Neil, at his core, is a wrestling traditionalist. Mr Fundamental. Represents the golden era of wrestling. His wife, Summer, comes from a wealthy family. Been through her fair share of adversities, she came out on the other side looking, especially looking, feeling, and excluding everything fabolous. Neil wanted to wrestle again, Summer wanted to explore what was out there outside of GCW.

Entrance Description: (Tag Team)
“My Way” by Il Divo kicks in. Neil Newman comes out first. He doesn’t walk out very far. He places his hand on his heart, lowers his head, soaks in the beautiful music being played. Soon, “Burn in my Life” plays, Summer Collins-Newman walks out. The moment she grabs his free hand, Neil raises his head up. Mr and Mrs. Newman the rest of the way together. They reach the ring, Neil walks up the steep steps. He walks towards the center, he helps his wife on the ring apron, ever the gentleman, he opens the ropes, allowing her to enter the ring first.  Neil is the next to enter the ring. Burn in My Light concludes with Neil and Summer seen discussing something that can’t be picked up by the camera.

Biography:


Started off as rivals in Global Division of Wrestling. Neil forced Summer to become his cheerleader in GCW. After humbling him, she saw that he wasn’t the male chauvinist jerk he presented himself to be. The two fell in love. All she wrote from that moment forward. With Neil feeling the itch, and Summer wanting to explore outside her comfort zone, Mr and Mrs Newman are looking to bring an old school fabulous flavor to Emerge. They need it...

“My Way” by Il Divo blast from the loud speaker as Neil Newman proudly struts from the back. His arrogance can obviously be picked up on by the audience. They react accordingly with jeers. Neil, wearing red-white-and blue singlet; he continues walking down to the ring with a renewed swagger. He reaches the ring, slides under the button rope. He gets to his feet. He climbs the middle turnbuckle, presenting himself to the crowd as if he were the king (in this case Prince) of wrestling.

Short Bio:
Neil Newman grew up a fan of professional wrestling; went to Boston College, was a star wrestling athlete. Dawning the nickname Mr. Wrestling IV originally; he came into the business sporting a similar message to Kurt Angle in the early part of his career; preaching honor and morals. His message did not get over as well as he originally thought. His career went as far as his message; no where. He quit wrestling after VWA Chaos Theory; swearing he'd never wrestle again. He felt the fans never appreciated his message.


Realizing wrestling was in his blood he couldn't stand being on the sidelines, Neil is coming back into the business to prove a point that he's indeed professional wrestling but this time around he is in the business for himself. Not the fans. Now Newman is being himself; a wrestling fan of early 1970's/1980's wrestling when wrestling was simple and not about outlandish gimmick matches (Hell in a Cell... Elimination Chamber, Ladder matches, etc) or high flying acrobatics. A wrestling traditionalist true and true it is time for Newman to establish himself in the bowels of wrestling.
