor.”

Kayl: “Well is a match or?”

Knots: “Don’t get the answer from Sharper!”

Hollinsworth, the original planned official for the match, turns to Phillips on the floor. Phillips goes to the timekeeper as we cut to see Kim, who has exited on the side of the ring opposite to Oskar, is looking under the ring. She grabs a chair and throws it into the ring. She then grabs another one and throws it in before grabbing a table and pulling it out. The crowd erupts. She then unfolds one leg and then the other before placing it up next to the ring. Oskar grabs the Norwegian flag from Ginny. Kim rolls into the ring and then Oskar rolls in after. He gets up and swings at her head. Kim ducks and nails him with a Morrigan’s Wrath. The crowd ohs. Oskar goes down. Kim then turns and grabs one chair and throws it at Oskar. She turns and grabs the second chair and does the same at Oskar. Oskar grabs the first chair as Kim runs over to the second chair and Oskar then throws it at Kim. Kim staggers. She then turns around as Oskar gets up and swings, nailing Kim in the side. Kim falls over and down to the mat. She then rolls to the floor. Oskar winces and walks around the ring. He then runs over and goes to throw the chair down onto Kim. He does, but Kim’s not there. He looks around.

Sharper: “Kim now just turning this into a fight.”

Knots: “Someone stop this insanity!”

Kayl: “Kim clearly trying to help out Deanna while Deanna figure her personal life.”

Sharper: “And now Kim…she went on the ring.”

Ginny looks under the ring as Oskar drops down to the floor. He looks underneath as Kim then rolls out on the other side of the ring on the floor. She has in her hand, a staple gun! The crowd erupts. Kim however doesn’t turn to the ring as we see Dakon Theron and Ludvig Eriksson running down from the back. They run down and Kim looks at them and then rolls into the ring. She turns as Oskar rolls back in and grabs the Norwegian flag. Oskar however is a bit slow to get up and Kim kicks him in the ribs. She then places the flag over his head and staples it to his forehead. Oskar falls back, yelling in pain, the flag attached to his head.

Kayl: “It’s attached It’s attached!”

Sharper: “She just stapled the Norwegian flag to Oskar Theron’s head!”

Knots: “Yeah, but here comes the European Union!”

Kim then turns as Dakon and Ludvig enter the ring. Kim goes to nail Dakon with the gun, but Ludvig tackles her down. She covers up as Dakon turns and stomps on her. The crowd boos loudly as Ludvig Eriksson nails her over and over and over again with hard right hands. Oskar pulls the flag off his face with Ginny helping. Ginny winces as bit as Oskar then gets up as Kim crawls over to the corner. She tries to fight up to her feet and swings. She catches Eriksson with a shot before Dakon kicks her in the ribs and pulls her out before Oskar takes the Norwegian flag and hits a flagpole-assisted Norwegian leg sweep. Kim goes down. Oskar then turns and presses the flagpole across the throat of Kim. Kim kicks at the mat as he starts to try to choke her out.

Sharper: “Oskar got his shot in and now just choking Kimberly Williams! I don’t understand why nothing has been done yet. Is this a match? Is it not?”

Knots: “Maybe you just need to wait. Sometimes good things come to those who wait!”

Kim kicks at the mat as Oskar then pulls off and we then see Dawn Lohan storming down from the back. The crowd boos loudly as Oskar pulls off as Dakon and Ludvig start to stomp away on Kim. Kim tries to fight, swinging up and falling to the mat. Oskar then runs over and stomps her in the head. She then starts to get up and we then see Oskar take the flagpole. Dakon and Ludivg then grab her and hoist her up. Kim start to fight before Oskar turns and swings, nailing Kim in the head with the flagpole, causing it to break it two over her head. Kim falls to the mat, rolling over. Dawn then enters the ring. The three EFN members all turn to her. Oskar then motions to Kim as Dawn steps past and runs over and grabs Kim by the hair. Blood is coming from her head from the flagpole shot. Dawn smiles before then nailing her with a hard crossface punch and then another. She then drags Kim over to the corner.

Knots: “There you go! Your answer!”

Sharper: “This was a set up. Kimberly Williams is hurt and Dawn Lohan coming out to pick up the scraps!”

Dawn looks at her.

Dawn: “You needed her help…well…huh!”

Kim lunges and Dawn then clubs her in the back. She then pulls her through the ropes and onto the apron. Dawn looks at her and kicks her in the ribs. She pushes her down onto the table Kim set up. Dawn then looks around before jumping to the middle rope and turns and hits the Breaking Dawn through the table. The crowd ohs.

Sharper: “Breaking Dawn through the table!”

EFN stands at ringside, looking on, proud of their work. Dawn rolls out of the table and winces.

Kayl: “We didn’t think she’d let Hubris just stand.”

Knots: “Divide and conquer. So much easier when one side just doesn’t show up!”

Dawn gets up and looks at Kim as “The Emptiness Machine” plays throughout the arena. The crowd boos as Dawn smirks as Hollinsworth runs over to check on Kim. Dawn walks around the ringside area as the scene cuts away.

We open up backstage as we see Amelia Nevado walking into catering. She takes a deep breath as we see La Pequena Luz walk up behind her.

Luz: “Ames…

Amelia: “Lulu….”

Amelia turns.

Luz: “Still feels surreal but you’ve earned it.”

Amelia: “I know.”

Luz is a bit taken aback by the bluntness of Amelia’s reply.

Luz: “So you’re going to have a moment later.”

Amelia: “Something like that.”

Luz: “It will be my pleasure to stand with you.”

Amelia: “Uh…about that….”

Amelia looks down briefly.

Amelia: “Delatosso thinks it would be best if I came out alone. To just highlight I can stand on my own.”

Luz: “Oh…well….you did do it on your own.”

Amelia: “Yeah…thanks for understanding.”

Luz: “Yeah…I’ll….I’ll see you after then. Enjoy the moment. You’ve earned it.”

Luz smiles as Amelia just watches as Luz walks off and the scene cuts away.

COMMERCIALS

Breakdown returns as we see Destiny Page standing in the SCW interview area.

Destiny: “Welcome back to Breakdown. Destiny Page here and as we’ve been saying, next week will be a huge night. Fan’s Choice. You, the fans at home, can determine some of the stipulations and even who may be challenging for certain titles and-“

Just then, Destiny is interrupted by Gia and Gina Glimmer who walk into view, holding the SCW World Tag Team Championship.

Gia (we think): “Well Destiny…”

Destiny: “Uh…”

Gina (we think): “Given any thought to our potential challenge. You can see what kind of man Wendell really is.”

Destiny: “Gia, Gina…”

Gia: “Plus, we all know how banging that body is…could even lead to new opportunities here and elsewhere and-“

Destiny: “Sorry, I’m focused elsewhere-“

Gina: “That’s fine…it’s past 9, right?”

Destiny nods.

Gia: “Good….keep watching SCW. Because we still have plans to make a big impact tonight.”

Gina winks at Destiny before the Glimmers walk off. Breakdown returns to ringside.

Ryan LeCavalier vs. Colleen MacDonald

SCW Television Championship

The arena falls into a deep, anticipatory hush as the lights abruptly dim, plunging the crowd into darkness. The air is thick with anticipation, and suddenly, the ominous beats of "Praise" by Zhu, Banks, and Bludnymph pulse through the speakers, filling the arena with an eerie energy. The voice of BANKS echoes through the space, setting a haunting tone:

"I built me up high, a building so high, you know. Up where the birds fly, it was a long time ago."

The tension is palpable as a single spotlight slices through the darkness, casting an intense beam onto the entrance ramp. The crowd holds its breath as the silhouette of her figure begins to emerge, shrouded in an aura of menace and mystery. Dressed in a breathtaking ensemble of black and gold, her outfit shimmers with an almost ethereal glow, reflecting her dominance and superiority.

As she steps into the light, the chorus surges, magnifying her grand entrance and asserting her control:

"I got the view from the stars, baby, stars, baby. You look up at me like a god, baby, god, baby."

With a deliberate, measured pace, she strides down the ramp, each step resounding with authority and command. Her hair cascades behind her, catching the light and adding a dramatic flair to her entrance. Her gaze is sharp and unyielding, scanning the crowd with a mix of disdain and amusement, daring them to challenge her.

Suddenly, pyrotechnics explode around her, their bursts of light and smoke accentuating her every movement. The strobe-like flashes create a stark contrast between light and shadow, emphasizing her formidable presence. The chorus of "Praise" swells dramatically, enveloping the arena in a pulsating rhythm:

"This is how I got name, this is how I got my fame. You and me are not the same, this is why you give me praise."

As she nears the ring, she pauses, her eyes locking onto the spectators at ringside. She smirks, exuding an aura of disdain and arrogance, relishing in their fear and respect. With a contemptuous glance, she continues her march toward the ring, her every move a testament to her dominance and control.

Phillips: “The following contest is scheduled for onefall with a fifteen minute time limit and is for the SCW Television Championship! First, the challenger, from Los Angeles, California, she is the Lost Monarch, Ryan LeCavalier!”

Ascending the ring steps with an almost ritualistic grace, she pauses at the top, surveying the arena with a look of disdainful triumph. With a flourish, she steps through the ropes, her entrance complete. Raising her arms in a gesture of defiance and power, she locks eyes with her opponent, the tension between them electric.

The music crescendos to a thunderous climax, and the crowd erupts into a cacophony of boos and jeers, their voices a testament to her impact and infamy. She stands ready in the center of the ring, her presence alone a declaration of her readiness for the fight ahead.

As the final notes of "Praise" fade into the night, the echoes of the chorus linger in the air, a haunting reminder of her dominance and control:

"Give me (Praise), Give me (Praise)."

And with that, the stage is set, the battle lines drawn, and the arena braces itself for the match that's about to take place.

Sharper: “Ryan LeCavalier looking to regain a title she’s held before. But her attention has been elsewhere. She was busy in Australia in Hubris.”

Knots: “Getting involved in matters that shouldn’t involve her!”

Kayl: “But they did. She attacked Xander Valentine. Helping Selena Frost at Hubris. Clearly she still sees Selena Frost as her ticket to getting where she wants to be! Speaking off…wasn’t that a rabbit-“

Knots: “Where!”

A coin can be heard dropping into a coin slot, followed by a few girls giggling.  But before “C’est La Vie” by B*Witched can even begin, Colleen steps out onto the stage from the backstage area, wearing her normal all-black ring gear wearing the SCW Television Championship around her waist. Colleen does a cutthroat signal. The music turns off as she stands still and waits until the beginning of “How Far I’ll Go” by Auli’i Cravalho begins to play.  Colleen nods once before beginning to slowly head down the entrance ramp.

Phillips: “Her opponent, from Orderville, Utah, she is the SCW Television Champion, Colleen MacDonald!”

The crowd does keep their eyes on her as she looks straight down at the ring.  She keeps going until she arrives down at the ring.  Not quickening her pace, she steps up the steel ring steps and climbs over the top rope to get into the ring.  Once inside she does look around the arena.  She simply approves of her surroundings before she turns to the business at hand, heading off the title, warming up before the bell rings. The official, Jennifer Cassidy raises the title over her head. She then hands it off as the SCW Television Championship logo comes across the screen.

Sharper: “Colleen MacDonald all business here and she has quietly put together another impressive title reign. She’s held the SCW Television Championship since January 15.”

Knots: “See. She made a choice. She elected to focus on herself. She minds her business and she comes in and fights.”

Kayl: “And fate smiled upon her too.”

Sharper: “I see what you did there.”

The bell sounds. Colleen and Ryan watch one another and circle the ring. They then step forward and lock up in the middle of the ring with a collar and elbow tie-up. They push back on one another and Ryan turns into a side headlock. She smirks as Colleen pulls her back into the ropes. She fires Ryan off and Ryan hits the ropes only for Colleen to shoulder her down. Ryan looks up and Colleen dives onto Ryan and into a side mount and nails Ryan with a series of hard right hands. Ryan covers up and manages to push away and rolls to the floor. She then backs up to the barricade, holding her jaw as Colleen gets up. Colleen motions for her to enter the ring. Ryan then walks along the ringside area. (1) She then goes over to the steel steps and walks up them. (2) She looks at Colleen and then steps into the ring

Sharper: “Early on, Colleen with the advantage.”

Knots: “Not going to trade holds with LeCavalier. I don’t blame her.”

LeCavalier then runs at Colleen and goes for the legs. Colleen sweeps her legs back and Ryan slides through. Ryan gets up and Colleen grabs her and clubs her in the back. She clubs her again and again before then grabbing Ryan and running her into the nearby corner. Ryan turns as Colleen shoulders her in the ribs. She rears back and shoulder her again and then again and again. Colleen steps back and whips Ryan across the ring, Ryan hits the opposite corner. Colleen walks across and pulls Ryan out and just muscles up her and scoop slams her down. She goes for the pin.

LeCavalier goes for the pin.

Colleen gets her shoulder up. LeCavalier turns and moves into a buffalo sleeper hold. She pulls up on the head and arm. Colleen grimaces in pain as Cassidy checks on her. Colleen emphatically says she’s not giving up as LeCavalier keeps the hold locked in. Colleen looks around and starts to fight, slowly moving to her side. LeCavalier holds on and Colleen gets her knees under her. LeCavalier tries to pull her back, but Colleen resists and then nails LeCavalier in the ribs with a shot and then another before stepping up and managing to take LeCavalier over with a throw. LeCavalier rolls through and gets up and runs at Colleen who kicks her in the ribs. She bends her over and hits a powerbomb into a stack-up.

Kayl: “Managed to get to Colleen’s head to guide her a bit too.”

Colleen rolls over and winces and she moves to the ring as LeCavalier jumps up and hits a dropkick through the ropes, knocking Colleen back. (2) LeCavalier rolls to the floor and grabs Colleen and rolls her into the ring. LeCavalier climbs up onto the apron. Colleen stirs and LeCavalier dives off with a crossbody.

Sharper: “And LeCavalier now sent to the floor. She found herself in a bad place.”

Knots: “And Colleen may have loosened a few teeth with that shot too.”

Ryan LeCavalier starts to get up and the crowd roars.(2) LeCavalier gets up and turns as we see Xander Valentine standing on the stage. LeCavalier looks at him as Xander folds his arms and looks at her.(3)

Sharper: “And we have a guest. And trust me, it’s not who LeCavalier wanted!”

Knots: “Focus on the match. The title. Worry about him later!”

Kayl: “You try to do that. After what she did at Hubris!”

Colleen then rolls to the floor and runs around the ring. (1) She then grabs Ryan from behind and spins her around and rolls her into the ring. Colleen then rolls in after and Ryan turns and goes for a clothesline. Colleen ducks and Ryan stops at the corner, but Colleen turns and hits a running backsplash into Ryan. Ryan staggers out and Colleen drags her over to the middle of the ring, throwing her down before hitting the Collapser. She hooks the leg.

The bell sounds. Colleen rolls off.

Phillips: “Here is your winner, and STILL SCW Television Champion, Colleen MacDonald!”

Sharper: “Colleen wins and retains!”

Xander looks at the ring before turning and heading to the back.

Sharper: “And Xander making his presence felt.”

Kayl: “That’s all on Ryan. Eyes off the prize. Colleen isn’t second to anyone and she quickly reset LeCavalier before making her regret that decision.”

Colleen MacDonald gets up and is handed the SCW Television Championship. Colleen holds it over her head as she looks around. LeCavalier rolls over in pain as Colleen MacDonald’s music plays throughout the arena.

We return backstage to see Frank Delatosso shaking hands with Kemal Yilmaz as the EFN stands with him. Dawn Lohan is smiling too.

Delatosso: “Well done. That was great. That was exactly what I hoped. And now we have some leverage.”

Dawn: “That felt good too.”

Delatosso: “And Kemal…you should feel good too. We’re putting the stipulation on the poll. Ultimate submission. Let’s see if we can get the fans to give you what you want. That match with Glory, next week. You deserve it.”

Kemal nods. Ginny then speaks up.

Ginny: “And if they don’t vote for it.”

Delatosso: “Then we know the work we need to do to tell the fans what they want to see.”

Kemal nods as Dawn does too as the scene fades out.

Breakdown returns as we see Destiny Page talking to Wendell backstage who is pacing.

Wendell: “They’re going to do it. They’re going to make me wrestle. I’m going to….I’m going to have to be out there in…oh God…just like KABLAMia. I….please note I don’t find them attractive. Just you. Just….I’m going to…”

Destiny: “Shhh…shhh…Wendell. Relax. That’s the furthest thing from my mind. We’re not wrestlers.”

Wendell: “You….you may get hurt.”

Destiny: “You may get hurt.”

Wendell looks around.

Destiny: “They see me as some project. Probably because we both have a link to KABLAMia.”

Wendell: “You know you’re better than that. Being more than a prop.”

Destiny: “I am more than a prop. Wendell…they treat me well and with respect. The Glimmers…they’re….having fun-“

???: “That needs to stop.”

We then see Dexter Grant walking over to them.

Grant: “They’re just looking to get some pathetic attention on them. All they are. They have the ability, but they’d rather get cheap TMZ and social media buzz. All for what…probably to fill whatever voids they have in their hearts. They need the attention. Stop giving them that air.”

Wendell: “You….you’re right.”

Grant: “Of course I am. And given the last few weeks, they clearly are people that need help. Perfect examples of people who need to disconnect to reconnect. Pure talent wasted by vapid desires.”

???: “While Wendell may be a worthwhile second…you need someone else to watch your back.”

Grant turns as Scarlett Carsons stands in the doorway.

Carsons: “While you fight to disconnect, allow the Red Garden to join you. We seem to have some shared goals.”

Grant: “The Glimmers…the Vision…”

Carsons: “I’m game if you are.”

Grant turns to Wendell and Destiny.

Grant: “If they do what you fear…we’ll make them regret it.”

Scarlett Carsons lets out a smirk as Wendell nods. Destiny looks on a bit concerned as the scene cuts away.

Sharper: “Did Scarlett and Dexter formally set an alliance?”

Kayl: “Talk about two very different people. But neither are looking to get the plaudits of the social media class.”

Sharper: “They both have their crusades. And an unholy alliance may have been struck. The Glimmers better look out. What is their impact though?”

Kayl: “Never mind the Vision too!”

The opening riff to "Song for the Dead" by Queens of the Stone Age kicks in. At the 37 second mark, the name "Asher Hayes" blares through the PA system, and Asher appears on the stage, wearing a long leather jacket, jeans, and a new Asher Hayes t-shirt, his face full of focus. He bows down for a few moments before standing up straight, throwing both fists in the air, before making his way towards the ring. The SCW Underground Championship sits around his waist.

“It's late enough to go driving
And see what's mine
Life's the study of dying
How to do it right"

He makes his way down the ramp as the reaction of the crowd rains down upon him. He walks up the ring steps and climbs to the top turnbuckle, lifting both fists into the air.

Sharper: “Asher Hayes retained the SCW Underground Championship at Hubris. He defeated David Striker in what was a brawl, a war, all to say the least.”

Knots: “Yeah. Striker can be as violent as he wants, but thank God, Asher Hayes stopped him. For once I’m cheering for Hayes. Go Hayes Go!”

“You're a holy roller
If you bettin' to lose
If you're hanging around
I'm holding the noose"

He drops down and walks over to the corner. He then grabs a microphone waiting for him.

"Ah, ah, ah, ah
Ah, ah, ah, ah
Ah, ah, ah, ah
Ah, ah, ah, ah
Come a little bit closer
And get untied
In a hearse rolling over
Just a track in the line
Fuck it..."

Asher walks around the ring, looking around. He then turns to the main camera.

Hayes: “so David…do I have your respect now? Not that I needed it. But I’m not a joke. I’m not just hear because I got a free ride. You can get pissy, no pun intended, about me having won this title in the bathroom, but sometimes the Underground goes places you’re not ready for. And while you can light tables on fire and put people through them, I have a career of winning and I did that at Hubris.”

Hayes pauses.

Hayes: “So again…do I have your respect? Not that I care…But I hear you’re angry. Well, David…I know you don’t quit. So reload, rebuild…and I look forward to facing you again when you get back to me face to face. Just be careful…you’re running with a crowd that’s pushing the wrong buttons. Sometimes you need to just stay away from the noise. Let Chris have his fight. Ignore the assholes…”

Hayes looks at Jonathan Knots.

Knots: “Hey! I liked you! Screw you Asher!”

Hayes: “And get the job done.”

Hayes walks around the ring.

Hayes: “But with you having fallen at Hubris, here I am a champion waiting for what’s next. No, I don’t wait. And for the first time in a long time…I choose where I go.”

Hayes looks around.

Hayes: “No Cid…hope Denver’s fun. No Blondetourage…I hope you’re all bankrupt. No Rachel Foxx…god rest her soul.”

Kayl: “She’s dead?”

Sharper: “No…she’s not.”

Hayes: “I’m on this walk alone. I’m the Underground Champion…and Taking Hold of the Flame is around the corner. Big surprise, Syren put her name in the hat. Well, that’s nice and all. But maybe someone needs to stop her.”

The crowd gives a bit a cheer.

Hayes: “I think that’s a yes…then again, there are others. Shaun Cruze…Selena Frost I’m sure…Half the roster back there….Simon Lyman. Simon…man, you’ve been kicking around forever. You’re running on borrowed time. Simon, I get it. You want to still try. To get it done one more time, but how much is left in the tank. And you’re brawling with Chris Lawler all over the world. Is this really it? Are you grasping at straws. Then again, Simon, I know what you wanted months ago.”

Hayes walks forward.

Hayes: “David Striker accused me of not taking this title seriously. Well, at near forty, I’ve learned I can multitask. I can win the Taking Hold of the Flame and I can defend this title. So Simon…I have a question to ask you…you wanted to face Enigma for this title. Do you want to face me?”

Hayes looks at the camera.

Hayes: “Don’t take this as begging, Simon. More that I wonder if you really want to be champion…or you’re just trying to game your last run in hopes you’ll be have that second good ride off into the sunset!”

“Hero” by Skillet then starts to play. Hayes smirks as the crowd roars. A few moments pass before Simon Lyman walks out from the back, wearing a suit. He has his cane in his hand, but doesn’t use it as he walks down the rampway.

Sharper: “Looks like Lyman is making his way down so Hayes, you’re going to get an answer.”

Kayl: “He’s already committed to the Taking Hold of the Flame too. As we heard from Syren earlier, he said he’d win.”

Knots: “A bunch of people are going to disappointed come Taking Hold of the Flame!”

Lyman walks down to the ring. He then walks around the ring and over to the corner nearest Jason Phillips. He asks for a microphone. Phillips hands him on.

Hayes: “You could’ve just asked, bro.”

Lyman turns to the ring.

Lyman: “It’s fine. I know you like to hear the sound of your own voice.”

Lyman walks up the steel steps and then into the ring.

Lyman: “Don’t worry, Hayes. I’m not going to push a table into the ring and set it on fire. You don’t need to throw chairs into the ring to show you’re hardcore. I just came out here because the fact is…yeah, I do still want the Underground Championship.”

The crowd roars.

Lyman: “I do still want to prove myself. So Hayes, I think we have an interesting situation here. Because we could do the simple thing. You’re free next week. I’m free next week. We come out and have a fight. But I’m not about the easy ways.”

Lyman looks at Hayes.

Lyman: “I already came out, in front of my hometown, and said I’d win the Taking Hold of the Flame and damn it, I mean it. And I’m now out here in front of the world to say that I’m going to win the Underground Championship!”

Lyman looks at Hayes.

Lyman: “So why not do it on the same night!”

The crowd roars.

Lyman: “You and me one on one for your title to start off the night. And win or lose, we then turn around and go into the Taking Hold of the Flame and hope to do history. What do you say?”

Hayes smirks at Lyman.

Hayes: “You’re pushing yourself too hard, Simon. But if that’s what you want…I’m on board!”

Lyman: “See you then.”

Lyman extends his hand to Hayes. Hayes look at it and the two shake hands. The crowd roars.

Sharper: “Lyman and Hayes at Taking Hold of the Flame. Underground Title on the line!”

Knots: “Hayes may be right. Lyman may be pushing himself too hard. But that won’t matter if it works out!”

Lyman and Hayes look at one another, focused on the other as the scene cuts away.

COMMERCIALS

Breakdown returns as “Psycho in My Head” plays throughout the arena as the Breakdown logo comes up on the screen followed by the logo for “Fan’s Choice.”

Sharper: “Fans, next week, we have a special edition of SCW Breakdown. Several matches will have their stipulations or even their competitors determined by you, the fan’s, at home. Online voting will determine how these matches will turn out.”

Knots: “Yeah. So remember, make the right choice!”

Sharper: “And some big matches to say the least…”

We see a still for Glory Braddock vs. Kemal Yilmaz.

Kayl: “One of the matches – confirmed by Frank Delatosso. Glory Braddock will face Kemal Yilmaz one more time. But will the fan’s, will you give Yilmaz the match he wants. Three options – Flag Match, I Quit Match, and a thirty minute Ultimate Submission.”

We then see a still for Meghan Strader come up on the screen.

Sharper: “And then we’ll see the US Championship on the line. Meghan Strader will defend against one of these three. Whoever gets the most votes – Will it be Colleen MacDonald, looking to be a double champion, or Dexter Grant who will be looking to win his second title in SCW, or will it be Clyde Sutter who has had some bad luck, didn’t win against Colleen in his TV Title opportunities, but wasn’t beaten outright in either. And those not chosen, they’ll then challenge for the SCW World Tag Team Championship!”

Kayl: “And you know Dexter Grant may be looking for that one. You wonder what it feels like with Scarlett Carsons not chosen. Pinned though in the TV title match at Hubris.”

A still then comes up of Chris Dumont and Gavin Taylor.

Sharper: “And the big match – Dumont says he’s going to get his revenge. Gavin Taylor plans to take him out. Will they fight in a street fight, in a strap match, or in a steel cage match! You’ll decide.”

The Breakdown logo comes up on the screen.

Sharper: “More will take place, but those matches are up for you to decide what will happen!”

Chris Lawler vs. Xander Valentine

A long church bell rings, once- twice- a third time as the crowd explodes. The lights go out as Xander’s voice echoes out over the sound system, increasing the intensity of the crowd’s roar.

“Never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.”

The few opening keystrokes of “Soul on Fire” by Last Internationale chimed. A lull before the storm as the crowd seems to calm for only a moment before Delila Paz’s blues dominate the audio.

“Some are born to kill

Others are born to run

Some need to keep on takin'

Till you ain't got none”

A singular light appears before the curtains, on the other side is the outline of a large man. On the screen, we’re shown Xander Valentine holding onto the bars of a prison cell. He starts to bend the bars before the scene blurs.

“But baby, I wasn't built to die

Lay down and be crucified

Nah, no matter how hard they try

To push me down

Still I rise”

“Soul on Fire (Soul, Soul, Soul, Soul)

Soul on Fire (Soul, Soul, Soul, Soul)”

The curtain drops to reveal Xander. A quick salvo of pyros explodes in front of him before he steps through the smoke with an intense look on his face. He goes from one side of the stage to the next, yelling out to the crowd and throwing up his arms. He then stops at the top of the ramp and throws his arm up into the air. He starts down the ramp, Xander’s gaze affixed on the ring.

Phillips: “The following contest is scheduled for onefall with a thirty minute time limit. First, fighting out of Fort Collins, Colorado by way of from Rochester, New York, he is the Paragon of Violence, the Executioner, Xander Valentine!”

Suffocate me until I am blue

To preserve my bad worldview

Paranoid, All Eyes On Me

Rumours circle, vultures feed

Baby, I wasn't built to die

Lay down and be crucified

Nah, no matter how hard they try

To push me down

Still I rise

Xander gets to the base of the entrance way when we see Chris Lawler run up behind him and nail him from behind with a clothesline. Xander staggers and stumbles forward. He turns around and Xander throws a hard right. Lawler ducks and nails him in the ribs with a shot and then a hard right hook. Xander staggers to the barricade.

Sharper: “Lawler attacking Valentine from behind!”

Knots: “There’s your answer. Chris Lawler sees opportunity. And he’s going to seize this one!”

Xander ends up on the barricade and Lawler kicks him in the ribs. He then kicks him again and again and again. The crowd boos as Xander falls to a knee. Lawler then nails him with a hard right and then another and another, teeing off on the face of Xander. Xander falls to his other knee and crawls forward to the ring. He pulls himself up and Lawler then hoists him up and the crowd roars as he has Xander off his feet. Lawler turns and runs and spears Xander back first into the steel steps. The crowd ohs. Xander grimaces and turns to his side. The steps don’t budge an inch.

Sharper: “Lawler hoisting Xander up and driving him into the steps.”

Kayl: “Those steps just took the equivalent of what six hundred pounds and didn’t move!”

Sharper: “And all of that impact into Xander’s back and you can see the pain etched on his face.”

Lawler gets up and grabs Xander as Aaron Demitra, the official, tries to get them to start the match. Lawler ignores him and pulls Xander up and drags him over and runs him over into the ringpost. Xander staggers and off to the barricade. Lawler then looks on as he then smiles before running at Xander. Xander however launches him up, but instead of pulling him up and over, he pulls him down, chest first onto the barricade. The crowd roars as Lawler falls back to the ring. Lawler rolls into the ring. Xander steps forward and slides in. The crowd roars as Demitra slides in and calls for the bell. Lawler starts to get up and runs into the ropes. He bounces off and Xander goes for a clothesline. Lawler ducks and bounces off the other side and jumps up, but Xander catches him in a bearhug. Xander looks up at Lawler as Lawler just looks at him, both intensely, before Lawler hits an ear clap.

Sharper: “And Lawler fighting out. Trying to box those ears in.”

Knots: “There’s a nice little edge to Lawler as of late. We’ve seen it for the last few months.”

Sharper: “Just decisive and willing to also just rough someone up to get ahead.”

Xander lets go of Lawler, wincing in pain. Lawler runs into the ropes, bouncing off and hits a flying clothesline, knocking Valentine down. Lawler gets up and goes for the pin.

2!

Xander kicks out. Lawler then gets up and Xander rolls over. Lawler stomps him in the back of the head. Xander rolls over, clearly showing a degree of annoyance, before Lawler stomps him again. He then grabs Xander and pulls him up and leans him against the ropes before hitting a left jab to the ribs and then a right jab to the jaw before nailing him with a left hook. He goes for a right hook, but Xander blocks it. The crowd roars as Xander hits a headbutt. Lawler staggers and Xander knees him in the ribs. He then hits a back elbow and then a hard right jab, then a left hook before a right uppercut and Lawler falls to the mat, rolling over and crawling to the far corner.

Kayl: “Why would you trade punches with a former boxer?”

Knots: “Confidence Kayl. Something you only had when you hid behind the ether.”

Kayl: “I’m confident I could take you.”

Knots: “Good to know you’ve got the same bar to success as the Troupe idiots. Threaten an announcer!”

Lawler gets up in the corner as Xander steps up and knees him in the ribs. He rears back and knees him again and again. Demitra calls for the break.

Xander steps back and whips him across the ring. Lawler hits the opposite corner and Xander runs across and hits a running splash into the corner. The crowd ohs. Lawler staggers out as Xander steps back. He then scoops him up and hits a sidewalk slam. He pulls back on the legs for the pin.

2!

Lawler kicks out. Lawler rolls over as Xander rolls in the opposite direction. He gets up and turns to Lawler, but Lawler hoists him up and hits a hot shot, dropping Xander throat first on the top rope. Xander staggers back. Lawler smirks and Xander turns before Lawler hits a variation of the Blitz Kick!

Sharper: “Lawler just took Xander Valentine’s head off. Blitz Kick!”

Kayl: “Jesus!”

Lawler turns and hooks the leg.

1!

2!

Xander kicks out. Lawler rolls off. He looks around and then turns and grabs Xander and pulls him up by the head and nails him with a hard right and then another and another before going to pull him up and Xander suddenly grabs him by the throat. The crowd erupts. Xander looks at Lawler as Lawler steps back, but Xander holds on, getting up. He then throws Lawler’s arm over before hoisting him up and driving him down into the middle of the ring with a chokeslam. Xander walks around the ring. Lawler winces and gets up and Xander runs into the ropes, bouncing off and hitting a big boot, knocking Lawler back down.

Sharper: “And Xander Valentine with a boot of his own.”

Kayl: “Chris Lawler’s confidence evaporating by the moment.”

Xander looks around as Lawler starts to stir. Xander grabs him and pulls him up before running him into the corner. Lawler hits the corner and staggers back, but as Xander hoists him up onto his shoulder, Ryan LeCavalier runs down to the ring and slides in. She runs over and hits a chopblock. The crowd ohs as Xander hits the mat. The bell sounds as Xander rolls over in pain. Lawler rolls away. Ryan gets up and runs over and stomps Xander in the face. She stomps him again and again and again. Xander moves to the corner. Ryan then comes in and grabs him and starts to choke him.

Sharper: “Ryan LeCavalier getting revenge! Ruining this match.”

Knots: “And now just going after Xander!”

Kayl: “Selena Frost may not be here, but Ryan LeCavalier is going to still fight for her it seems.”

Ryan then grabs Xander and pulls him out with a running cutter. Ryan LeCavalier then exits to the apron and calls on Xander to get up. Lawler stirs as well as Ryan then waits before springboarding to the top rope. She then goes for Defying Gravity. Xander ducks as Ryan spins through and lands on her feet. She turns around and Xander grabs her by the throat and hoists her up and chokeslams her. The crowd roars. Just then, Lawler hoists Xander up onto his shoulders. He then spins him out and hits the Lawler Cutter!

Sharper: “Xander got Ryan as Ryan tried to hit the Defying Gravity, but Lawler then got Xander!”

Knots: “Did he hit what I think he did!”

Sharper: “Lawler Cutter! And this crowd cheering before then realizing what that may mean.”

Kayl: “He said to prove himself and he just hit Xander Valentine with a move he’s probably dreamed about hitting for decades!”

Lawler looks down at Xander as Ryan stirs. Lawler slowly gets up and looks down at Xander and smiles as the scene slowly fades out.

COMMERCIALS

Breakdown returns as we see Jason Phillips in the middle of the ring. Frank Delatosso, the SCW Chief Executive Officer, stands in the background.

Sharper: “And we expected to hear from Amelia Nevado. And well…we’re going to hear from the CEO. Jason, take it away.”

Knots: “Wooooooo! WOOOOOOOOO!”

Phillips: “Fans, please welcome at this time, the Supreme Championship Wrestling Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Frank Delatosso!”

The crowd boos as Delatosso steps up, shakes Phillips’ hand, before taking the microphone.

Delatosso: “Thank you. Thank you…tonight, we have the honour of privilege and welcoming someone in the pantheon of champions. Someone who has deserved this opportunity for quite some time and finally was given the opportunity to prove themselves. And despite some blips and challenges by others who sought to prevent her from reaching her potential, she can now call herself Champion!”

The crowd gives a mixed reaction.

Delatosso: “To just show how talented she is…at Retribution, thanks to my late addition, she was able to go to her home country and prove she was as she claimed…a champion in the making…facing one of the hungriest young talent in professional wrestling in Kemal Yilmaz, and then defeat two former World Champions in Glory Braddock and Shaun Cruze. And then in Hubris, in Australia, she defeated the woman with the most World Championships in SCW, Syren…the woman with the longest World Championship reign in SCW history, in Selena Frost…despite both muscling in on her opportunity…and then defeating the finest champion…another man who finally reached his potential in Gavin Taylor and the man who will have the honour of challenging our new champion at Taking Hold of the Flame not only for the World Title but for the right to defend that title at Rise to Greatness XXIII…Fans…it gives me great honour to announce and welcome the NEW SCW World Champion….Amelia Nevado!”

The crowd gives a mixed reaction of some cheers and some boos. “Victorious” by Skillet begins playing as the lights dim a bit. Slowly, Amelia Nevado makes her way onto the stage, putting herself front and center as she folds her hands in front of her, looking like a proper young lady as she looks somewhat solemnly down towards the ring, trying to block out the boos she's now receiving. The SCW World Championship sits around her waist. After a moment of this, Amelia slowly unfolds her hands before she proceeds to head down to the ring.

Sharper: “And no matter what you think, she is the SCW World Champion. And there is no fluke there. She choked out Selena Frost!”

Kayl: “You can ask whether the chaos was supported by the situation. Regardless, it’s fatal fourway. No disqualifications. Selena had Gavin down for the two count. Nevado pulled her off before that three and then locked in the Blight Choke.”

Knots: “She not only proved she should be there. She proved it against the woman who a few weeks ago told her she shouldn’t be. Her former ally. And someone who has completed unraveled!”

Sharper: “And again, fans, if you’re wondering, we expected Selena Frost here. She’s not been here. Deanna Frost has even been concerned about this. It’s been a surprising night. Even Syren was here and gave Amelia some kudos but also some advice.”

Knots: “Ignore her Amelia. Chart your own path!”

Amelia Nevado walks over to the ring and then stops. The camera pans around her as pyro shoots out from the entrance way. The crowd looks on as Amelia Nevado just takes in the moment.

Sharper: “Notice Amelia out here…”

Kayl: “Where’s Luz?”

Sharper: “They had a moment earlier, but you wonder if after months of Luz having that attention with the US Title, is Amelia having her moment?”

Knots: “And she deserves it!”

The pyro continues for a few moments longer before Amelia Nevado walks up the steel steps and walking along the apron. She wipes her feet before stepping through the ropes and into the ring. She walks forward and shakes Frank Delatosso’s hand. The crowd boos as Amelia then undoes the title around her waist and holds it over her head. Pyro comes out from the ringposts as Delatosso applauds. Nevado brings the title down and places it over her shoulder. She then looks around as Delatosso extends her the microphone. Amelia takes it and looks around as the music fades out. The crowd continues to give a mixed reaction as Amelia looks around. She takes in the reaction for a few more moments before starting to speak.

Amelia: “I am the SCW World Champion!”

The crowd gives again a vocal mixed reaction.

Amelia: “For years…for this past year….I wondered whether I could even stand here. I even had someone I thought was a mentor tell me I didn’t deserve it and couldn’t get it done. Well by my hands, I made that person pass out!”

The crowd roars.

Amelia: “And Selena, I need to get this off my chest…I said I would prove to you that I deserve to be here. And now you can’t handle it. Do the world a favour. Go home. Find yourself. Because your time is over. SCW has the champion it needs!”

The crowd roars.

Amelia: “I woke up in Australia, looking at myself…at this title…knowing not only that I EARNED it but that I now get the attention I deserve. The respect I deserve. And Mr. Delatosso…thank you.”

The crowd boos.

Amelia: “Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for giving me the opportunity. And thank you for trusting me with this. I will be proud to be SCW’s champion and I will hold this title with honour, with grace….but no more with humility.”

Amelia looks at the camera.

Amelia: “And we start my reign with a match that should have capped off Hubris. Gavin Taylor facing me…Gavin, despite his tactics, is an accomplished wrestler. Australia’s Favourite Son. And he is the former World Champion.”

Amelia pauses.

Amelia: “And we can give people the fresh matchup they have clamoured for. Something fresh. Something exciting. While people like Syren and Selena Frost may still have the ability, they have gotten complacent. Same with people like Glory Braddock…I hope you’re looking at the mirror. You always thought you were better than me. Well, I’ve held this longer than you. You can come to terms with that…Shaun Cruze…he can feel he’s too good for the support. While I intend to lead SCW into its future as its leader. I was trained for this moment. And I found my own path to this point. And I will not be letting go without the fight of one’s life!”

Amelia starts to pace around the ring, getting more comfortable.

Amelia: “And I…”

Amelia turns as we see Gavin Taylor walking down the rampway, wearing a dark overcoat, with Jenni Anderson, and surrounded by the All-Star Secret Service. Amelia turns and Delatosso says something to her. Gavin just gives a thumbs up and points before looking around.

Amelia: “Gavin…great of you to join us and grace us with your presence. No doubt we will have a classic bout, representing two different philosophies for champion-quality competition!”

Gavin Taylor reaches the ring. He starts to walk up the steel steps. He then steps into the ring. He walks forward and the crowd buzzes before booing as Gavin extends his hand. Amelia shakes it and the two just look at one another, eyes locked. Gavin points to the microphone. Amelia hands it to him.

Gavin: “Sorry to interrupt you Amelia….Amazing Amelia. Awesome Amelia…but after I am done taking care of Crazy Chris next week, I will be giving you a challenge. But for once, I am happy. We don’t need to worry about the steal. A quality championship opponent. May the best person w-“

All the lights in the arena suddenly cut out, leaving the fans gasping and roaring in surprise. After a moment, blue lighting overtakes the arena, almost making it look like the entire place is underwater. On the stage, we can see what looks like water raining down right in front of the entryway, a silhouette of a woman visible behind it as she's flipping her hair and looks to be getting “dressed” for battle. “Tongue Twister” then hits and after a few seconds, we see Gina Glimmer (we assume) walk through the water, motioning as though she were parting a curtain, sashaying in a way that draws all eyes to her hips as she grins knowing full well what she's doing. Once she's fully visible she flaps her arms at her sides almost like she's flying, and as she does we see a second pair of arms flapping in the opposite motion appear from behind her, almost making her look like one of those multi-armed Hindu gods. After a few flaps she leans to one side as we see her twin Gia Glimmer (again, we assume) suddenly appear from behind her and lean the opposite way, perfectly mirroring one another. They join hands and look as though they're about to break into a ballroom dance, but Gina simply uses this to flip Gia over her back, and the moment she lands on her feet in time with the bass dropping the lighting immediately changes to a vibrant display of pinks and yellows. They stop, both revealing they’re holding microphones. Gavin looks around before turning to Jenni Anderson. Amelia Nevado looks at the stage.

Knots: “What are they doing out here?”

Sharper: “They did say that they’d make an impact before the night was over.”

Gina (we think): “Sorry to interrupt-“

Gia (we think): “But not that sorry because we said we would make an impact.”

Delatosso: “Dean! Where are you? Can you please remove the tag team champions from the stage. This is time for the World Champion!”

Delatosso looks around as we cut to the stage.

Gia: “I wonder if he’ll come out.”

Gina: “Think he can handle us?”

Gina smirks as we then see Dean Black walk out from the back.

Gia: “I’d suggest you stop before you do something that’s going to actually be a mistake.”

Dean Black motions for them to leave.

Gina: “You may have to force us.”

CHBK: “Dean…stand down.”

Gia and Gina smirk as Dean turns and we see CHBK walk out from the back, microphone in his hand.

Delatosso: “Alex…do you forget who is your boss here? Dean…you know who to listen to.”

CHBK: “Oh, they have an announcement that the World Champion is going to want to listen to. And I’m here to certify that what they are about to say has already gone through all of the right channels.”

Delatosso: “Excuse me?”

CHBK: “Gina? Gia?”

Gia: “Oh this is special. We’re getting the support of the people in charge.”

Gina: “And didn’t have to even offer certain favours. What an odd place…”

Gia: “But what he did say is right. We’ve made a decision…”

Gina: “On MY Trios Tournament contract.”

The crowd erupts. Amelia just nods. Gavin looks around and turns to Delatosso as Delatosso just look at the stage shocked. He then turns, trying to calm Gavin down.

Gina: “Because Amelia…we’ve been told for a long time that we compare with another notable tag team around here. And now that you’re World Champion, let’s just say that we’re willing to truly test to see whether those ocmparisons are apt!”

Gia: “It helps that it will probably cause Selena to have another mental breakdown.”

Gina: “A benefit to everyone, to be honest. Deserving bitch.”

Gia smirks.

Gia: “Especially as we could hold the SCW World Championship before she does again.”

The crowd roars.

Amelia: “Name your cash-in!”

Gina: “That’s the spirit. Because we have a true plan to see if you really are capable of competing with us. Both inside the ring….and outside of it.”

Gia: “Let’s face it. We want to see who the best WOMEN here are and so at Taking Hold of the Flame, sorry Gavin…you took our friend’s nightclub. We move into your place in line!”

Gina: “And at Taking Hold of the Flame…we will see the Glimmer Sisters compete against The Light in the Darkness…We may as well get Luz’s title shot out of the way too. Or are you ready for it? Oh we’ll see!”

Amelia looks down briefly before then trying to hide any reaction.

Gina: “And because we’re confident…title for title. Tag Titles against World Title. Winner take all.”

Gia: “First, we have some fun. And we need to put our twist on it. And we know how much our CEO loves our antics. Light in the Darkness and the Glimmer Sisters…in a Lingerie Showdown!”

The crowd roars. Amelia just shakes her head.

Amelia: “Why can’t you just showcase your in-ring pursuits-“

Gina: “Because we don’t wanna! And we can do it and still have some fun while every warm-blooded male-“

Gia: “And many warm-blooded females-“

Gina: “Can fawn over us. We start with a lingerie contest. Don’t worry…we’ll make it on the up and up. We’re that confident. But right after, we then compete two on two. And whichever team wins the lingerie portion, they can ignore all standard rules. They can ignore countouts, dqs, rope breaks, even tags…while their opponents…they’ll have to see how good they really are. We’ll see who really deserves what, Amelia.”

Gia: “I think that’s a good taste of what’s to come.”

Gina: “Don’t want to reveal it all-“

Delatosso: “There’s nothing else to reveal. This is not going to happen. The World Champion is a top tier competitor-“

CHBK: “And despite their antics, the Glimmer Sisters have defeated every tag team in SCW…except Light in the Darkness. And plus, Frank…it doesn’t matter. The Board already approved the cash-in. I’ll share the details with your office.”

Delatosso: “I was not part of any meeting-“

CHBK: “Take that up with your office. But the match is happening. The Glimmer Sisters will face Light in the Darkness in this Lingerie Showdown. World Tag Team Titles on the line. World Title on the line. Winner…take…all!”

Amelia: “You won’t stand a chance.”

Gina: “That’s what they all say!”

Gia: “We’ll see how true it is!”

Amelia looks at the Glimmers as the scene fades out…
